The Daily Utah Chronicle

The Daily Utah Chronicle is the University of Utah’s student-run independent newspaper that publishes on weekdays during the school year and three times per week during the summer. More than 200 students help produce the newspaper. Fifteen thousand copies are published daily, making it the 5th largest newspaper in the state. In 2007 the Society of Professional Journalists recognized The Daily Utah Chronicle as one of the three best daily college newspapers in the nation.

Newsbreak

Newsbreak is the University of Utah’s newscast, Webcast, and podcast produced by students for students. Newsbreak offers students in the Department of Communication hands-on producing, reporting, and anchoring experience in electronic journalism. Newsbreak airs: weekly on KUEN, Channel 9, several times weekly on both the campus UTV network and Channel 4’s digital channel, and on-demand at www.newsbreak.utah.edu.

University of Utah Press

  • Operates in cooperation with the U, publishing books on the outdoors, anthropology and archaeology, linguistics, literary nonfiction, Mesoamerica, Native American studies, and Utah, Mormon and Western history

The Book Arts Program

The Book Arts Program is part of the Marriott Library’s Rare Books Division. It offers classes and workshops in bookmaking to students and the community. It sponsors rare book presentations, lectures, and exhibitions. Its K-12 programming includes teacher workshops, demonstrations, and workshops for children and the Treasure Chest of Rare Books program that brings rare books and bookmaking into Utah’s classrooms. Its award-winning Red Butte Press preserves and carries forward the tradition of fine press publishing through public programming as well as the production of limited edition books.
