Brian L. Ring shared this🔥 The "SaaS-pocalypse" isn't the death of software. It’s the death of crappy software—and the rise of #CraftSaaS. The dirty secret about the corporatization and private-equit-ization of SaaS is that it’s turned into a bit of a dark-pattern pricing gambit by bottom-fishing venture types. I won’t name names – but, well, never mind I will: Evernote’s owner Bending Spoons seems to like this approach. (Personal experience.) But it's not just Evernote, it's the private equity mindset that never used to exist in software but seems pervasive today, to the point that even the VC's seem to have embraced SaaS-as-insurance-product. Well, we're three months into agentic coding and that’s about to change. Hi, I'm Brian Ring, an agentic coder, and I’m building a highly focused, highly complex AI-powered video system called WebinarVault. I host a webinar and I desperately needed a simple way to auto-chop and clip my webinars instantly. That’s why I built WebinarVault and it’s why WebinarVault is so good & only getting better. (I'm a product marketer that does comp intel, as a result, it's great for that too.) The era of #Craft #SaaS is upon us. Now you tell me, is there a SaaS product you truly love? Am I being too cynical? What's something you’d call "Craft SaaS"? Hit that comment button. https://lnkd.in/gMnwZe-g

Brian L. Ring shared thisThe majority of TV viewers actually don't hate ads at all. But if there's one thing that does seem to frustrate them, it is the timing of those breaks. In my latest Winter 2026💥 #FutureOfTV.Live TV Survey I asked viewers how they'd like to take their "ad break" medicine. I gave them three options. And then I took that proprietary data and dropped it into Nano Banana Pro. Either there is someone out there that used "roads" and "tolls" to visualize this idea previously, or we have indeed passed the point where the LLMs are "smarter than we are"... If you love this visualization and also want data on Background TV viewing, Screensavers, CTV App rankings, and much more - be sure to sign up for the full report. You'll also get access to my chaptered quarterly webinars! https://lnkd.in/ehfcVnmj

Brian L. Ring shared this🔮 #FutureOfTV.Live on Friday was one of my least attended, but it was also one of my very best. Why? Well first off there're a few insanely insightful infographs in my report which drove up my confidence. You've never seen anything like this before. It's courtesy of proprietary data & Nano Banana Pro. So, go sign up. Then, all my contributors had particularly interesting thoughts - here's one, where Matthew Keys essentially paints a very specific picture of what will happen to the TV business post-Netflix acquisition: "We're kind of living in John Malone's World on steroids, the 500 plus channel world ... and when you talk to financial analysts, as I have over the past six months, they tell you that when it comes to the channels that people are watching, they're seeking out premium content. They're not watching 500 plus. They're watching maybe a dozen and when the great shake out happens in both traditional linear and in streaming, we're probably going to have something like 100 to 150 channels left over." 😱 Readers, what do you think? Watch his take and let me know. The slide is one of 20 brilliant slides in my latest #FutureOfTV.Live Winter 2026 which provides insight like: * How many people engage in Background TV viewing? And why? * Has the Be Right Back slate problem gotten better over the past year? * Do people like their Screensaver? Do they love it? How does this compare to last year? * What is the preferred ad break pattern for most consumers? * And MOST IMPRESSIVELY, inside this report is a very special Claude Interactive Artifact for Q15, with 1,025 open-ended responses on the best and worst ad break patterns across ALL platforms. YouTube, Netflix, Pluto - all of them. Very insightful data folks. 🧠 Know what's smarter than Claude? Claude with my proprietary data ... Click to www.RingDigital.tv and hit that orange button

Brian L. Ring reposted thisLet's be clear about what happened at Charter during the last three months of 2025: They convinced 44,000 customers to sign up for a money-losing business. Charter no longer considers Spectrum TV to be a revenue generator, because it isn't. Instead, pay TV is viewed as an added value to broadband — a way to keep current Spectrum Internet customers from switching away to fixed-wireless and Starlink, and to gain new customers to that product, which offers better margin for Charter. Did that happen in Q4? Nope. Charter saw more than 100,000 broadband disconnects — which indicates to me that nearly 100 percent of Spectrum TV's growth came from existing broadband customers who were enticed by better marketing efforts, who understand that Spectrum TV offers live sports via traditional TV and cost savings on bundled, network-owned streaming apps. CEO Chris Winfrey proved my theory when he said that Spectrum TV is "a video product that supports broadband acquisition and broadband retention." So, take it for what it is. Spectrum TV is no longer a product of its own — it's a value add for Spectrum Internet.Brian L. Ring reposted thisCharter Communications reported a rare net increase in Spectrum TV customers during Q4, but ongoing broadband losses weighed on the company's revenue. https://lnkd.in/gWcn3JNxCharter sees rare growth in pay TV during Q4, but revenue downCharter sees rare growth in pay TV during Q4, but revenue down

Brian L. Ring liked thisBrian L. Ring liked thisI've sat through a lot of NewFronts decks. Most of them blur together by Thursday. But The E.W. Scripps Company is walking in this year with something different — a 24/7 live sports FAST channel built around women's leagues, 100+ live events, and a point of view: free is not the discount tier anymore. This wasn't just empty promises. They built toward it. The audience showed up. That's what a conviction bet looks like when it pays off. Live sports. FAST. Women's leagues. In the infinitely configurable world of IP broadcasting, one of the big questions moving forward is which vendors will take the lead in delivering software-based replay solutions for live sports. At the Andrews Hub in Sydney, traditional replay operators are getting hands-on with new approaches that push beyond the familiar workflows they’ve relied on for years. What powers replay 'under the hood' is evolving quickly. It will be interesting to see which vendors lean into that shift and which risk being left behind as the industry moves forward. #TFC #replays #BroadcastTechnology #LiveContents #Broadcast #RemoteProduction #IBC2025

Another disguised AI miss “Broadcom’s Earnings: Singing ‘Deck the Halls’ While The Data Sings 'Not Like AI Boom At All' “…Broadcom is now one of the most systemically important companies in global markets. And beneath the festive cheer of the AI narrative, the valuations tell a much colder story….. It’s the financial equivalent of watching customers flood into a store, fill their carts, walk up to the checkout counter… and then leave without paying. The aisles look busy, the shelves look empty, the activity looks real—until you open the register and realize it barely moved. That’s Broadcom this quarter. Revenue is rising, receivables are ballooning, and cash flow is falling behind both—clear evidence that the company is booking demand, not monetizing it. This isn’t what the start of an AI supercycle looks like. It’s what the end of one often feels like: noise, motion, and excitement… with very little money actually coming in….” Coastal Journal https://lnkd.in/ehYwHSHe

Monthly earnings is up in SF—while every other AV city saw drops. What do you think happened? San Francisco was one of the earliest AV markets—Waymo went fully commercial there in June 2024. Yet despite a drop in ride density and pay per unit, monthly earnings increased. San Francisco stands apart from every other AV-active market in our dataset. While driver pay fell in Austin, Phoenix, and LA—monthly earnings in SF increased, even as trips per hour, utilization, and unit pay all declined. That raises questions. Are fewer drivers staying active—and working longer hours? Is platform supply adjusting to early AV rollout? Or is demand shifting in ways that concentrate earnings? Our AV Impact Report compares these city-level trends to the national baseline—and helps clarify where AV activity might be playing a role. 📊 Austin, SF, LA, Phoenix 📉 Year-over-year changes in pay, volume, and utilization 📍 Local vs national baselines Download the report for a deeper look into the insights: https://lnkd.in/drHnjtCS

Among the better use cases for AI are those for IT Operations. Enterprises rely on sophisticated networks that serve as the nervous system for information flows. The Network Operations Centers (NOC) that manage, upgrade, and remediate network performance often operate in a flood of noisy data that can be better analyzed, triaged, and augmented by AI. With Southern California Edison (SCE) and NVIDIA , World Wide Technology is working to implement AI that improves network performance, a critical function for Utilities with significant tangible ROI.

Can an LED the width of a human hair replace a laser? New research from UC Santa Barbara suggests yes. By redesigning micro-LEDs with distributed Bragg reflectors, the team achieved 20% higher air-side output, over 130% higher substrate-side output, and 30% lower beam divergence. Electrical efficiency improved by 35%, with a 46% boost in wall-plug efficiency. Inside data centers, lasers face thermal limits. Micro-LEDs can run hotter with simpler cooling, potentially reducing cost and improving reliability as AI workloads surge. A pattern I see with teams and partners getting started in voice AI: The ones scaling fast didn't start with the most impressive use case. They started with the most winnable one. 🦾 Simple call flow ☎️ . Clear cost savings ⏰ . Quick deployment. Internal buy-in earned in weeks, not months. That foundation is what lets them go after the complex stuff later, with budget, trust, and momentum behind them. We're breaking down exactly how those first use cases got picked next week. If you're a partner exploring voice AI, this one's for you!

In this keynote from the Morgan Stanley TMT Conference 2026, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang discusses the rapid evolution of AI, the transition to a "token-based" economy, and why he believes compute has become the fundamental driver of global GDP. The Evolution of AI: Three Inflection Points Huang outlines the rapid progression of AI over the last two years through three distinct phases: Generative AI: The ability to convert information from one form to another and auto-regressively generate tokens [12:15]. Reasoning (01 Models): Moving beyond simple generation to grounded, fact-based reasoning and self-correction, which consumes significantly more compute (roughly 1,000x more than initial models) [13:38]. Agentic AI: The current frontier where AI uses tools, accesses files, and performs complex tasks. Huang highlights "Open Claw" as a revolutionary software release that surpassed Linux in downloads within just three weeks [15:31]. The "AI Factory" and Token Economics Huang redefines the modern data center as an AI Factory [19:01]. Compute = Revenue: He argues that a company’s revenue is now directly correlated to its compute capacity. Just as a physical factory is power-limited, an AI factory's output is limited by "tokens per watt" [21:01]. Inference King: Huang claims NVIDIA remains the "Inference King," providing an order of magnitude better performance-per-watt than competitors, which translates to the cheapest tokens per dollar [22:06]. Agentic Software: Every future software company will become an "agentic" company, renting digital experts (tokens) rather than just licensing tools [23:43]. Strategic Investments and Partnerships OpenAI: 🔥 Huang confirms NVIDIA has finalized a $30 billion investment in OpenAI, noting that OpenAI is expected to go public toward the end of the year [32:24]. 🔥 Infrastructure Expansion: NVIDIA has helped expand OpenAI’s capacity beyond Azure to include OCI and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to meet massive demand [33:19]. New Players: He mentions the emergence of MSL, a new AI lab requiring "a few million GPUs," adding to the massive demand from Meta and other tech giants [34:20]. The Next Frontier: Physical AI Huang predicts that the next decade will be defined by Physical AI—AI with physical awareness, understanding of laws of physics, and causality [35:12]. NVIDIA is leading this through models like Cosmos (physical AI), Alpamo (autonomous vehicles), and Groot (humanoid robotics) [35:58]. He mentions a "co-innovation lab" with Eli Lilly and Company to apply these full-stack capabilities to digital biology [37:45]. Future Outlook Huang concludes that we are only at the beginning of this journey. He predicts that the entire IT industry—a multi-trillion dollar sector—will shift to being fueled by compute and token consumption, effectively making Compute = GDP for nations and corporations alike [40:20]. #AI is all everyone is talking about. It's inevitable that we're going to debate and discuss the technology at The RedTech News Summit for #Radio and #Audio CXOs this June. #ArtificialIntelligence has evolved far beyond simple chatbots. Modern #agenticAI now operates like an automated virtual team working behind the scenes, capable of managing a wide range of tasks inside a radio station. #AIAgents can evaluate news relevance, script and voice conversational audio podcasts, or analyze historical data to optimize ad inventory and recover missed revenue opportunities. Christian Schalt cuts through the hype to showcase AI agent models built expressly for radio and audio—already powering major networks to boost content output, streamline production, and unlock new revenue streams. The RedTech News CXO Summit is from 18-21 June 2026 on the Costa Brava in Spain and is supported by Xperi Inc., RCS, Lawo, Ferncast GmbH, Orban, StreamGuys, Triton Digital, Quu Inc.and Zeno Media.

Very excited to join the Entertainment Technology Center @ USC for Perpetual Intelligence's first public demo at NAB on Sun, 4/6 at noon. David King and Erik Weaver will be exploring how to protect creative intent and intellectual property in the age of AI-assisted filmmaking. As AI tools start to become embedded in production workflows, tracking both human-to-human and human-to-AI interactions is no longer optional - it's essential for establishing provenance and enabling copyrightability. We’ll also dive deeper into how unprotected AI models can compromise not just IP security, but your ability to assert ownership and demonstrate originality — key requirements for legal protection and distribution. Learn how our integrated toolset brings transparency, accountability, and trust to AI-driven productions, making provenance traceable and copyright claims defensible across projects of any scale. #ai #aitools #copyright #provenance #NAB #contentcreation #aimodels #filmmaking Thomas C.
