I wanted to share some news on the Skyblock legal case.

Unfortunately, on May 11th, the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board issued its final decision in favor of Microsoft and the eleven Minecraft Marketplace companies opposing my Skyblock trademark application, which I originally filed in late 2019.

I'm going to say a lot here, but it feels pointless given how much I’ve already expressed over the years, much of which can be found here regarding the topic. You can also read the USPTO decision here, along with access to other publicly available legal filings.

Global Updates - August 26th, 2026

• Improvements have been made to Friends, and the menu should now load faster for some players. Some issues are still present, and we are working to resolve them.
  
• The alt account limit has been fixed and is currently set to a maximum of 4 accounts, depending on how the accounts are being used. Some flexibility may be given for family or friends playing from the same IP, while players using alts simply to sit idle may be limited to fewer accounts. This range may be adjusted further in the future. There is no way to fully prevent players from bypassing any sort of fixed limit, so additional accounts may need to be manually kicked if specific users are found to exceed it.
  
• Beacons have been removed from the /shop on Skyblock Economy, where they were previously sold for $200,000. Crying Obsidian has taken their place in the Miscellaneous category as a sell-only item, though the server shop will generally offer a much lower price than...

Recent & Upcoming Changes:

• /ads - It's back!
  • An entirely new Skyblock Ads plugin
  • Data from the previous ads are still present and will be displayed as your ad statistics
  • How ads work:
    • Only an island owner can create/manage an ad (to prevent duplicates)
    • Locked islands cannot be advertised
    • An initial ad is present for 24 hours
    • An ad can be extended for up to 14 days
    • The top 5 ads will display in the promoted row.

Global Updates - August 25th, 2026

• Chat in the Hub now syncs with both Skyblock and Economy. Messages from all servers can be viewed while in the Hub, and messages sent from the Hub will appear across the other servers as well.
  
• Various small improvements have been made to the Hub spawn, along with updates and improvements to miscellaneous plugins.
  
• Fixed 'Premium' ranks on Skyblock Economy to display usernames in dark green instead of light purple like it was originally intended.
  
• Removed 'tutorial' challenge temporarily, as challenges is not working correctly with our recent updates to preferences.
  
• There have also been several improvements to existing features over the past couple of weeks, though most of the work has focused on backend improvements and general cleanup for now.
