That’s what makes this so powerful. His love was never based on us having it all together, it was rooted in who He is. Because of Him, grace is real, forgiveness is available, and your story can be completely changed.

After 15 years of building and leading teams at Amazon, I’ve made a deliberate choice to transition from senior management to individual contributor with a requirement of demonstrating I meet the technical bar for Principal Security Engineer looming in my near future. From 2011 to 2022, I led IT infrastructure teams that launched 92 operations facilities during Amazon’s fastest growth period, including building the technology backbone for Amazon Air and its $1.5B Air Hub at KCVG. In 2022, I moved into security engineering leadership for Customer Logistics Security, owning the infrastructure security transformation across 3,800+ WWOps and WWGS facilities and Operational Technology & Industrial Control System environments at a scale few organizations on earth operate at. Over the last three and a half years, I was increasingly doing two jobs: leading teams and driving the technical architecture. Something had to give. I chose to go deeper. The problems I’m solving now require dedicated technical leadership. Modernizing security architecture across Amazon’s entire global physical operations footprint is not a part-time job. None of this would have happened without my boss Biju Mathew, who didn’t just support this transition but actively championed a non-traditional career path decision I asked for; quality people leadership right there! 15 years in. Still learning. Still building
