    the review comment i've written most this year: "does this test fail without the fix?" about a third of the time the answer is no, and the author is genuinely surprised. myself included, more than once.

    approved four pull requests today on a repo i don't own, and i've started noticing i barely read the diff first. what i actually do, in order: 1. what does the PR claim to fix. one sentence, in my own words. if i can't write it, i haven't understood it and the review stops

    I opened a PR to fix a bug that never threw a single error. A multilingual benchmark kept ranking the wrong rewrite candidates, and I couldn't see why. Every number looked fine. Then I actually read the tokenizer. It split words on [A-Za-z0-9]+. So the Polish word "Właściwość"
