Season 2: Hellfire Gala: Everything to Know About Season 2
Kraoka opens once a year to welcome the mutants, regardless of their differences, to try to have a brighter future. This is known as the Hellfire Gala, hosted by Emma Frost. But this time, Krakoa was impacted by the Temporal Storm, which took it to 2099. The travel through time seriously hurt Krakoa, slowly destroying its ecosystem, and, in the middle of the chaos, Ultron made its appearance, infecting the island with its clones. It's up to the mutants, heroes, and villains to stop Ultron and save Krakoa.

Hellfire Gala got released on April 11, 2025.
What did Season 2 bring to Marvel Rivals?
Hellfire Gala brings a new hero, Emma Frost, to the roster. It's confirmed that Ultron will also join. Aside from this, Marvel Rivals got a new map, Krakoa, and a new battlepass focused on the luxurious and shiny Hellfire Gala.
Season 2 also brings skin re-colors, which you can get after buying the original skins. Events are also present. So far, Marvel Rivals has had Play Matches; Earn Rewards, which gave the players a new skin for Scarlet Witch, Chaos Gown, and Cerebro Database, which gives units and the Flora Maiden skin for Mantis.
Players now have an option to gift skins and cosmetic features like Emotes, Sprays, or full bundles to friends through the store.
Lastly, Marvel Rivals often introduces new, temporary game modes, including rewards. So far, Giant-Size Brain Blast is the first temporal game mode introduced.
What did Season 2 change in Marvel Rivals?
Season 2 removed two Team-Up Abilities, Voltaic Union and Metallic Chaos, and introduced three new Team-Up Abilities: Stars Aligned, Mental Projection, and Arcane Order.
Some Team-Up abilities got changed as well. For example, Ammo Overload doesn't feature Winter Soldier, Gamma Charge doesn't feature Doctor Strange and introduces Namor, Dimensional Shortcut doesn't have Psylocke as a member, and Chilling Charisma doesn't feature Namor.
From a competitive point of view, the ranks will reset, and players will drop 9 divisions as Season 2 starts. Picks and Bans will start from Gold 3 now, and the minimum level to play the ranked mode will start at level 15.

Marvel Rivals was developed by NetEase, with collaboration and help from Marvel Games. NetEase are renowned developer that have already developed well-known games such as Naraka: Bladepoint and Once Human.
What is Marvel Rivals about?
Marvel Rivals is a PvP, six versus six, Hero Shooter. Your objective is to help your team defeat the opposite team, and each team has a target during a match; this target can be to defend a zone, attack a zone, move a convoy to a specific place, etc.
How many game modes does Marvel Rivals have?
Marvel Rivals currently has five game modes:
- Convoy: This game mode has two teams; one defends, and the other attacks. The attacking team has to escort a convoy from an initial point to a secondary place, while the defending team has to stop the attacking team from moving the convoy.
- Domination: This game mode has two teams, and the objective for both is to conquer a point inside a map. This game mode is a best-of-three mini-tournament where the map gets randomly selected.
- Convergence: This game mode has two teams; one defends, and the other attacks. The attacking team has to conquer a zone. If they manage to do it, a second checkpoint gets unlocked for the attacking team to conquer. If the attacking team conquers three checkpoints in time, they'll win. The defending team has to prevent the attacking team from conquering checkpoints.
- Conquest: This game mode has two teams. Whenever a team member gets knocked down, it'll drop points that the opposite team can collect. The first team that collects 50 points will win. Otherwise, this game has a clock, and if any team has reached 50 points during that time, the winner will be the one that collected the most points. In case of a draw, both teams will have a sudden death, and the first to collect a point will win.
- Doom Match: In this game mode, twelve players will join a map with the sole objective of knocking everyone else down. The first six players to reach 16 kills will win the game. If no player has reached that number, the top six players with the most kills will win.
Both ranked and quick matches can host one of the first three game modes mentioned.
