Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toI’ve been judging search awards for over 10 years now -UK, US, EU, APAC, and Global Search Awards- and have scored more than 400 entries along the way. I’m joining the judging panel for the Search ’n Stuff Awards 2026. Thanks for inviting me Yagmur Simsek. The honest reason I keep doing this: award entries are the closest thing our industry has to real case studies with the numbers left in. You see what someone actually tried, what constraint they were working against, what broke halfway through, and what the result was. This is a work that takes usually a year before any of it turns into a conference talk. Most years I finish scoring having learned something I didn’t walk in with. The other reason is simpler. A lot of what I know came from people who took the time to look at other people’s work properly and say what was good about it. Judging is one of the few ways to pay that back at any kind of scale. Looking forward to reading what comes in.Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) to🏆 The first Search ’n Stuff Awards 2026 jury members have been announced! We’re delighted to introduce the first group of international experts joining our judging panel from across SEO, AI Search, PPC, Performance Marketing, Content, Digital PR and Analytics. We want to celebrate the projects that deliver real results, combine creative thinking with strong execution and genuinely move our industry forward. 📌 Entry deadline: 30 August 2026 Entry is free for brands, freelancers and Search ’n Stuff Antalya Conference attendees. Agencies and SaaS platforms are also welcome to submit their work across the available categories. The winners will be announced at the first Search ’n Stuff Awards Gala on 3 October. 🥂 The final results will be based on a 50/50 evaluation, combining public voting from conference attendees (50%) and jury votes (50%). If you’ve worked on a project you’re proud of, don’t leave it sitting quietly in a folder. It’s time to give it the spotlight it deserves. :) Explore the categories and submit your entry: https://lnkd.in/eJ4PiEVq Omi Sido, Elias Dabbas, Aybüke Yerlikaya, Ayisha Yousef, Lisa Raehsler, Navah Hopkins, Naim Cetinturk PhD, Mert Erkal, Gerry White Areej AbuAli, Vanda Pókecz, ilke Karabogali, Tuğçe Durmuşoğlu Murat Yatağan, Alfonso Moure, Clara Soteras Acosta, Harun RAHMET, Gianluca Fiorelli, Mert Oguz, Taner Güner #SearchNStuffAwards #DigitalMarketingAwards #SEO #AISearch #PPC #PerformanceMarketing #DigitalPR #SearchAwards

Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toAhead of SERP Conf. Rome, Sebastian Prohaska sat me down for this interview. He asked good questions and didn't let me get away with the easy answers. He asked me which GEO shortcuts look clever now but get you burned later. I told him I wasn't going to give him the list. That refusal is the most useful thing in the interview. A list of shortcuts is a playbook. It works right up until enough people run it. At which point the pattern itself becomes the signal that gets it caught. Anything I published today would be a liability with a shelf life printed on it. What travels instead is the test. If the value comes from the mechanism rather than the reader, it's a hack. If you wouldn't put it on your own site under your own name, don't do it for a client. Anything cheap enough to run at scale leaves a footprint. Trust & Safety teams aren't playing cat and mouse with individual tricks. They're looking for footprints. I spent 5 years on that side of it at Google. It hasn't changed in 15 years and it isn't going to. Worth 20 minutes if you're trying to work out what's actually durable in AI search: https://lnkd.in/d7pAi_2Y

Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toLast week I spent hours pre-scoring entries for the Global Search Awards 2026. Yesterday our panel of five judges met to evaluate more than 50 entries across 3 categories. I have been judging search awards for 11 years. You would think it gets routine. It does not. This year one pattern stood out. The strongest entries used generative AI as a driver of innovation, not as a decoration. The thinking was clear. The results were measurable, i.e. transparent ROI. Several times I caught myself re-reading an entry just to understand how the team got there. Here is what struck me most. The best entries came from experienced agencies and individuals working with clients they had served for years. Long relationships produced the boldest work. Trust seems to be a precondition for innovation, not a byproduct of it. The winners stay confidential until the ceremony in Dublin. What I can share for now is this: the bar in our industry keeps rising, and I left the session humbled. Judging is unpaid and it takes many hours of evaluation. I keep doing it because I learn more from reading 50 great entries than from most conferences. If you ever get the chance to judge, take it.

Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toYesterday I went to The Founder's Story Google Kraków, hosted at Google's brand-new office in Tertium Business Park. I walked in wearing most of my hats at once: expat, ex-Googler, angel investor, LP, consultant, entrepreneur, and startup advisor. I enjoyed it more than I expected to, and I do not say that lightly. The office itself is worth a word. Modern, open, and properly designed for the way people actually work and meet. It says something that Google chose to open it to the Kraków founder community in its first week rather than keep it behind a badge reader. The format helped. No filtered panels. Founders sharing the parts they usually leave out, including what failed. I left with two or three things I will actually use, which is a high bar for any event. The best part was the people. Real conversations, not badge-scanning small talk. John Shewell from Merlin on building an influence map for partnerships. The kind of exchanges that turn into something later. Credit to the people who made it happen. Antonello Schiavo from Google and Karolina Paluch from OMGKRK put real thought into the room and the guest list, and it showed. Kraków needs more of this. International operators choosing to build here, sharing openly, with a host willing to convene them. That is how an ecosystem compounds. More of these, please.

Murat Yatağan opublikował(a) toHelp me settle something. Half my feed says great ghostwriters are extinct, killed off by AI. The other half is clearly using one. So, genuine question for the people reading this: Who’s the best B2B writer you know of who actually understands SEO or growth? Not a generalist who can fake it. Someone who knows the space. One name in the comments is all I need. I’ll pull the answers together and post the shortlist.

Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toYesterday I ran three mentorship sessions with founders in the Google for Startups accelerator MENA+T 2026 cohort. 3 companies, 3 stages, 1 job: find the constraint that actually limits the next phase of growth before reaching for any tactic. Coral: AI native ESG and carbon accounting company. It's in a market pulled forward by regulation/mandate. Our conversation with Daniele Sileri and Angelo Laub was concentrating GTM on the buyer, geography, and regulation where demand is sharpest, and showing up exactly where those buyers search. HakeemX Technologies: Clinical decision support across healthcare and medical education. Bilal Adi and I talked about sharpening the growth model so it's clear which lever drives the next phase. Looking forward to catching up on their reading of their digital and AI Search presence about the way their buyers actually do. Repzo Inc.: Field force automation. They're profitable and post PMF. My conversation with Hassan Atmeh and Ayman Atmeh was turning their growth model into a repeatable engine for new markets. Pairing a strong inbound base with a deliberate outbound motion! Strong founders don't need more answers. They need the right question named quickly. They are ready to execute. Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toI'm an Oncrawl ambassador, so I see most of these AI search panels before they go out. I'm picky about the ones I flag. This is one I'd clear the calendar for. On June 18th, Oncrawl has Janaina Barreto-Romero, Rejoice Ojiaku, Sara Taher, Andreas Voniatis, and Patryk Wawok talking through what's actually in their data: - Revenue, when traffic and clicks slow down - Technical debt, with AI bots multiplying - Brand presence, now that LLMs decide who gets cited Honest conversation, live Q&A, no slideware. 3pm CET. Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toA founder told me organic traffic doesn't convert. So we turned it into her main acquisition channel. Huckleberry. We rebuilt the sleep and development content from scratch to into the resource parents trusted (300+ expert articles). Organic went from 25K to 1M monthly visitors. The number that mattered wasn't traffic. It was 20K+ app installs a month from organic, the kind that used to cost ad budget. Revenue from organic up 128%. Ad spend down. "Traffic that doesn't convert" is almost never a traffic problem. The content ranks and still never earns the click that becomes a customer. In AI answers it's sharper. You can rank first and still not be the one LLM recommends. If your organic converts worse than it should, that's the problem I take. Murat Yatağan udostępnił(a) toMost AI-first startups don't lose on the model. They lose on GTM: Wrong ICP, wrong channel, pricing that signals the wrong thing, a sales motion that doesn't match how the buyer actually buys. The product works. The go-to-market doesn't. That's where I'll be focused as a mentor for the Google for Startups Accelerator MENA+T Class of 2026. 15 teams across legal, healthcare, voice, robotics, and more. Ready to get to work.

We własnej firmie. Dorota ogarnia HR, finanse, administrację, prawo i partnerów. Nasza "mistress of puppets". Z kolei Michał to combo: growth, nowinki, technikalia.

Check out my cool (read: simple but does the job) website here -- https://www.eceozkan.com/ * I am back to writing. Here is my brand new newsletter -- https://lnkd.in/dgY7CGAp September starts tomorrow, and to me, and I know I’m not the only one like this, September is the “back to school” month. Not because I have kids going back to school, but because I am still that kid 🙃 Raised in a household of school teachers, becoming a nerd 🤓 was probably my natural instinct. And I’m glad I did! In the spirit of “back to school” season, here are a couple of things I’ve been working on: First things first, I recently went independent and am building my own Trust & Safety consultancy. After 15 years working across operations, policy, incident management and product, I’m now thinking about how I can bring that experience to companies building and managing technology today 👩💻 The second announcement is that I’m starting to write again! My first piece is about why I’m writing The Operational Gap, a newsletter where I’ll explore Trust & Safety, AI governance, tech policy and the gap between principles and operational reality. I’ll be publishing it here on LinkedIn, and the first post is already out 🥳 https://lnkd.in/dfNEnqSg If you’re interested in working with me, or just want to nerd out about any of these topics, send me a message 😊 Happy September 🍂

Murat Yatağan polecił(a) toMurat Yatağan polecił(a) toBirlikte İnşa Ettik, Birlikte Başardık; Şimdi Yeni Bir Yolculuk…

Murat Yatağan polecił(a) toBir girişimde en tehlikeli cümle şu olabilir: "Sanırım işe yarıyor." Growth check-up, büyüme eğitimleri ve mentorluk süreçlerinin ardından şimdi her girişimle birebir Growth Stratejisi görüşmelerimizi gerçekleştiriyoruz. Murat Yatağan polecił(a) toMurat Yatağan polecił(a) toThank you, Tim, as you step down as Apple’s CEO today. 11 years ago, I received an Apple scholarship for developing a neural network. As a young engineer born in Germany to parents from North and East Africa, standing in the Bay Area and receiving personal encouragement from Tim felt completely surreal. For me, it was an eye opening moment. It showed me that what matters in engineering is curiosity, dedication and the craft you put into BUILDING. Tim, thank you for 15 incredible years of leading Apple and for always taking the time to inspire the next generation of builders. Steve and you definitely shaped an entire generation. I deeply believe these principles matter more than ever today and so many of us are carrying them forward into the future of TECH. Wishing you all the best.

Murat Yatağan polecił(a) toMurat Yatağan polecił(a) toLast day of August. Summer is ending, and I'm basically coming down from the mountains, switching trail shoes for conference badges. I hope this summer was truly magical for you! It certainly was for me.✨ Competing seriously in four mountain ultra marathons and some smaller races. I came away with a mix of competitive results, spectacular failures, and quite a few lessons that are useful even outside the world of extreme endurance sports: 🏔️ 𝗙𝗷ä𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝗞: 47th/188 in 14:47 (31st July) Spent 55K out of 100K battling a stomach meltdown that started around 30K and refused to leave until 85K. Not ideal from a performance perspective. Excellent for character development! 🏔️ 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝟵𝟬𝗞: (Swedish National Championship, 15th Aug) 123rd/1200+ in 9:26 Apparently I had not learned enough from Fjällmaraton, so I repeated the stomach disaster from 50K all the way to the finish line. But, you need more than one data point to analyse what went wrong! 🏔️ 𝗜𝗱𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗷ä𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝟰𝟱𝗞: 19th/611 in 4:44 (22nd Aug) Finally, a race where almost everything clicked, unintentionally boosted by an elite female runner. Let's just say I found it easier than usual to stay focused on the task of trying to keep up. The only issue was a small bonk at 40K, caused by a slightly unhealthy fear of nutrition after the previous two experiences. Lesson: keep simple things simple and never underestimate proper incentives! 🏔️ 𝗛ö𝗴𝗮 𝗞𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝟰𝟱𝗞: 6th/358 in 5:13 (29th Aug) A proper and bloody crash on a technical descent lost me the podium place, but otherwise one of those rare days where everything works exactly as intended. Lesson: trust the force and let go! Mountain trail running and business have much in common: ✅ Things rarely go according to plan. ✅ Risk management matters more than optimism. ✅ A bad hour doesn't have to become a bad day. ✅ The winners are not always the most talented. They are usually the ones who keep moving when things get tough. And just like that, mountain ultra marathon season becomes conference season. Next stop: SBC Summit Lisbon at the end of September! I'll be easier to catch there than on a mountain trail. See you there to explore how we at Internet Vikings can add value to your iGaming and Sports Betting operations! 🏔️🚀 #iGaming #SportsBetting

Random Sunday Thoughts #181: 1. . As we negotiate and strategically discuss domains with brands, companies, founders, and investors, I realize more and more the clear distinction between exact match product and brand domains and category defining domain name assets. In some powerful use cases, the two combine to create a category dominating business such as Booking*com, Cars*com, Salesforce*com, and Hotels*com. For the companies that pull that off, the category killer domain is unparalleled in its value. However, there are many examples of leading brands that acquire a category defining domain and leverage it without making it the consumer facing brand. There is no better examples than Amazon (Streaming*com directs to Prime Video, Podcast*com to Audible), OpenAi (in a deal I oversaw where Chat*com points to ChatGPT), and Bank of America (Loans*com). By owning these invaluable assets, the companies lock up the industry for a future potential standalone strategy, are protected defensively, convey category leadership , and are ensured security of brand and email. 2. For exact match domains, not securing your brand’s .com can have devastating long term impacts. The smartest founders and CE0’s realize and prioritize doing so. Paul Graham, co-founder of Y Combinator, once wrote in his essay Change Your Name: “If you have a US startup called X and you don’t have X*com, you should probably change your name. The problem with not having the .com of your name is that it signals weakness… a marginal domain suggests you’re a marginal company.” His words ring true time and time again. On the flip side, we have examples of companies that had to fight their way back to the .com. Tesla spent millions to acquire Tesla*com after years on TeslaMotors*com, Dropbox migrated from GetDropbox.com, and Facebook, fortuitously securing Facebook*com. Each of these cases reinforces the same truth: the .com is the crown jewel of digital identity. Owning it early is cheaper, safer, and strategically smarter than waiting and realizing too late that it is a massive strategic misstep. In my career, I’ve been fortunate to help close transactions on hundreds of exact match and category defining domains; Rocket*com, Gold*com, Universal*com, Home*com, Tiger*com, Fans*com to name a few. Each deal had its own unique timeline, negotiation, and “marination” process, but the constant is this: the best companies understand that their brand’s ultimate home is on the exact match .com. 3. I am now into the start of my 3rd year as an empty nester. As parents who did everything with our kids, all in, all the way through, I have really enjoyed this phase too. However, this weekend has been special as I golfed with my son and his friends and today, head to the Patriots game, for the first time since 2023, after going to every single home game for many years. The best! I am missing my daughter a ton, but she is thriving studying abroad this semester. Until next Week #domainnames
