See below the changes to job openings, hires, and layoffs in Feb 2026, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics report released earlier today. Some changes: unlike the 2025 report, the Jan. 2026 and Feb. 2026 reports list data by region, rather than by state. Hiring was down in February, compared to January, falling steadily over the month, which suggests the trend may continue through March. Stay tuned...

Although changes to the job market in 2026 remain net-positive, the change from January to Febrary tells us that uncertainty continues from 2025. That being said, there's still hope for March!
