This week, a couple dozen interns from state agencies across North Dakota came together for State Intern Day! The day was filled with learning and networking opportunities, as well as a Capitol tour and an ice cream social at the Governor's Residence. State interns do amazing work behind the scenes in nearly every field that helps keep state government running, gaining hands-on experience in their profession while fulfilling degree requirements. Thank you, interns, for all you do for North Dakota!

The North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department has officially reopened Rough Rider State Park, just south of Medora, following a complete campground redesign that expands camping opportunities in one of the state's most popular destinations. The reimagined campground features modern campsites with water and electrical hookups, primitive campsites and upgraded equestrian camping with both individual and group sites equipped with horse corrals. The redesign increases the park's capacity, allowing more visitors to experience the beauty of the North Dakota Badlands while exploring nearby Medora and its many attractions. Whether biking or hiking the Maah Daah Hey Trail, horseback riding through the North Dakota Badlands or simply relaxing around the campsite, Rough Rider State Park is once again ready to welcome campers. Get ready for the new Pride of Dakota Marketplace and the North Dakota Ag in the Classroom Exhibition at the North Dakota State Fair, July 17-25! North Dakota made products, including gourmet food, art, books, jewelry, sporting goods, home decor, apparel, pet items and much more will be for sale at the Pride of Dakota Marketplace, and shoppers will receive a FREE Pride of Dakota tote bag with purchase thanks to the Bank of North Dakota College SAVE plan. All ages can visit the Ag in the Classroom Exhibition to learn and play on a mock farm, learn about North Dakota-grown commodities, enjoy free activity sessions, take home activities and receive free samples of agricultural food products. There will also be live cooking demonstrations and Pride of Dakota product samples for both kids and adults. Monday, July 20, is Pride of Dakota Day at the North Dakota State Fair. Visit the festival tent from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. for a $1 hot dog lunch. All proceeds go to the FFA Foundation. Pride of Dakota will also be giving away free promotional items during the event.
