IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a rare, chronic inflammatory condition that can affect multiple organ systems and is often difficult to recognize due to its ability to mimic other diseases. Delayed diagnosis remains a significant challenge for many patients. This #IgG4RDAwarenessDay, GHLF is proud to collaborate with leading advocacy organizations—including AiArthritis (International Foundation for Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis), American Kidney Fund, IgG4-RD Out Loud, IgG4ward!, Mission: Cure, and Vasculitis Foundation—to help increase awareness, support earlier recognition, and improve patient outcomes. April is Sjögren’s Awareness Month. And like a lot of autoimmune diseases, it’s one people often hear about after months or years of “something’s not right.” Dry eyes. Dry mouth. Fatigue that doesn’t make sense. Joint pain that gets brushed off. Then one day, a name: Sjögren’s Disease. At #CreakyJoints, we see this moment all the time. Someone types “What is Sjögren’s?” into Google at 11:30pm, trying to connect the dots. That’s why we’ve built resources like this one to meet people exactly where they are: https://lnkd.in/gdYcYepX Plain language. Real symptoms. No fluff. And a thousand people a month, give or take, through front doors like Google. And we’re not doing this alone. Shoutout to the Sjögren’s Foundation in the U.S. and Sjogren's Australia and the broader community pushing awareness, research, and support forward every single day. This is what it looks like when organizations work together to actually move the needle for patients. Awareness is a starting point. Understanding is the unlock. Action is what changes lives. If you’re in healthcare, industry, or advocacy, this is your reminder: Patients don’t experience diseases in silos. New episode of Healthcare Matters: 340B: Are Patients Seeing the Savings? In this episode, Dr. Robert Popovian examines Minnesota’s latest 340B transparency report and what it reveals about the evolution of the program, the role of contract pharmacies, and whether patients are directly benefiting from the discounts the program was intended to support. The discussion highlights an important principle: if patients benefit, we are on the right track. If not, greater transparency and accountability are warranted. When it comes to bringing better treatment options to the autoimmune disease community, we’re pushing the boundaries of science to uncover what’s possible. In collaboration with the Global Healthy Living Foundation, our Chief Medical Officer Jeff Jones, explains the science behind CLN-978, our investigational T cell engager, and its promise for autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's disease, and systemic lupus erythematosus. A federal court just halted sweeping changes to U.S. vaccine policy - and the implications go far beyond vaccines. In our latest episode of The Health Advocates, Steven Newmark breaks down: • What the court actually decided • Why the ruling focused on process and scientific integrity • What this means for patients, providers, and public trust At its core, this case raises a critical question: who should shape public health policy - and how? This is one we'll be watching closely. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gyrcNqyA #HealthPolicy #Vaccines #PublicHealth #PatientAdvocacy #HealthcareLeadership

There’s something special about conversations that sit at the intersection of culture, people, and possibility. Today I had the privilege of spending time with The Japan Foundation in Sydney, an organization dedicated to sharing Japan with the world through culture, language, and education. You feel it the moment you walk in. Thoughtful. Intentional. Human. And it reinforced something we think a lot about: Global progress doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through connection. At the Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF), our work is grounded in building those connections for people living with chronic disease. Across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and increasingly Japan, we’re seeing a powerful shift: Patients are more engaged. Systems are evolving. And there’s a growing appetite to learn from one another across borders. That’s where we’re leaning in. Bringing together patient voices, ideas, and real-world experiences from different parts of the world. Creating pathways for understanding that go beyond geography. Helping translate innovation into something people can actually feel in their lives. Because health is universal. But how we experience it is deeply human. And when you create the space for those perspectives to come together, something meaningful happens. New ideas emerge…trust grows…progress accelerates. Grateful for the conversation, the hospitality, and the opportunity to continue building bridges between Australia and Japan. #GHLF #GlobalAdvocacy #PatientAdvocacy #NGO #TooManyTimeZones #Japan #Australia #SydneytoTokyo #JAL

The flu doesn’t just impact your health, it can take a serious financial toll, too. At a recent briefing for the Adult Vaccine Access Coalition (AVAC), new data from the Global Healthy Living Foundation revealed the flu cost the U.S. nearly $29 billion during the 2023–24 season, including medical expenses and lost productivity. The briefing also featured real stories from families impacted by severe flu complications. Family member Charlie Hinderliter volunteered to share his story, highlighting how quickly influenza can lead to long-term health issues, lost income, and overwhelming costs. It’s a powerful reminder of why prevention, including an annual flu shot, matters.
