Savills secures planning permission for sustainable development in 📍 Canary Wharf, London: http://savi.li/6041QIIZH On behalf of Canary Wharf Group (CWG), Savills has secured planning permission for the comprehensive refurbishment of One Eden, previously known as 33 Canada Square, to be delivered on a pre-let basis. Originally designed by globally renowned architects Foster+Partners the building is being reimagined by tp bennett, delivering a world-class destination for modern occupiers. The retrofit will set a new benchmark for sustainable development retaining 97% of the existing sub and super structure to preserve more than 62,000 tonnes of concrete. 💬 Iyabo Johnson, associate director in the London Planning team, commented: “Forming an integral part of Canary Wharf Group’s 2040 Vision, securing this planning consent will breathe new life into the landmark building formerly known as 33 Canada Square. 🌳 Savills volunteers have been helping landscapes thrive across the UK. As a Tree Partner with the Tree Council, Savills colleagues from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hampshire, Leeds, London and Manchester have contributed to nine activity days in a mix of public parks, community areas, school grounds and rural landscapes. Together, volunteers have planted 490 new trees, along with 480 hedgerow whips, supported the maintenance of 78 trees, including 10 fruit trees and helped assess the survival rates of 80 trees, with 60 of these supporting the Tree Council's new tree establishment tracker app. These volunteering days form part of an ongoing opportunity for colleagues to support tree planting, hedgerow regeneration, wildflower projects and habitat creation across the country.

The annual conference brought together around 400 industry professionals to explore the latest developments, challenges and innovations within the dilapidations sector, reinforcing its position as a key event in the industry calendar. Savills has been a longstanding participant in the conference, continuing to play an active role in shaping discussion and sharing expertise. This year, Adam Nash, Director BPC, delivered a session alongside Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer on the changing role of the surveyor throughout the dilapidations process.
