It seemed like many were interested, so here it is!

What is a "Secret Santa"?

"...a Western Christmas tradition in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they anonymously give a gift." (Wikipedia definition, so I didn't botch it ) However, in this particular event, you will be personally sending your gift to your assigned person, so you're only anonymous up until then.

The only media being used is photomanipulation. All skill levels are welcome. As always, all stock must be legitimate (nothing from Google images, etc.)

 To enter, please send a note (no comments on this journal will be accepted). Make sure to include themes, colors, genres, etc. that you enjoy. Please be as specific as possible. Your description will be what your Secret Santa will follow to create your gift.

There is a week to enter the event. As of November 13th, everyone will start being paired up. Shortly after that, you will receive the description you will be going by.

The deadline to finish your gift is December 21st. Send a note stating that it is complete. You will then be sent your partner's username. Submit the work to your gallery and include their name in the artist comments. It won't hurt to note them the link to the work, just in case they have mentions turned off.

You've heard of flash mobs, right? Large groups of people that meet in public places and perform in some way for a short amount of time, then disperse and act as if nothing happened, leaving everyone else surprised and confused? I figured I'd try to incorporate something like that into a short challenge.

You will be given a theme. The idea is to quickly piece together a manip based on that theme. Because the time limit to complete it will be short, technical skill will not be heavily judged. 

There will be more of these challenges, but they will not be on a set schedule. Like a flash mob, they're meant to surprise you and keep you on your toes.

Guidelines for Challenge 2
Theme: Emotion: choose one emotion to portray (anger, sadness, etc.)
Time limit: 3 days (due by 11:59pm EST October 17th)
You will be judged on creativity/originality & how well you fit the theme
The work must be brand new for this challenge
All stock must be legitimate
Upload your entry to your gallery and send the link/thumb via note

Because this is not a full-blown contest but instead somewhat frequent challenges, the prizes will be fairly small.
There will be two winners.
If anyone wishes to donate anything extra, it will be greatly appreciated.
