The countdown is underway for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Artemis II, and we're so proud to have contributed to this mission. 🚀 Liftoff is scheduled for this afternoon at 3:24 PM PDT (6:24 PM EDT) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Four astronauts will spend 10 days traveling around the Moon and back aboard the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft, the first crewed lunar mission in more than 50 years. Janicki has supplied tooling and parts in support of the Artemis program. It's a big day for our team and for everyone who played a role in getting here. This week we hosted engineering faculty and students from WSU Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture at our Highway 20 and Hamilton plants. The group toured both facilities and saw how projects progress from planning and design, through tooling, parts production and assembly. It's always great to open our doors to students exploring careers in engineering and manufacturing. Whistle Punk Park is now open on Janicki's Hamilton, Washington, campus, giving employees a new outdoor space to enjoy. The park features an amphitheater, a sports field and hundreds of newly planted native trees and wildflowers along Carey's Slough, with views of the Iron Mountain hills. Employees named the park and trails through a contest that drew more than 100 submissions. Future plans include an employee campsite and biking trails. Our testing demonstrated more than 25 percent reduction in lead time and more than 20 percent reduction in tool cost. Results also showed the material addresses longstanding manufacturing challenges associated with traditional BMI systems while maintaining high-temperature performance and durability.
