The Rotary Club of Milwaukee enjoyed a Tyrotarian Tour of the St. Joseph Center including its new affordable senior housing as well as its gorgeous historic chapel. School Sisters of St. Francis Cofoundress Mother Alfons Schmid is responsible for St. Joseph Chapel. She commissioned the architects and even sent them to Europe for inspiration. The Romanesque-style Milwaukee landmark was completed in 1917 after 3 years and 7 months of construction. Thank you to the Sisters for an amazing tour sharing stories of art and architecture as well as service to God and people in need. #Milwaukee #Wisconsin #PlacesOfWorship #Chapels #Art #Architecture

I came home to see the smiling face of Megan Seppmann, MBA, CVP in my mail today! What a perfect capstone to a month of celebrating some very special women in my life. 💙 At our first Rotary Club of Milwaukee lunch in March, I internally celebrated Celia Benton for her thoughtful introduction of her boss, the County Executive. Even more fun when, in turn, the County Executive celebrated the innovative Building Bridges program Celia created. 💙 Then that weekend, I enthusiastically celebrated Cecelia Gore and her very well-deserved Champion for a Cure Award from the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. Truly, a joy to celebrate such an impact, and a personal honor for me. 💙 The next week, Hai Molinaro, MBA and I celebrated Megan's 40 Under 40 Award from the Milwaukee Business Journal, a wonderful night of tribute and reconnecting - and fun! Added bonus was meeting many other inspiring women and celebrating others in my network for being recognized for their impact: Paige Radke, Wendy Cozzens, Caroline Maloney, Jess M. Johnson, Lynn C. Griffith 💙 And THEN we got to celebrate my sister's promotion to Vice President with a chef's table experience at Mason Street Grill - congratulations, Liz Caldwell, I'm so proud of you! #Cheers to women making history in ways big and small! #WomensHistoryMonth #Grateful4GreatFriends

I finally had the chance to listen to JoAnne Anton's interview with Tom Lujak on the Rotary Club of Milwaukee's podcast and I had to stop folding laundry a few times...not just when JoAnne used the term "badass" to describe her mother 😅 but particularly Senator Kohl considering his role "as a business person a responsibility to give back to civic life" - a simple but powerful idea. Strong communities depend on business leaders who see civic engagement and community investment as part of the job. Imagine the impact that could be made, just like Senator Kohl's legacy at Herb Kohl Philanthropies. Thank you for sharing your insight JoAnne! https://lnkd.in/gTdNZKNa
