- Howard Wu delte detteIs "I vibe coded a whole X over the weekend" the new flex? 💪- Howard Wu delte detteNew LinkedIn genre that keeps popping up on my feed: “I vibecoded a Notion replacement over the weekend.” 🙄 Out of curiosity, are these AI tools disabled during working hours? 🤔 If AI can help you spin up a prototype in 3 hours on a Sunday, it should be helping you during the week to: - Test that product idea you’ve been debating for months. 💡 - Automate the manual task your team hates. ⚙️ - Build an MVP before your next standup. 🚀 Staying on top of these tools is super important as the field is moving fast, but the goal shouldn't be to turn weekends and evenings into an ongoing hackathon. If you build for the pure joy of it on your own time? Great. But let's not glorify the "always-on" hustle culture. That's a fast track to burnout. Let’s use this tech to improve our workday, so we have the headspace to actually sign off when it’s over. 🧘♂️🧡

- Howard Wu la ut dette på nytt- Howard Wu la ut dette på nyttSecurity and privacy don't always make for the most exciting product announcements but they're often the thing customers care about most once they're actually building. Something I wanted to highlight today is that on Whereby our whole session transcription and live captions processing pipelines reside fully within the EU. For a lot of the teams we work with, especially those in healthcare, legal, education, or any sector handling sensitive conversations, this kind of transparency matters. We're security-conscious by design, and EU-based processing for transcription is one of the concrete ways that shows up in practice. So if you're evaluating Whereby for your product and data handling is an important part of that conversation, feel free to get in touch. We're always happy to be upfront about how we operate.

- Howard Wu la ut dette på nytt- Howard Wu la ut dette på nyttOpenAI recently announced the launch of ChatGPT Health, positioning it as a tool designed to support and not replace medical care. It’s also not intended for diagnosis or prescription, but to help people better understand health information and prepare for conversations with healthcare professionals. This announcement invites a broader reflection on how patients feel about using AI along with their health data, how clinicians view AI as part of the pre-consultation process, and what collaboration between AI tools and healthcare professionals could look like in the future. How are you thinking about this shift, and where do you see AI adding the most value in healthcare without replacing physicians at its core?

- Howard Wu delte detteand...... WE ARE BACK! 🤜🤛 2025 was a record year for us at Whereby — real growth, real profitability, and a lot of hard work paying off. Wherebyrds truly are amazing. We partnered with innovative customers existing and new, launched impactful features, gained new commercial momentum and hit new financial milestones. We delivered real results in how telehealth and other remote interactions can have the best possible user experience, using WebRTC, genAI and every kind of innovations at our disposal. But if I have to pick one thing that I am most glad we did last year was take the time to clearly articulate our company values. Not just as words on a poster, but as a shared compass for how we work, how we make decisions, and how we show up for customers and each other. https://lnkd.in/dMu3RT84 Those values made a difference in 2025, and will keep doing so for years to come. They helped us stay focused while scaling, make better trade-offs, and keep trust at the center of what we build. They showed up in the results. 2026 is about using what we learned in 2025 and continue building from here. Staying disciplined. Staying curious. And continuing to grow in a way that feels sustainable and true to who we are. Huge thanks to the Whereby team and to the customers who trust us every day. Let’s go.Our New Company Values: A Shared Compass for the FutureOur New Company Values: A Shared Compass for the Future

- Howard Wu la ut dette på nytt- Howard Wu la ut dette på nyttI’ve seen a few posts lately about how "productive" the holidays have been — folks building open-source projects, writing books, orchestrating AI agents... It’s impressive, and obviously, everyone can spend their time how they like. But I’ll be honest: my holiday looked nothing like that 🙂 I spent my break in book stores and museums, reading on the couch, hanging out and cooking with family, and just chilling. Tech moves fast, but we don't always have to. I’m starting this week feeling refreshed and actually excited to dive back in, rather than starting the year already needing a nap. So, if you didn’t build a startup using Lovable or Opus over the break, don't sweat it 😅 There’s plenty of time to explore everything new in the weeks and months ahead! Here’s to a slow, steady, yet grounded and focused start to the new year.

- Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte detteI’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Zoom as Chief Product Officer! I’m excited to kick off my first week at “Zoom Speed,” spending time with customers during Zoom’s Customer Advisory Board sessions and Perspectives analyst meetings. I love building products that customers love. Zoom has an incredible foundation of innovation and a deep commitment to empowering how people work together. In all my conversations with the team from Mu Han to Velchamy Sankarlingam and Eric S. Yuan and many more, I was blown away with their passion for doing just that. Eager to both partner with our teams and customers to shape the next generation of Zoom experiences continuing to make meaningful connections possible, anywhere and everywhere. Here’s to an exciting journey ahead!

- Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte detteAfter a disappointing 2025 rocked by tariffs and a fraudulent buyer who lied about his financial wherewithal, we have bounced back strongly in 2026 with 5 sell-side, 1 buy-side, and 9 divestitures completed in 3 months. Here is our latest closed deal, which was sold for a massive premium in a competitive auction to a multi-billion dollar public strategic. I could not be prouder of our team here at Two Roads Advisors. - Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte detteI’ve been struck by how easy it’s become to close product knowledge gaps. A few weeks ago, we were in a Whereby meeting asking a lot of good questions about our transcription feature. Straight after, I started unpacking these questions and, with AI’s help, had a survey within 10 minutes that felt clear, focused, and useful. A few days later, it was sent out. Once the responses came in, things moved just as quickly. We looked across the answers, pulled out the strongest themes, checked which insights were supported, and ultimately completed our research goal. In a REALLY short space of time, that lightweight research answered the questions we’d asked a few days earlier. It’s easier than ever to move from open questions to informed conversations and that feels pretty significant.

- Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte detteOne of my biggest pet peeves as an investor: writing off companies too soon. Building a unicorn takes YEARS. Sure, there are a handful of companies that hit $100M/yr in revenue quickly, but the vast majority of large companies took a long time to get there. The beginning is the hardest part. You don't know what you're building. Finding product-market fit - creating something people love AND will pay for - is an incredibly difficult process that takes time (and a lot of luck). Once you crack that code and have market pull, scaling becomes much easier. You know exactly what to build and what to do. But figuring out what works initially? That's where most founders struggle. I was thinking about an acquaintance today whose business everyone had written off. Although the team was super sharp, his first idea back in 2011 was honestly terrible. But he learned, he pivoted, and today he runs a unicorn company. It took him years to go through that pivot and land on the winning concept. Building something great takes time. Having the patience to stand by founders during the tough times - especially when they're determined to keep going - is one of the most important things we can do as investors. The best founders aren't always the ones who get it right immediately. They're the ones who persist, learn, and adapt until they find what works.

- Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte detteMy final day in London (for now) before I head off on another adventure. Just over a year ago, I made a decision that felt both exciting and slightly unhinged at the time... to pack most of my life into storage and reduce everything else to two suitcases. Still, I decided to come back to London for a couple of months and I’m really glad I did. A lot has happened in a short time: 💛 Flew to the health.tech | global summit. in Basel. One of those rare events where the conversations actually continue after you leave. Some exciting partnership ideas already in motion. 💛 Joined the Healthtech Pigeon alongside Carlo Alberto Gaetaniello @ Serenis for a conversation around AI in virtual care and where things are heading. 💛 Through Carlo, got introduced to Gio Grand and had the chance to meet him this week. If you’re in the space, check out what Gio and the team at Qura are building - it's amazing! 💛 Had the chance to work closely with so many digital health teams choosing Whereby. Understanding their challenges, their ambition, and what they’re building has honestly been one of the most rewarding parts of my role. 💛 ...and finally, in-person time with the commercial team Andreas Bovens, Hannah Brown (née Jelliman), Winner Ajibola, Dave Lathrope, Sade Riley filled with a mix of deep focus, good conversations, and a lot of laughs. I heard something recently that stayed with me that you don’t really miss cities, you miss the version of yourself you believe is possible there (and I think a big part of that is the people you meet along the way!). I think that’s what I’ll miss most about London. :) Until next time!

- Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte detteAs telehealth continues to expand, clear standards around safety, privacy, and reliability are becoming increasingly important. According to the new telehealth standards for virtual care providers by Patients Australia, the protection of personal health information must remain paramount. This means for those building virtual care solutions, robust cybersecurity measures, strong encryption, access controls, and privacy compliance are important to safeguard patient data while ensuring systems remain reliable, interoperable, and continuously monitored. It’s encouraging to see frameworks emerging that reinforce these expectations across the healthcare ecosystem globally and help build long-term trust in virtual care. - Howard Wu likte dette- Howard Wu likte dette13.5 years. A lifetime in tech. After an incredible journey with Google, I said goodbye in January to embark on a well-earned break and new adventures. Google was more than a workplace for me; it was, by far, the longest company I worked for. My entire tenure was spent with Google Cloud (in Singapore) and I feel proud of my contributions and accomplishments that have made it the rocket ship it is today. Each of my roles offered unique challenges, often starting with a sense of self-doubt. I'm proud of the journey that took me from: - APAC Google Maps Sales Engineer - SEA Cloud Customer Engineer - SEA Senior Manager, Cloud Customer Engineering - APAC Data Analytics Go-To-Market Lead I had the privilege of working with some of the most talented, inspiring and (thankfully) funny people to overcome those challenges. As I close this chapter, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences and relationships that have made these years so special. While it is bittersweet to leave, I’m excited to take a strategic break to recharge and explore the next chapter of my career - maybe we’ll work together again! Thank you to all of you who made my journey so memorable. Here’s to new beginnings and the adventures that lie ahead.
