We’re investing $1.3 billion in Georgia and creating 1,000 new jobs with plans for a new high-tech fulfillment center in Carnesville. We’re excited to keep growing our presence and investing in the communities we serve.
Walmart, Inc. plans to build a high-tech, next generation fulfillment center in Carnesville, representing a projected 1,000 new jobs and $1.3 billion in investment in Franklin County. Walmart employs more than 65,300 store and facility associates in Georgia. In addition, the company’s operations support another 167,600 supplier jobs, reflecting how one large investment creates opportunities across the local supply chain. Children's Miracle Network shared some pretty incredible news: together, Walmart and Sam's Club associates, customers and members helped raise more than $39 million through this year’s campaign. It happened one donation at a time — at checkouts, online and through creative fundraisers led by associates in communities across the country. And that’s what makes this campaign so special. Because we’re part of communities across the country, the funds raised at our stores and clubs support the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital caring for kids and families right there in the community. So, what does that actually look like for someone just getting started at Walmart Global Tech? For Reese Brady, Claudia Espejo, Ava Muffoletto and Lisbeth Echeverria, it looks a little different for each of them. Some started as interns and came back full time. One found her way to Global Tech after starting as an Online Pickup & Delivery associate in a store. What they have in common is the chance to work on technology that reaches millions of people, keep growing their skills and build careers that do not have to follow one straight path. We caught up with them about what brought them here, what brought them back and what they’d tell someone hoping to get their own start in tech.

Dolly Parton had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like a neighbor. Over the years, Walmart had the privilege of partnering with Dolly in so many ways. But the moments we'll remember most weren't about a product or a stage. They were the moments when her heart for people came through. In 2024, we stood together in East Tennessee as communities began recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Dolly was there for her neighbors, just as she'd been so many times before. That was Dolly: larger than life, but always close to home. Her legacy reaches far beyond country music. It's in the books placed in children's hands, the communities she lifted up, the laughter she sparked and the countless people she inspired to be a little kinder to one another. We are deeply grateful to have called Dolly a partner and a friend. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. 💙
Dolly Parton had a rare way of making the world feel a little brighter. Not just through her music, but through the way she showed up for people. I had the chance to spend time with Dolly a couple of years ago. It was a bit like meeting a hero. I had long admired her commitment to putting books in the hands of kids. Reading opened up the world for me when I was young, and I admired the way Dolly gave millions of children that same chance to imagine what might be possible for them. But getting to see her in action was special. She joined us for a Morning Meeting, and later that day we were together in East Tennessee as communities were recovering from Hurricane Helene. I remember watching how naturally she connected with people there. How she brought her family. It was more than just a financial contribution to her. There was no distance between Dolly Parton the icon and Dolly the person. She was simply there for people who needed her. That stayed with me. Dolly never seemed to forget who she was, where she came from or what mattered most. She built an extraordinary life, and then used so much of it to lift others up. There will be plenty said about the songs, the performances and the career she leaves behind. All well deserved. But I’ll remember her heart. Thinking of her family, friends and everyone who loved her. She will be deeply missed.
