In my experience leading projects across retail and IT, I’ve noticed a common theme: the biggest challenges aren’t always technical…..they’re normally about alignment. I’ve seen projects with the right budget, tools, and timelines still struggle because teams weren’t fully aligned on the “why” behind the work. On the flip side, I’ve seen projects succeed because everyone was crystal clear on the goal and committed to getting there together. One thing that’s worked well for me is spending time upfront making sure every stakeholder understands what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how their role makes an impact. It saves time, reduces friction, and keeps momentum when challenges inevitably pop up. 💭 Curious: What’s one strategy you use to keep teams aligned during big initiatives?

Most performance issues aren’t people problems. They’re process problems. When expectations are unclear, workflows break down, and accountability gets fuzzy, even strong teams struggle. I learned this on a tech project when a bloated schedule buried the team’s focus. Across retail and digital initiatives, I’ve honed techniques to prioritize and streamline for impact. In 2025, with 77% of PMs citing time waste as a top hurdle per PMI, here’s how I drive productivity. The overload hit during a marketplace launch: endless tasks drowned critical deliverables, risking delays. A longer to-do list wasn’t the answer, structure was. 🎯 Ruthless Prioritization I use the MoSCoW method to rank tasks by impact. For an e-commerce project, focusing on core features over nice-to-haves kept us on track. HBR says 70% of time waste comes from misaligned priorities, focus sharpens output. 🎯 Timebox for Focus Distractions kill momentum. I set Pomodoro sprints for a sales platform’s team, boosting deep work on complex tickets. PMI notes 65% of productivity gains tie to structured intervals, timeboxing is the guardrail. 🎯 Batch and Delegate Multitasking is a myth. Five years ago, I inherited a documentation nightmare. 22 retail locations running DOS-based POS systems. No network. No visibility. Corporate's only insight? Emailed reports. My first task: replace everything. Two weeks per location. Set up systems, load inventory, train staff. I created training manuals to leave behind—detailed enough to be useful, rough enough that I've been updating them ever since. The result? A hodgepodge of 80-100 documents, videos, and graphics scattered across folders. My dream: one consolidated binder with cross-references, diagrams, QR codes to videos, and a proper table of contents. But when would I find the time? 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗜—𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲. I fed everything into an LLM at once. It understood what I wanted. It just couldn't handle that much context in one shot. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱: → Create a template for how each manual should look → Feed one document at a time → Generate a quick-reference graphic for each → Repeat I've completed 11 manuals this way. Each takes 30-60 minutes between formatting, proofreading, and creating the visual. But I have 80-100 left. And I'm training two new managers who need these materials 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝗦𝗼 𝗜'𝗺 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁. The workflow I'm designing: Claude plans the process and generates the script Script feeds each raw manual to a sub-agent Sub-agent applies the template and outputs summarized text I drop the summary into a Canva graphic template Why not let AI generate the graphics directly? I tried. NotebookLM and Nano Banana both produce visuals with spelling errors or weird formatting. The template approach gives me quality control without the manual labor. This is what practical AI adoption actually looks like: not one magic prompt, but iterative workflow development. Finding where automation helps, where it breaks, and building around the gaps. Most organizations are designed around titles and boxes (sometimes bubbles). What we rarely map are the spaces in between such things. I like to call those spaces interfaces. When interfaces fail, teams and people start to blame each other. When there´s clarity, everything moves easier. Mapping an organization is pretty easy. Mapping who hands what to whom, under what conditions, following what feedback loop, that´s the real challenge. The irony is that most of the problems usually labeled as "miscommunication" are just interfaces issues. By fixing this layer from the source, half of our beloved "alignment meetings" would disappear overnight! #futureofwork #strategicHR
