“Thank you, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), for this incredible honor. A publisher is only as good as the songwriters it serves, and at Sony Music Publishing we are fortunate to work with the very best songwriters in the world. So this really is a thank you to them. To every writer who trusted us with their work, vision, and livelihood: we don’t take that for granted. Your songs are why we do this. And to our incredible Sony Music Publishing team, thank you for all that you do for our writers every single day behind the scenes. Congratulations to all of tonight’s honorees! Thank you.” — Ari Gelaw, SVP, Creative A&R

We are deeply saddened by the passing of singer-songwriter, music legend, actress, author, businesswoman and philanthropist Dolly Parton. Every superlative you could apply to her would be accurate. Dolly was a monumental talent and trailblazer whose extraordinary artistry touched millions around the globe. For nearly three decades, we were lucky she called our record labels and publishing company home. She made songs that became part of our shared vocabulary and crossed genres and generations. Her generosity was as extraordinary as her talent. She created opportunities for others that she herself never had. Dolly showed that an artist’s legacy is measured not only in songs, but in lives changed. We send our deepest condolences to her family, friends and fans around the world. We will always love you.

“There are icons and there are superstars... and then there’s Dolly Parton. A songwriter without equal, she set the standard for telling the human story through song, capturing life’s truths with honesty, warmth and grace. She wrote from a genuine heart that touched people from the hills of eastern Tennessee to every corner of the globe. Miss Dolly, we will always love you.” - Rusty Gaston, Sony Music Publishing Nashville CEO

Remembering Janie Bradford — a songwriter whose work helped lay the foundation for one of music’s most enduring legacies. From co-writing “Money (That’s What I Want)” with Motown founder, Berry Gordy, recorded by Barrett Strong — becoming the label's early breakthrough hit — to songs recorded by Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations and more, Janie’s words became part of the soundtrack of generations. She was also one of Motown’s earliest believers — there from the beginning and later leading Writer Relations for the publishing company Jobete, where she continued advocating for the songwriters behind the music. A remarkable life in music, and a legacy that will continue to be heard. 🤍

"Type Aubrey Landon name and Sony into a search engine together and virtually all of the results are articles and photos about her signing songwriters: Cody Johnson, Randall King, Adam James; her work with hit writers like Brice Long, Jim Beavers (nominated for the Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame) and Hall of Famer Tom Douglas and artists Drew Baldridge and Gabby Barrett. The Belmont University grad has had just two major jobs since she graduated: Nine years at Young Guns Publishing before she joined Rusty Gaston and the gang at Sony in 2022. It’s not hard to see why: Songwriter Brian Fuller, who signed with Sony in 2024, says, “Aubrey has the drive and work ethic of 10 people and I feel so lucky to have her in my corner.”" https://lnkd.in/gNvGKYcP

“Watching Lainey Wilson redefine what’s possible, seeing Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley make history together, watching Kelsea Ballerini break boundaries and new artists like Gabriella Rose prove authenticity still wins — it feels like we’re witnessing something really special.” - Anna Weisband, SVP of Creative A&R, SMP Nashville https://lnkd.in/ghAgvcXU
