Squirrel Girl is a ranged Duelist hero in Marvel Rivals with the right balance of annoying and deadly in the hands of the right player.

She isn't your typical ranged DPS-er like The Punisher, Hawkeye, or Hela. Instead, Squirrel Girl uses her acorn grenades to cause mayhem.

Sometimes, it's all about being a secondary damage dealer suppressing objective areas. Other times, you'll land your grenades with precision and kill enemy heroes out of nowhere.

Our Marvel Rivals guide for Squirrel Girl will run down her abilities, offer tips and tricks, and help you dominate the battlefield.

Squirrel Girl Offensive Strategies

Marvel Rivals Squirrel Girl Ultimate

Natural instincts say you'll want to spend most of your time on your backline tossing acorns into the sky and annoying the enemy team. While this strategy is effective, there are better ways to dish out damage as Squirrel Girl.

  • Use verticality to your advantage. You have a very impressive jump ability. While you're not going to soar through the skies like Iron Man or Storm, you will still be able to make it rain damage.
  • Learn the ins and outs of every map in the game. Once you do, you'll know the perfect camping spots when attacking or defending objective points. Positioning is the most important part of playing Squirrel Girl well. Knowing the maps like the back of your hand is key to success.
  • Practice aiming for close-range encounters. Your acorns do a surprising amount of damage close up. Don't be surprised when you can solo melee heroes trying to dive you.

Squirrel Girl Defensive Strategies

Marvel Rivals Squirrel Girl Jumping

This shouldn't be confused when you're playing defense as a team. Squirrel Girl is at her best when defending objective points, when playing aggressively and offensively. These tips will cover the best ways to survive oncoming attacks as Squirrel Girl.

  • Always. Be. Moving. Do not stop moving. That includes moving vertically instead of just horizontally.
  • You have, at minimum, one crowd-control ability. With Spider-Man, you have two. Use these to your advantage. They may not stun the enemy hero for long, but you can set up a CC into damage to retaliate against being attacked.
  • Resetting your cooldowns is very underrated. It's not the sexiest ability, but it will keep you alive more than you realize.

Spider-Man

Team-Up ability. Spider-Man gives Squirrel Girl a web bomb. She can slingshot it to unleash an explosion upon contact with the environment or an enemy, briefly ensnaring and damaging enemies caught in the blast. Deals 80 damage and imprisons enemy for 1 second. Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Squirrel Girls' Team-Up ability is dependent on having a Spider-Man on your team.

It gives you another stun in your toolkit, which is vital to locking down troublesome heroes. That Venom who will never die? Just CC him when he pops his shield, and he'll go down.

Squirrel Girl Counters & How to Deal with Them

Squirrel Girl Marvel Rivals

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the best counters to a grenade launcher are snipers: Hawkeye and Black Widow can pick you off with ease. Even The Punisher can shoot you down from afar, especially with his smoke bomb.

Jeff the Land Shark is surprisingly effective against Squirrel Girl as he swims underwater and tosses out his healing bubbles to negate your damage.

Star Lord is an annoying little bugger who flies throughout the map and dishes out serious damage. Sometimes, you're able to counter Duelists one-on-one, but Star Lord's speed and raw DPS give him an edge over someone like Spider-Man or Iron Fist.

Doctor Strange and Magneto are two Vanguards that, thanks to their shields, can mitigate your damage effectively.

Best Team Comps With Squirrel Girl

Marvel Rivals Squirrel Girl Engaging Enemy

Ideally, you will want Spider-Man on your team so he can unlock your Team-Up ability.

From there, a good team composition for Squirrel Girl centers around characters that can attract a crowd. Vanguards like Venom and even Hulk will draw the focus of enemy heroes, and you can capitalize on this.

Do you know who else can capitalize on this? Jeff the Land Shark, thanks to his devastating ultimate. He's also great at throwing out healing bubbles as you move across the map and the enemy team attempts to counter you.

Mantis and Luna Storm are excellent healers due to their crowd-control abilities. Having enemies locked down makes it far easier for you to deal devastating damage with your acorn grenades.
