Types of Membership
Economic Differences & Hardship PolicyPeople who are experiencing real economic hardship or who live in countries where the economy makes it very difficult to pay the full membership, event or other ICMTA fees may apply for a discount up to 50% to the relevant circle. If this reduction is insufficient to make it possible to join or attend an event the individual can apply to the Finance circle for a further discount. Contact info@icmta.com for more information.
Payment of Membership Fees
Please pay the full fee online using a credit card when you apply for membership. This is the most efficient way of paying for us to manage and we encourage everyone to use this method. If this is impossible for you or if you want to apply for a discount of some kind, please email us for further information.
| Membership RequirementsTo be admitted into the ICMTA, eligible applicants need to:
Full and Associate members must meet requirements 1-6. Student members must meet requirements 1-5. Organizational members must meet requirements 1-4. To maintain membership in ICMTA, in addition to the above, full and associate members must ensure that they complete a minimum of 30 hours of CPD each year during their membership. Application Process
Potential members are invited to fill out an online application form which will be reviewed by the ICMTA Membership Circle. When you are completing your form, please spell key words in English - this will help people find you through the search facility later. You can include the local spelling too. Fields marked (Private) will NOT be published on your profile. All other fields will be public on your profile.
We hope this process will not take long, but please bear with us because the ICMTA is mostly run by volunteers. We aim to complete the application process within a few days of receiving your application.
Ethical issues or concerns
We ask in the application form for information about any ethical issues or concerns that you are aware of in the field about you as a teacher. Sharing this information will not prevent you becoming a member of the ICMTA. Being upfront about these experiences or concerns and what you have learned from them is part of ethical practice. It's also good for the ICMTA to have knowledge of any concerns or issues that are in the field so that we are best equipped to support you in the event that they are raised by a third party in the future.
