Would you give a stranger the shirt off your back? How about a vital organ?  For our own Patterson Dental sales representative Jessi Kocian, the answer was YES. A man from her Texas hometown was in need of a kidney transplant and running out of time when his wife shared his story on social media, where Jessi encountered it.  Jessi saw the post and felt a powerful tug to become a living donor. In April of this year, a successful surgery left Brandon with Jessi’s kidney, and his transformation has been outstanding. For Jessi, donating a kidney has been one of the most meaningful experiences of her life. She says, “If sharing my story encourages even one person to consider becoming a living donor or helps someone in need feel more hopeful, then it’s something I’m happy to do.” This incredible story highlights Jessi’s generosity and compassion, and we are grateful to have such a high-character individual as valued member of the Patterson team!

It’s safe to say this year’s Half-Full Cup golf event was above par. In fact, it was a record-breaking success! Thanks to the generosity of Patterson vendor partners, employees, and supporters, more than $270,000 was raised - a milestone which “tees up” the #PattersonFoundation to make new donations to additional nonprofits and create more impact in our communities. This year’s event welcomed nearly 80 golfers to the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, including Patterson leaders, employees, Patterson Foundation board members, and vendors. The unique setting allows us to build stronger connections that support long-term partnership and collaboration beyond traditional business meetings, and that’s something we’re all FORE. 😉 #WeArePatterson 

Think accounting is just numbers? Think again! Patterson’s accounting team certainly does have a knack for numbers, but they also display curiosity, cross-functional communication, and leadership skills. They are a close-knit team who enjoy working together and find fulfillment in the work they do. In celebration of #NationalToothFairyDay tomorrow, our summer interns packed and delivered oral hygiene kits to Minneapolis-based non-profit Ready, Set, Smile, to help children build healthy habits and confident smiles. This was an opportunity for our interns to learn more about Patterson’s commitment to community and the work we do to support organizations through the #PattersonFoundation. We're proud to support organizations like Ready, Set, Smile, that make oral health more accessible in our communities. Every month, our chief people and communications officer Christine Moore hosts “Lunch with Christine,” a chance for the human resources and communication team members based out of our Minnesota headquarters location to step away from their desks for nourishment, connection, and collaboration. This past week, the “Lunch with Christine” crew made the most of a remaining sunny summer afternoon and took things to the Patterson patio for an alfresco affair. There were hot dogs, hamburgers, potluck style sides, lawn games, and plenty of fresh air to go around.

Congratulations to Patterson Companies CFO Kevin Barry on being named a notable Chief Financial Officer by Twin Cities Business Magazine! The 13 best-in-class executives named in this list have demonstrated the ability to “drive organizational change, manage financial complexity, and find opportunities for innovation.” Kevin has been with Patterson for nearly a decade, and in that time has overseen multiple periods of growth and transformation, including helping lead us through our transition from a public to a private company in 2025 – now that’s leadership beyond the ledger! Late last month, our Sioux Falls, South Dakota animal health team hosted an employee appreciation event in conjunction with the Sioux Falls Power on the Prairie airshow, featuring the U.S. Airforce Thunderbirds in a high energy, awe-inspiring performance. This was the fourth time the Sioux Falls Warehouse has hosted this event, with attendance increasing each time. What began in 2016 with only 25 employees has turned into a gathering for nearly 100, including 45 employees along with their families and friends! In addition to front row seats to watch the airshow, attendees enjoyed a big top tent, outdoor games, a waterslide for kids, and burgers and hotdogs grilled by Department Manager Ray Grismer and Supervisor Dylan Roberson.

Shout-out to our talent team, for modeling our value of “always advancing” and helping build a change-ready Patterson! “As our company has evolved, we recognized the need for a more intentional approach to helping our teams navigate change,” said Christine Webster Moore, our chief people and communications officer. “Our goal was to create a shared way of thinking about change - one that helps people understand the why, believe in the impact, and know what to do next. When those elements come together, we are capable of extraordinary adaptability and growth.” With that direction, Aleisha Lee and Paul Engleson, senior managers with our Talent and Organizational Effectiveness team, led Patterson to adopt the Accelerating Implementation Methodology (AIM), an approach to change management that helps build commitment, reduce resistance, and successfully implement change. Since launching the program, nearly 100 employees have become AIM certified, creating a growing network of change practitioners across our company. As Patterson continues to evolve, that network will continue to help employees not just respond to change, but embrace it with confidence! #WeArePatterson

Our animal health team members recently returned from Austin, Texas, where they attended our annual National Sales Meeting. Part of this multi-day event included an internal trade show where Patterson employees could learn more about specific aspects of our business and culture. Our #PattersonFoundation’s interactive “Dogs Open Doors” booth was a popular stop, where team members could learn about the life-changing impact of assistance dogs. Through the foundation’s grant program, we are proud to support several organizations that train and place remarkable dogs that make every day possible for those who need help most. 🐾💙 Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, made a donation, and took time to learn more about how we’re helping open doors through the power of giving! #WeArePatterson
