David Panton shared thisProud to see my daughters recent promotion and internship with ICCU. She has worked hard in school and beginning her journey in the professional working world. Chloe Panton Marlor ICCUDavid Panton shared thisHad one of those full-circle moments last week at the BYUI Communication Department’s Senior Showcase! I ran into Chloe Panton Marlor, a BYUI student I first met at the PRSA Idaho Holiday Party at Melaleuca in December. She told me that after meeting Ginny Hoyle from ICCU at the event, she stayed in touch, and now she’s landed a summer internship with ICCU! 🙌 Chloe was beaming, and I couldn’t help but feel excited for her. It’s a great reminder that showing up does matter, and that PRSA Idaho is making a difference by helping students connect with professionals in meaningful ways. Excited to keep creating more of these opportunities for students and the pros who get to mentor them. #PRSAIdaho #BYUI #Internships #Communications #Networking #Mentorship #StudentSuccess

David Panton reacted on thisDavid Panton reacted on thisLet Claude improve the prompt first One underrated Claude move: Ask it to improve your prompt before answering. Try this: “Improve this prompt for clarity and effectiveness, then answer it.” This works especially well when: -your request feels too broad -you know what you want, but not how to ask -your result keeps missing the mark -you want more structure Why this matters: -Sometimes the issue is not the answer. -It is the way the question was framed. Claude can often turn: -vague into specific -scattered into structured -broad into actionable Concrete takeaway: When you feel stuck, stop guessing at better wording. Let Claude help build the better prompt first.

I’m grateful for the trust, support, and mentorship that have enabled my development as a leader. As I move into this next chapter, I’m excited to expand my impact by supporting operational excellence, driving performance, and contributing at a broader enterprise level. David Panton liked thisDavid Panton liked thisThere was a time when being visible felt like a risk. Not because I didn’t know who I was, but because I didn’t know how the world would respond to it. And when your identity walks into the room before your work does, it changes how you move, what you share, what you hold back. That takes a toll over time. Today, my experience looks different. I get to show up fully. I get to lead, contribute, and build in spaces that see both my identity and my impact. And that didn’t happen by accident. It happened because people chose to create environments where others don’t have to shrink to succeed. That’s what Transgender Day of Visibility means to me. Not just being seen, but being supported once you are. Not just being acknowledged, but being valued for what you bring. Because visibility alone isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting point. The real question is what we do with it. Do we create spaces where people feel safe enough to show up fully? Do we listen to understand, not just respond? Do we make it easier for the next person to walk in and just be… without question? I’m proud of my journey, and even more proud of the work still ahead. Because the goal was never just to be visible. It was to make visibility sustainable. For all of us. 🩵🤍🩷

David Panton liked thisDavid Panton liked thisI spent most of yesterday believing it was Monday so the realization late last night that we were actually heading into Thursday was interesting. Where has my mind been? How’d I lose track of two whole days? Do I need more or less caffeine? What’s going on? LOL! I went to bed a little concerned about my mental state. But here’s the thing I realized after some amazingly energizing meetings today. I am currently having an absolute blast in life and when you are fully engaged with the work you’re doing, it’s easy to lose track of time. What I’m choosing to take from this is simple. When days start to blur together, it may not be a warning sign but it may just be evidence that I’m deeply invested and fully present. So instead of questioning it, I am choosing to honor it because maybe just maybe moments that make time feel irrelevant should be appreciated, not fixed. Wishing you moments that pull you in so deeply that you forget the existence of your calendar! ♥️

David Panton liked thisDavid Panton liked thisBeing a working mom is one of the hardest, most rewarding things I’ve ever done. There are days I feel like I’m crushing it at work… and then question if I gave enough at home. And other days, I’m all in with my family and wondering if I’m falling behind in my goals. The balance? It’s not always pretty and it’s definitely not perfect. But here’s what I know for sure… Providing for your family, chasing your goals, and showing your kids what hard work, resilience, and ambition look like. THAT is something to be incredibly proud of. If you’ve ever felt stretched thin, overwhelmed, or even a little isolated in this season… you are not alone. Not even close. There are so many of us out here doing our absolute best every single day. Surround yourself with people who support you. Who understand your vision. Who don’t make you feel guilty for building a life you’re proud of: for you and your family. Because being a working mom isn’t a weakness… It’s a superpower. And you’re doing better than you think. #WorkingMomLife #MomStrong #WomenWhoLead #BossMom #RealLifeBalance #YouAreNotAlone #MomLifeUnfiltered #ProudMom #KeepGoing #MorehouseMindset

David Panton reacted on thisDavid Panton reacted on thisReality on the left. AI on the right. This stopped me for a minute this morning as I looked back through images from a recent trip. The photograph on the left is mine. Taken on a street in Nassau in the Bahamas. A real place. A real wall. A real lamp post. Real light. Real timing. A real moment that will never happen again in exactly the same way. The image on the right was created by AI from a prompt built around the main visual elements. A colorful mural on the side of a historic building. Warm orange upper wall. Decorative yellow band. Bright turquoise lower wall. Two white framed windows. Grayscale figures in the windows. A black vintage streetlamp in the foreground. Palm tree at the edge. Sidewalk. Curb. Natural daylight. Documentary travel photography feel. And to be fair it is impressive. Very impressive. The quality is good. The color is strong. At a glance it feels polished and convincing. But it is also too perfect. Too clean. Too arranged. And if you look closely you start to notice things that are just not quite right. The details in the windows. The feel of it. The subtle tells. It creates something that looks like reality without ever having lived in it. AI can generate an image. It cannot stand where I stood. It cannot feel the heat off the street. It cannot hear the sounds of the city. It cannot decide in the moment to shift the settings on the camera. It cannot choose to underexpose slightly because that is what the light calls for. It cannot change shutter speed to deal with movement in the palm leaves. It cannot respond to life as it unfolds in front of the lens. It can imitate the outcome. But what it cannot do….. It cannot live the moment. My great grandfather photographed the Titanic. That was not just an image. That was a moment in time captured forever. Truth held in light. History caught before it slipped away. That is what photography has always been at its best. Not just making pictures but capturing reality. As this technology keeps improving and it will I actually think real photography becomes more valuable not less. Because the more artificial the world becomes the more people will hunger for what is true. What was actually there. What was actually seen. What was actually felt. Those of us still writing with light still chasing real moments still making decisions in the field still freezing truth one frame at a time may become even more important in the years ahead.

Great Leadership is not possible w/o Great Team Members. Not all ideas from the Leader are the best. Not all ideas from the Team are the best. Ideas discussed by and with the Leader and the Team can become the best and maybe even be great. Great Leaders value the ideas of the Team. The Team will follow a Great Leader.

Influential leaders understand that the success of their organization is directly linked to their team’s success. By surrounding themselves with people who are experts in their field, they can harness the collective skills and knowledge of their team to help the organization achieve its vision and goals. Great leaders embrace the expertise of those around them because there’s no shame in admitting that you don’t know everything. In fact, acknowledging your own limitations and seeking out help and guidance is a sign of strength, not weakness. So embrace the opportunity to learn from others and surround yourself with people who can challenge you to be your best self. By actively seeking out those more knowledgeable than you, you can learn new things and expand your understanding of the world, which will only benefit the people you are entrusted to serve.

Curiosity is the spark that fuels growth. When we approach challenges with curiosity instead of judgment, we open the door to creativity, innovation, and stronger relationships. Curiosity helps us: Ask better questions. Challenge assumptions. See opportunities where others see obstacles. Leaders who stay curious create environments where learning thrives and people feel safe to share ideas. 🔁 Focus for the week: In your next meeting or conversation, replace one statement with a curious question. Notice how it shifts the dialogue. "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." — Albert Einstein

Great teams don’t fear mistakes—they learn from them. Errors are a cost of doing business. But if your response to mistakes is punishment, you won’t prevent failure—you’ll GUARANTEE it!! Fear-based leadership kills innovation. It creates silence where there should be solutions, and hesitation where there should be BOLD action. Your smartest people will start second-guessing themselves—and when that happens, profitability always takes a hit. Here’s the key: 👉 Avoid BIG mistakes by fostering a culture where small ones are talked about, learned from, and moved past. 👉 Hire smart people—and let them do smart people things. 👉 Be the kind of leader your team runs to with a problem, not from. Lead with trust. Win with courage. If you want to know more about Leadership and how to create a successful culture of trust and encouragement, I’m happy to chat and share my thoughts. #LeadershipMatters #TeamCulture #SmartLeadership #PsychologicalSafety #BusinessGrowth #TrustAndLeadership #InnovationCulture #PeopleFirst #NoFearLeadership #LeadBoldly

If the wind shifts, so should you. Replace complaint cycles with decision cycles. The best leaders don’t waste energy explaining why the plan no longer works—they gather data, recalibrate, and move. Because strategy isn’t meant to survive unchanged. It’s meant to evolve with the moment. #Leadership #Strategy #TeamAlignment #ChangeLeadership #PeopleStrategy #Springwell

Leadership isn’t a position, it's an influence The secret to inspiring action across your team is to: Shift your focus from authority to influence. Leadership isn’t just about a title or corner office—real leaders inspire, motivate, and elevate those around them, regardless of their position on the org chart. Influence starts with trust. The most impactful leaders listen first, show empathy, and lead by example. They create an environment where people feel heard and empowered. Want to build your influence? Try these approaches: - Encourage open feedback and collaboration - Recognise and celebrate team wins, big or small - Invest time in building authentic relationships True leadership is measured not by how many people report to you, but by how many you empower to grow. What’s one way you’ve seen influence drive results in your organisation? Share your thoughts below! 🚀 🌿Echo by Sanju

Sometimes the smallest fixes have the loudest impact. As leaders, we’re naturally drawn to big moves. Transformational projects, strategic initiatives, major system rollouts. Big things feel significant, impressive—worth our attention and investment. But I’ve learned to never underestimate the power of a quick win—the kind of simple, fast change that immediately improves someone’s day. I remember when we tweaked just one sentence in a confusing customer email. It seemed trivial at first—a small wording adjustment, barely noticeable. Within days, customer frustration dropped significantly, fewer support tickets flooded in, and our frontline team felt immediate relief. The change was tiny, but the message it sent was clear: “We’re paying attention, we understand you, and your experience matters.” Leaders often overlook quick wins because they don’t seem important enough. But these small fixes build trust, boost morale, and prove to our teams and our customers that we’re genuinely listening. What’s the best quick win your team has implemented lately? Let’s celebrate these “small” victories together. #LeadershipInsights #QuickWins #OperationalLeadership #TeamMorale #SmallChangesBigImpact

Leadership is more than a title or a position of authority; it is a profound form of service. When you step into the role of a leader, you are choosing to prioritize the needs of others above your own. True leadership transcends power or control, it is about making a difference, inspiring growth, and creating a positive impact in the lives of those you serve. As a leader, you are entrusted with the opportunity to guide, uplift, and empower others toward a greater purpose. This is not just a responsibility; it is a privilege. When we talk about leadership as service, we highlight the moral and ethical dimensions of being a leader. You are called to lead with integrity, humility, and compassion. It’s not about personal gain or basking in the limelight, it’s about fostering a culture where others can thrive. Imagine the ripple effect you create when your actions inspire trust, your words motivate progress, and your vision ignites a shared sense of purpose. That’s the power of servant leadership, and it starts with you. Servant leadership is not just a philosophy, it’s a way of life. It challenges you to see leadership as an act of giving, of placing others before yourself. This doesn’t mean neglecting your own needs or aspirations but aligning them with the greater good. By focusing on empowering others, you create a dynamic where people feel valued, heard, and supported. You are not just managing tasks; you are nurturing potential, fostering growth, and shaping a future where everyone wins.

Tips for Great Leaders: Lead by Example Your actions set the tone. Show integrity, accountability, and resilience—people will follow what you model more than what you say. Communicate with Clarity and Empathy Great leaders listen more than they speak. Be transparent, but also tune into the emotional undercurrents of your team. Empower, Don’t Micromanage Trust your team with responsibility. Give them space to grow, make decisions, and even fail—then support them through it. Stay Curious and Keep Learning Leadership isn’t static. Read widely, seek feedback, and stay open to new ideas—even from unexpected sources. Make Decisions with Courage and Compassion Tough calls are part of the job. Balance logic with empathy, especially when your choices impact others deeply.

From paycheck-focused to future-focused is one of the most powerful shifts any leader can create. When employees are stuck worrying about survival—covering bills, handling emergencies, just making it to the next pay period—they operate in constant stress. That kind of pressure quietly drains engagement and performance. But when workers feel genuinely protected, something changes. Their mindset lifts. They stop thinking only about getting by and start thinking about getting ahead. Instead of asking, “How do I survive here?” they begin asking, “How do I grow here?” That mindset shift affects everything. Confidence shows up in better attendance, stronger teamwork, and higher productivity. People who feel secure are more willing to take initiative and invest in their roles. They collaborate more. They plan longer term. Retention becomes natural because employees finally feel safe enough to picture a future with the organization. Uncomfortable realities like accidents and critical illness don’t disappear just because leaders ignore them. Addressing those needs through supplemental benefits and open communication gives employees breathing room. And breathing room creates loyalty. The best transit and union leaders understand that protecting people isn’t just compassionate—it’s strategic. When employees aren’t distracted by fear, they bring their best selves to work. That’s how organizations move from barely holding on to confidently moving forward together. Create protection, and you create possibility. #MindsetShift #ProtectionBuildsLoyalty #FutureFocused #IncomeProtection #SupplementalBenefits #ATUUnion #UnionStrong #WorkplaceGrowth #RetentionMatters #EngagementDrivesPerformance #SeenValValuedProtected #LeadAhead #FinancialSecurity #AFSCME

A manager can be highly capable and still struggle to earn trust. Because trust does not come from competence alone. It comes from emotional predictability. A team notices simple things: Do you stay calm when pressure rises? Do you change tone depending on who is in the room? Do your promises survive deadlines? Do people feel safe bringing difficult truths to you? Trust is rarely built during presentations or strategy meetings. It is built in ordinary interactions: How you respond to mistakes. How you handle disagreement. How you speak when nobody powerful is listening. People decide whether they trust a manager long before they openly say it. And once trust forms, performance changes. Communication becomes cleaner. Ownership improves. Energy becomes more constructive. Because trust removes invisible friction. That is why some managers get effort without asking twice. And others struggle despite authority. — Bhushan Kulkarni Author, The Irresistible Manager ♻️ Repost if this resonates ➕ Follow Bhushan Kulkarni (PCC-ICF) (EF-IAF) for grounded leadership insights that hold up in the real world
