We’re proud to spotlight AFDP recent graduate, Adam Filipek, whose Walmart journey has been shaped by growth, relationships, and a willingness to take on new challenges. ✨ Originally from Old Bridge, New Jersey, and a graduate of Rutgers University, Adam has been with Walmart for a little over four years. He began his journey as an Online Pickup & Delivery associate in New Jersey before joining AFDP and continuing to grow his career. Through each rotation, Adam strengthened his technical skills, gained experience across different areas of the business, and became a more confident, adaptable, and well-rounded professional. He credits the people as the most valuable part of his AFDP experience, from the mentors and teams who supported him to the AFDP Program Office and the lasting friendships he built within his cohort. 🤝 Today, Adam is part of the Walmart Connect Sales Enablement team in Walmart’s Hoboken office, where he builds dashboards, improves internal tools, and creates resources that help sales teams make more data-driven decisions. We’re proud to spotlight an AFDP alum, Nora Degens, whose journey has been shaped by growth, connection, and cross functional experience.✨ Originally from Portland, Oregon, and a graduate of Northwestern University, Nora joined Walmart nearly three years ago and has made the most of the AFDP experience along the way. Through rotations in Global Sourcing, Corporate Strategic Partnerships, Sam’s Operations Finance, and Data Ventures, she gained exposure across all four segments of the business. She credits AFDP’s rotational structure as the most impactful part of the program, giving her a deeper understanding of how interconnected the business is while also helping her build relationships across Walmart.🤝 Today, Nora supports long range planning on the Transportation Finance team, helping shape strategy within the transportation business. Outside of work, one of her favorite parts of living in Northwest Arkansas is the strong sense of community, from farmers markets and First Friday events to the winter square lightings and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.🍃🎨📈

AFDPs spotted on campus‼️🚲 When starting out as AFDPs, Jacob Smithpeters and Bryce Coppin were excited about career growth at Walmart, but one unexpected highlight of the New Home Office has been how well it supports their favorite way to commute: biking. With direct access to the Razorback Greenway, a connection to the Sam’s Club Office, dedicated bike paths into campus, and plenty of bike racks, riding to work is seamless. The on-campus MoveHub also offers free mountain bike rentals, BCycle e-bikes, helmets, and ride-to-work incentives that turn miles ridden into points for cycling merchandise, including the jerseys and jackets featured here 👏 For Jacob and Bryce, biking is a mental reset before the day starts and a healthy way to unwind after it ends. The New Home Office doesn’t just support professional development. Training Week was a success! 💼✨ In between rotations, our AFDP cohorts come together for a dedicated week of development and connection. First years dove into Leadership Blueprint, sharpening their presentation and leadership skills. Second years participated in Career Launchpad, focused on preparing for their next chapter in a Walmart role post program. A huge thank you to our panelists and guest speakers who took the time to share their experiences, insights, and advice. Your investment in our growth made a lasting impact. We wrapped up the week giving back at Samaritan Farm, making an impact together as a group. Grateful for the growth, the community, and the opportunity to keep learning. 🌱

AFDPs spotted on campus‼️: Ragini Parkhi and Lauren Sanders spending time together at one of the many balconies on Walmart’s new Home Office campus, overlooking the trail that winds through campus and connects to the greenway. “I love spending time on the Upstream balcony because it has a beautiful view of campus and is a great place for me to get some fresh air and enjoy lunch!” – Lauren 🍃 During this rotation, one of their favorite traditions was coffee runs at the former Home Office. Since moving into Upstream on the new campus, that routine has naturally turned into walks along the campus trail, offering a new way to connect, recharge, and enjoy the space. For Ragini, these trails are what make the campus feel special. “My favorite part of campus is the trails. We’re proud to spotlight a current AFDP, Hunter Hook, CPA , whose journey is rooted in community, growth, and meaningful partnership. 💼🌱 A Bentonville, Arkansas native, Hunter returned home after attending Harding University and joined Walmart full time nearly two years ago, following his start as an AFDP intern in Supply Chain FP&A. Since then, his rotations have taken him across Corporate Real Estate Finance supporting the New Home Office launch and Walmart U.S. Strategy, where he contributed to capital approvals, business reviews, and cross functional KPI tracking. In his third rotation with Sam’s Club Merchandise Finance, Hunter supports Pantry, Consumables, and Wellness categories, partnering closely with merchants to drive profitability and elevate the member experience. His work includes supporting Member’s Mark launches and Better For You health initiatives. Hunter credits AFDP for the people and development opportunities that shaped his growth. Outside of work, he enjoys life in Northwest Arkansas with his wife, Ashley, staying active downtown, volunteering, and giving back through the City of Bentonville Mayor’s Council. 🌟 #AFDP #LifeAtWalmart #SamsClub #FinanceCareers #NWA
