People are moving from typing simple searches to asking for recommendations in a much more natural way. Not just “burger near me” but things like “where should we go for a relaxed dinner outside?” or “what’s a good place for a group dinner nearby?” That matters because Google already owns one of the strongest local data advantages in the world. Massive place data, huge review volume, real world engagement signals, and years of user behavior connected to intent. That is very hard to compete with. For multi location brands, this is a big shift. 𝗜𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱. And those are not the same thing. The brands that win will not just be the ones with strong visibility. They will be the ones with the clearest and most consistent local presence across every location. Accurate data. Strong reviews. Glad to be a part of the journey!Daniel Melkersson har delat dettaMarch's Overture Maps Foundation release is 615 GB. This is 98 GB more than last month's release and the largest month-to-month jump I can remember seeing. Buildings alone are 48 GB of that increase. Very few hexagons saw a net decrease in buildings but the global south in general saw widespread increases. Other dataset increases: Addresses jumped from 19 to 23 GB. Places: 7 to 9 GB. Transport: 80 to 98 GB. Infrastructure: 11 to 14 GB. Land: 25 to 31 GB. Land cover: 97 to 104 GB. Land use: 16 to 19 GB. Water: 24 to 28 GB. The Canadian building count net increase was more modest this month at 16,127 bringing the total to 13,714,468. Canada's buildings usually live in 6-8 Parquet files but I had to scan over 150 in this release to count all of them. There might be something up with spatial sorting. Foursquare's POI count saw a net increase of 76K and PinMeTo's saw an extra ~42K. Meta saw a net decrease of 120K. Most POIs in open oceans that I've come across were from Meta so seeing this number go down might mean an improvement in accuracy. Microsoft saw a net decrease of 168K.

Most startup events are a waste of time. Unscreened startups. Unqualified investors. No real due diligence. Just founders pitching stories… and investors placing random bets. That’s not how real value is created. Go for the social if you will, but don't fool yourself. I wish there were higher ambitions in Denmark - like the initiative below.

The Nordic collecting societies Koda, Teosto, and Tono are shutting down their joint licensing venture, Polaris Hub, at the end of 2025. Formed in 2019 to negotiate deals with platforms like Spotify, YouTube, and TikTok, the hub is being phased out as the CMOs say today’s music market demands greater scale and international reach. 📰 Svenska Spel and ATG post Q3 growth despite retail slowdown Sweden’s Svenska Spel and ATG both reported higher revenue and profit in Q3, offsetting weaker results from land-based operations through strong online and betting performance. 📊 Svenska Spel’s net gaming revenue rose 7% to SEK1.87bn, driven by its Eurojackpot and Oddset brands. Online channels accounted for 65% of revenue, while the closure of Casino Cosmopol sites and a 10% drop in Vegas machine revenue weighed on land-based results. 🎯 CEO Anna Johnson said the results show “continued progress” toward strategic goals, as net profit rose 18.5% to SEK584m for the quarter. 🏇 ATG also returned to growth, with net gaming revenue up 1% to SEK1.3bn and operating profit up 9% to SEK434m, thanks to gains in sports and horse betting and reduced costs. ⬇️ Full story linked below in the comments.
