Gary Moon shared thisInteresting launch today from Signus.ai. One thing you learn after working with a lot of emerging growth companies is that real opportunities often sit inside categories everyone assumes are already “solved.” Contracts and e-signatures are a good example. Signus.ai is taking a fresh AI-native swing at that market, and it is worth watching. Congrats to Allon Mason and the Signus.ai team.

Gary Moon reacted on thisGary Moon reacted on thisMy book Conscious Accomplishment just hit 50 reviews on Amazon with a 5.0 rating! I’m celebrating this mini-milestone and also reflecting on some of the surprises in my book journey. I thought the main reason people would benefit from reading it was the practical advice it provided for walking a middle path. This has certainly been true, but what I didn’t realize was just how much people would appreciate being SEEN. There are so many people out there who are going through their own transformational journey. It can be extremely lonely and confusing.... Especially when the lives of many of the people you read about in transformational book look so different from yours. This is definitely how I felt when I started this journey. Recognizing that you’re not alone, and that there are in fact many others going through the same exact things as you can be a life-line. It can also motivate you to keep going and find the others. I’m glad sharing my experience seems to have helped people in this way. Big thanks to everyone who has supported the book so far and I hope it continues to find those it can support. 🙏

Gary Moon liked thisGary Moon liked thisAI has become the justification for every layoff. It's the perfect excuse card, but there is a lot of spin involved. Every layoff is some combo of the following five very different AI stories. 1. Nothing changed, we just realized we have too many people. We are going to blame AI, but we are bullshitting. This is the AI as an excuse; it was really sloppy hiring, and we are just blaming AI. (See Block) 2. Growth has gone away so now we have too many people. This may be because of AI if you are a SaaS company. All the customer love is now going to AI. But it's less AI as a productivity lift, and more about you just building a less ambitious growth company. (See Salesforce and most every SaaS company) 3. We spent our money on capex to build AI so now we can’t afford as many people. Management may say it’s about AI making us productive (4 below) but my gut is a lot of it is about Nvidia getting our money so now there is none for you. (See Meta and Oracle) 4. We are really using AI the way god intended us to. We don't need as many people. This is the ONLY version of the story that is actually about a productivity increase. It's real, it's happening, but I wonder if it is even the majority of the layoffs. (See some software engineering departments right now) Jason M. Lemkin raised a fifth reason that doesn't get talked about enough: we just have the wrong people. Maybe we don't need 20 engineers who all know C++, but rather eight who have strong AI skills. This I think should be happening everywhere. Every time a layoff announcement comes out, I try and mentally categorize per the above.

Gary Moon liked thisGary Moon liked thisOn the last day of Black History Month, I wanted to share something personal. In 2006, I graduated from Morehouse College. When I started my Venture Capital career, one of my key mentors was Willie Woods of ICV Partners, LLC. We met through the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC) and he made time for a young analyst who was passionate about technology, startups and the world of investing. Our connection through Morehouse College is what made it special as he instilled in me a responsibility not just to succeed, but also to pour into our community. On February 12th, during the 13th President of Morehouse College, Dr. F. DuBois Bowman's inauguration speech, he uttered my name right after Willie Woods, the retiring Chair, and Verdun Perry, Global Head of Blackstone Strategic Partners, newly minted Chairman of the Board at Morehouse. They are two of the greatest men, investors, and financial minds to ever come out of Morehouse. To be named amongst leaders like them along with other Morehouse alum such as, Martin Luther King Jr. Julian Bond, Dr. Walter Massey, Dr. Michael L. Lomax, Spike Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Edwin Moses, Donn Clendenon, Euclid Walker, Otis Moss Jr., Calvin Butts, Calvin Mackey, and many more, is something I’ve spent the last two weeks failing to fully comprehend. I was rendered speechless. The very next day, I was honored as one of the Inaugural Morehouse College 50 under 50 award recipients for my impact in Venture Capital and for my work with my dear colleagues at Bessemer Venture Partners. This award program and reception was the vision of one Mr. Joe Carlos III, with whom I first met in the summer of 2002 as a seventeen year old incoming freshman. His leadership and commitment to the college is why so many of us have stayed close, given back, and carried Mother Morehouse with us throughout our life and career journeys. What a distinct honor to be recognized amongst such leaders, peers and fellow Black Men that I look up to. One that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I have so much pride in who I am, the community that I belong to, my family's history and its future. However, I spend a lot of time asking myself: Am I doing enough? Have I given enough? Have I made a lasting impact? I think we all do. But for these three days in February of 2026, for the first time in my life, I didn’t ask myself anything. Happy Black History Month ✊🏽🖤

Gary Moon liked thisGary Moon liked thisIt’s been a year of real change. The company I started and built exited to Cricket Media, and I made a deliberate decision to stay on as CEO and help lead the next chapter. People often ask me whether this was just another media combination in the kids space. In reality, it was the foundation for building AI-driven kids solutions the right way. From the outside, it looked like a straightforward combination of a kids streaming business and a legacy publisher. Cricket is often viewed through the lens of its magazines. What’s less obvious is that it’s one of the cleanest, most trusted, and most deliberately structured library and datasets in kids’ media. Rights-cleared, age-aligned, topic-organized, and built over 50 years with intent. As the world moves to fine-tuning and training AI models, this matters more than ever. Many emerging products in the kids market today are built by scraping keywords, creator descriptions, and engagement signals that algorithms use to make content decisions. Training models on bad data amplifies noise, flattens nuance, and works against safety, trust and age-appropriateness for kids. At Sensical, coming out of Common Sense Networks, we created a framework grounded in decades of child development science and classified content ourselves, initially with people, at scale. We did that work to curate content for our streaming service, to program the under-13 experience on TikTok, to bring structure to the sea of content on YouTube, and to create a contextual advertising system that brands could trust for compliance and efficiency. When you combine this framework and metadata with Cricket’s owned, structured library and a growing ecosystem of creators, studios, publishers, and rights holders, you get a remarkable new company with a unique asset base, capabilities, and “intelligence layer” for kids. With that intelligence layer, we can fine-tune models we control. We know how to speak to kids at different ages with conversational AI. We know how to align brands with the right environments across YouTube and CTV. We know how to classify content for platforms in a way that is transparent and defensible. That’s the foundation for building AI-driven products for kids and families that are genuinely different, and for brands and platforms that need safer, smarter solutions. All of those pieces came together this year, and this is what I’m most excited to build upon in 2026. Data-driven contextual advertising at scale; chat, print and learning subscriptions for kids from birth to 14; and experiences that let kids freely and safely explore their passions without barriers.

Sebastian Barros nails the potential opportunity for Telcos if they have the appetite to leverage their decades of experience running vast global networks. Beyond datacenters and capacity, there are real opportunities for Enterprise AI networks, LLM caching at the Edge, and Identity/Trust/Security fabrics (sold as a service or other). I'm excited to see what materializes from this $1 trillion opportunity!

Very interesting reading here from Matt Yardley and team. Rural connectivity projects succeed, in my experience, when three conditions are satisfied 1. Policy makers are politically and financially committed to the outcome 2. The project funds fibre roll out 3. The incumbent is not involved. The world is littered with projects that have failed but, when these three conditions are met, the policy gets delivered.

The nature of network and coverage has been evolving fast since 5G has become a mainstream option for operators operator partnerships with public bodies will be a cornerstone of many of these smaller targeted coverage initiatives One announced last week was between EE and Ontix, in collaboration with Westminster City Council, which is deploying 80 innovative small cells across the City of Westminster. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of both 4G and 5G networks. What I find particularly impressive is the thoughtful and innovative approach to this deployment: ▪️ Seamless Integration: The new miniature mobile masts are designed explicitly for lamppost deployment and painted to blend with existing street furniture, prioritising aesthetics and minimising visual impact. ▪️ Targeted Capacity: These small cells deliver concentrated coverage to specific, high-demand areas, tackling the unique challenges of Westminster's dense urban environment. ▪️ Efficient Rollout: Careful preparation of each location means significantly reduced deployment time and minimal disruption in these high-traffic zones. As James Hope, Director of Mobile Radio Access Networks at EE, highlighted, this project is a key milestone in their network densification efforts, boosting mobile capacity where it’s needed most. It’s a potent example of enhancing urban digital infrastructure while respecting the cityscape.! #5G #London #Connectivity #EE #Ontix #SmallCells #UrbanTech #SmartCities #NetworkDensification #DigitalInfrastructure #Westminster

Big news out of ALL.SPACE this week. The company has achieved certification of its Hydra terminal on the Viasat Global Xpress network and entered into a strategic collaboration to expand integration across Viasat’s global Ka-band infrastructure. The certification enables the electronically steered Hydra terminal to operate across Viasat GX high-capacity steerable beams, delivering resilient communications on the move for government and defence users. As defence operations increasingly depend on assured connectivity in contested and remote environments, technologies that enable reliable multi-network SATCOM are becoming critical infrastructure. As the D2D market heats up, GEO incumbents are leveraging spectrum, scale, and sovereign trust to carve out a unique role as infrastructure providers. This model may prove more resilient, more investable, and ultimately more scalable than the high-burn, vertically integrated paths of their LEO challengers. The Direct-to-Device (D2D) race is rapidly evolving from a technical ambition to a strategic battleground. LEO entrants such as Starlink Direct-to-Cell, AST SpaceMobile, Lynk Global and Skylo are investing aggressively to seize first-mover advantage. Yet amid this momentum, the incumbent GEO operators (Viasat and Space42) are charting a more deliberate, infrastructure-grade strategy that may ultimately prove more defensible. Through the launch of #Equatys, these operators are transforming decades of operational expertise and regulatory capital into a differentiated D2D platform. With over 100 MHz of harmonized MSS spectrum spanning 160+ jurisdictions, Equatys is positioned to bypass one of the largest barriers facing new entrants: global spectrum access. Moreover, by anchoring their model in 3GPP NTN standards and a neutral-host architecture, Viasat and Space42 are not just competing for market share — they are redefining how D2D capacity can be monetized at scale. This “space tower company” approach unlocks three critical advantages: 1. Regulatory alignment and sovereignty compliance — appealing to governments and regulators. 2. Capital efficiency — shared infrastructure reduces duplication and burn. 3. Ecosystem integration — enabling MNOs and OEMs to participate without surrendering control to vertically integrated disruptors. GEO incumbents are leveraging spectrum, scale, and sovereign trust to carve out a unique role as infrastructure providers. This model may prove more resilient, more investable, and ultimately more scalable than the high-burn, vertically integrated paths of their LEO challengers. The D2D revolution is just beginning—who will define the future of global connectivity? Exciting times ahead as the race between LEO disruptors and GEO incumbents unfolds. 🚀📶 #space42 #equatys #viasat

Excited to finally share what we’ve been building over the past year. Today we’re announcing the first investment from ARKITEKT EQUITY. Over the past year, we have been closely observing the structural shifts occurring within semiconductor ecosystems. As manufacturing systems become more complex, the infrastructure enabling those systems becomes increasingly strategic. These environments demand operational clarity, coordination, and long-term alignment. ARKITEKT was built around a simple idea: durable value is created where frontier technology meets pragmatic execution. Our investment in BBTech reflects this conviction. This is just the beginning of what we aim to build at ARKITEKT EQUITY. Stay tuned! https://lnkd.in/g_pQiBZY

Is open RAN dead? We've been asking that question for a long time. It depends on who you ask. But considering it's in operators' RFPs, I think it's safe to say it's "arrived." “I think we should see the evolution of the RAN as a continuous, incremental process, rather than changing everything overnight,” said Monica Paolini, principal at the analyst/consulting firm Senza Fili. “In that sense, it gives me a sense that things are much more under control in terms of cost, performance and risk.” Yigal Elbaz Alok Shah Masum Mir Cristina Rodriguez Aji Ed Joe Constantine Monica Paolini https://lnkd.in/gpvPE84V

ZaiNar • 7K followers
Last week we shared that ZaiNar had emerged from nine years of stealth. Today we’re sharing what we built. We’re announcing commercial availability of the first 5G location system that delivers sub-10cm accuracy using only the connectivity signals devices already transmit. Ranges up to 1.5 kilometers. Zero additional battery drain. No device software required. Here’s why this is a big deal for the telecom industry: carriers have invested billions in 5G infrastructure globally. With ZaiNar, those networks can now deliver highly accurate positioning services across every connected device - dramatically increasing the utility and ROI of those investments. Location services can be worth more than the connectivity itself. Our technology uses SRS - the connectivity signal every device transmits to maintain its network connection - and processes it at the network level. The result is sub-10cm positioning that works indoors, outdoors, through walls, on as little as 10 MHz of spectrum. This turns 5G from a faster pipe into genuine infrastructure for Physical AI - and it’s deployed and operating today across healthcare, construction, logistics, and smart cities. With MWC next week, we have much more to share. https://lnkd.in/ghVhYXvt #ZaiNar #5G #PhysicalAI #noGPS #MWC2026

$1 Trillion at the Whitehouse: Will Telcos Dare to Sell Into It? At the White House, tech leaders pledged more than $1 trillion in new U.S. investments. Everyone else is debating politics. I’m looking at Telco opportunities. That trillion is not just money Big Tech will spend on themselves. It’s money they’ll spend on infrastructure, connectivity, and trust. And that’s where telcos can win. Here are 10 things telcos can sell back to Big Tech: 1. Data centers & edge hosting 2. Edge GPU hubs 3. Programmable network slices 4. Identity & trust fabric 5. Subsea & satellite capacity 6. Enterprise AI networks 7. Energy-linked private networks 8. LLM caching at the edge 9. Security as a service 10. Data for Physical AI Telcos don’t always need to be the buyers. We can also be the sellers. We don’t lack capability. We lack will to move beyond GB/Month. The trillion is on the table. Question is: who takes the lion’s share?

Damien Garros & Wim Henderickx' NANOG talk on the NAF Automation Framework shed new insights for me on how to think about intent. The functional blocks of the Network Automation Forum's framework are purposefully high-level. So it's interesting to ask questions like "where does policy fit in?" For example, let's say you have a security policy that states hosts with unpatched vulnerabilities must not be internet-accessible. ❓ Where does that policy belong in these functional blocks? In my mind, I see the policy living "somewhere else" outside the network automation stack, since it's managed by a security team. 🔐 But ultimately, any policy--whether operational, security, or compliance--is a desired outcome. So it is part of the intent functional block. That doesn't seem like such a revolutionary thought. But thinking in functional blocks is very useful. Because it is an architectural perspective. This is one of the points that Damien has been hammering recently. A major barrier to network automation adoption is getting stuck in the mechanics of automation, rather than thinking like architects. Damien wrote a great blog on this perspective on the NAF framework, which you can find on the opsmill website. Sometimes, it is helpful to step back from implementation, tools, and vendors and consider how things fit together at a higher level. Simplifying aids perspective. As a marketer, I appreciate this: while technologies can be differentiated in detail, the meaning of that differentiation often doesn't become clear until you do the hard work of simplifying to understand what that value really is. There's an art to simplifying that is not just fluff thinking, but a purposeful step towards a sharper perspective. The NAF framework strikes me as a valuable perspective-enhancing tool for network automation. #networkautomation

Where does #telecoms #sovereignty end and #protectionism begin? I just listened to a regulatory panel at #vConSpring which highlighted two surprising US proposals from the Federal Communications Commission: - Onshoring of #callcentre operations - Restrictions on foreign-made #WiFi routers The first one is a proposed rulemaking limiting use of foreign #contactcenters. It would limit transfer of "sensitive" personal information, insist on notification of offshore agents and options for domestic calls instead, and mandate English language proficiency. This is based on a combination of perceived security risks and consumer distaste for variable-quality call centre experiences. That would have huge implications for overnight hours support, ability to deal with foreign speakers in the US, and create huge process and implementation complexity. The other sudden announcement is the FCC updating its Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act "Covered List" to “include all consumer-grade routers produced in foreign countries”. This has already been done for drones, and applies to equipment seen as a potential security risk. This means a potential ban of internationally-manufactured Wi-Fi routers for home broadband, beyond those already certified. While there will exemptions granted, based on a "conditional approval" process, that is a huge negative given wide use of manufacturing locations like Taiwan. It may also affect firmware updates of existing devices. It could impact growth of #WiFi7 and #WiFi8, given new models expected in coming months that may need extra approvals or a switch to US manufacturing if possible. I have no idea if this also applies to the Wi-Fi hotspot feature on mobile phones - not sure if that makes them "routers" in the same way? The US isn't alone in this type of strong stance on sovereignty of products or specific services. China and other countries have their own rules. There's a big push in Europe for localised cloud and AI platforms, especially with the attempt to create a so-called #Eurostack. And I'm also tracking the shift to local or sovereign contact centres and cloud platforms for specific workloads or customer segments. But I haven't yet seen anything proposed that's as sudden or as draconian as these rules seem to be. They appear to have taken many people by surprise. In both cases I can sort-of see the underlying rationale - but I wonder if there are less disruptive and abrupt approaches, for instance via narrower targetting rather than broader-brush rules. Potentially consultations and comments will soften some of the impacts. In any case - this trend will get discussed in detail at the upcoming Unthinkable Lab on Sovereignty in London on 23rd of April. We won't just look at UK telecoms issues, but also EU, US and the wider global landscape. Let me or Andrew Collinson know if you'd like to be involved, or sign up! https://lnkd.in/eZg95JeD

Innovation rarely makes headlines in its earliest stages. More often, it comes from small, determined teams quietly solving complex problems layer by layer, breakthrough by breakthrough. That’s exactly what NRBY has been doing. Our mission is to bring AI-powered, real-time intelligence to broadband operations, unlocking efficiency, reducing downtime, and giving providers the ability to delight customers in ways that were once out of reach. Our guiding insight: Don’t wait until your customers demand better service. Lead with smarter, proactive solutions that anticipate their needs and raise the bar for what great service looks like. At NRBY, we’ve built a real-time machine learning platform designed to empower network operators. Instead of reacting to issues after they’ve already impacted customers, our platform equips providers with the intelligence and tools they need to stay ahead of problems before they arise. With NRBY, operators can: ✔️ Improve network reliability and efficiency through smarter monitoring and automation. ✔️ Deliver a better, more seamless customer experience at every touchpoint. ✔️ Transition from reactive service models to predictive, data-driven operations. This isn’t theory. It’s not “experimental AI” still in the lab. Our solutions are already deployed at scale, serving 23 customers across the United States and Latin America—and we’ve proudly maintained a 100% renewal rate among active customers. That track record reflects both the trust our customers place in us and the tangible business value we deliver. The broadband industry, a multi-billion-dollar market, is at a crossroads. Too many providers are still relying on outdated thresholds, fragmented telemetry, and inefficient workflows. These legacy approaches are no longer enough to keep up with rising demand, competitive pressures, and ever-higher customer expectations. NRBY was founded to change that.

Is the next wave of 5G growth being shaped more by technology or by spectrum policy? 🤔 GSA’s latest report suggests a nuanced answer: mid-band remains central to 5G deployment, but regulatory changes and expanding device ecosystems are giving fresh momentum to both low-band and mmWave. Recent shifts in auction prices signal a market coming of age, where strategic allocation can drive digital inclusion and lay the groundwork for 6G. As spectrum shutdowns, harmonization, and AI-powered allocation gain traction, the industry is closely watching how these trends will influence global network evolution. What is your perspective on the future of spectrum management and connectivity? Share in the comments! 💬 #5G #DigitalInclusion #SpectrumPolicy #Telecom #Trends

SpinLaunch is proud to announce the closing of $30M in new funding to accelerate the continued buildout of Meridian Space, our LEO broadband constellation. This capital enables continued momentum on several fronts: advancing towards our first customer link in 2026, scaling commercial engagement, and advancing critical technologies. A major step in this journey was the successful full-scale test of our reconfigurable reflectarray antenna, a compact, energy-efficient solution that underpins our low-cost system architecture. This is satcom reimagined - cost-efficient, easier to deploy, and designed around real customer needs. 🚀 🚀 🚀 🛰️ 🛰️ 🛰️ Jan Helbing David Wrenn Matthew Mejía https://lnkd.in/ekrHn3pY

Our third in a series of five articles reviewing Infrastructure growth. This article focuses on BEAD funding. The game has changed for independent broadband operators. With $42.45B in BEAD funding and private capital flooding the market, the financial landscape is brighter than ever—but the path to sustainable growth is also far more complex. It's not just about winning the money; it's about deploying it efficiently. #BEAD #Broadband #Infrastructure
