This week alone, I got three completely different answers about vacant land coverage from three different insurance companies. • One carrier said: “We don’t cover vacant land at all.” • Another told me: “Our homeowners policy automatically covers it — as long as there’s no structure.” • A third said: “We can cover it with an endorsement… it’s $9 per year.” Same question. Three different answers. And that’s just one small example of the moving parts we juggle every single day as insurance agents. From the outside, insurance can look simple. “Does my home policy cover this?” feels like a yes-or-no question. But the real answer is usually: 👉 It depends on the carrier. 👉 It depends on the policy form. 👉 It depends on endorsements. 👉 It depends on how the land is being used.
