Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldLast week we published a new CrowdSpace report which provides an overview of crowdfunding in 2025. Our previous report was for 2023 and it was co-authored by Rotem Shneor, Karsten Wenzlaff, Ana Odorović. This was a great fundamental paper which got quite a few citations in the academic world. It came out at the right time to compare pre-ECSPR state of industry in Europe with how ECSPR shaped it. I've been asked quite a few times why we haven't done a new one next year. There were a couple of reasons. First, the 2023 one took us a lot of time which we, as a collective of authors, simply couldn't dedicate going forward. Second, a fair amount of the data collection for ECSPR platforms is supposed to happen by ESMA, so why would we duplicate that same process with our private and limited efforts? This year we decided to publish a new report summarising 2025 and it's not much focused on data, but instead on what the platforms actually think and feel about the industry and their challenges. If you like data and charts, they are not there 🙂 But there are plenty of good data-driven reports for 2025, which you can explore. Instead, we offer direct quotes from the platforms and share the trends we noticed. I am really keen to hear some feedback on this version of the report, so please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any comments. Also, on April 8th (what a way to spend my birthday!) we're meeting in Malaga for a Platform Leadership Program (alongside the International Conference on Alternative Finance Research 2026). There together with Andy Field (MCIM) and Karsten Wenzlaff we will run a series of workshops and hope to have a dialogue between the platforms and researchers. More info here: https://lnkd.in/eXXquCUn The report can be downloaded here: https://lnkd.in/eEG4TFQ7

Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldExcited about our upcoming webinar hosted by Andy Field (MCIM) of GECA and Andrew Dix of Crowdfund Insider this Wednesday (4th of March). We've gathered a really knowledgable crowd from the EU, UK and US to talk about cross-border opportunities and challenges stopping crowdfunding from going global: Karsten Wenzlaff, Robin Sosnow, Sherwood (Woodie) Neiss, Neera Patel, Bruce Davis and Benoit COLLAS. And me 😊 Sounds like you've heard the topic before? That's probably right, but this is the whole point: we keep talking and raising awareness until we break the barriers. We expect more than 200 people joining the webinar, sign up and don't miss it live: https://lnkd.in/dEw_S_Zs

Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldCrowdfunding is built on collaboration — yet many of our most important discussions still happen in isolation. That’s why GECA will be co-hosting a set of in-person working sessions in Málaga this April, alongside #ICAFR26 (International Conference on Alternative Finance Research), together with European Digital Finance Association (EDFA). As a member of the GECA steering committee, I’ll be involved in shaping and participating in these sessions. The initiative is also supported by LenderKit and CrowdSpace, where we work closely with platforms, data, and broader ecosystem development. The focus is intentionally hands-on, with peer-led workshops for crowdfunding platforms on: – investor UX & engagement – secondary markets and tokenisation – platform data, research and scholar collaboration With dedicated time for peer-to-peer exchange throughout. We’re currently gauging interest (registration is non-binding) to shape the format properly. 👉 Details & interest registration: https://lnkd.in/e46EnFEr 📌 Please indicate your interest by 3 February and we'll follow-up with further details.

I really look forward to this 45-minute conversation exploring how crowdfunding helps fund climate solutions globally. At our panel with Bill Huston (moderator), Jonny Price, Will Wiseman, Levi Brackman and Jackie Logan we will have a chance to look at the topic from various perspectives and compare our views. Don't miss it this Friday, January 23rd at 10:12 AM (PST) / 7:12 PM (CET) Register and watch: https://lnkd.in/efnB72t8

Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldNot exactly a professional achievement, but probably something worth sharing on LinkedIn anyway 🙂 After successfully passing all 4 state exams for Dutch I now have an official diploma for NT2 (Nederlands als tweede taal) Programma I. Though I am not exactly sure what to do with it yet, I want to leave it here as something I feel proud of. The truth is - there is no real pressure in the Netherlands (and especially in Amsterdam) for speaking Dutch in your everyday life. I know quite a few people (expats) who live here for 10+ years, speak no Dutch at all and feel quite comfortable. Even though I haven't moved here with a long-term plan, I felt a need to understand the culture and people better and you can't do that without the language. There is still a long way to go to become really proficient and fluent in Dutch, but this is the first step.

Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldMeaningful connections sometimes happen instantly and randomly. I sincerely hope yesterday was one of those moments at #RebuildUkraine in Warsaw. While Crowd Ukraine Invest AG is bringing capital from the EU to build affordable living in Ukraine, Kharkiv IT Cluster is relentlessly working from the inside to lay the foundation to successful and sustainable future Ukraine. It sounds like they are from two completely different worlds, but when these two forces meet - we'll see a great splash of positive energy. I hope that yesterday we started this process with a tiny push towards each other 😉 Good luck to everyone in this journey! Alexander Tebbe Olga Shapoval Olga Titar

Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldFor those of my friends who asked me in the past couple of years “How is it in Ukraine now? Is the war still going on? We don’t hear much on the news”. Well, here is an answer below… The irony is that the office of Kharkiv IT Cluster wasn’t even hit directly, it was a kindergarten which was hit and destroyed! Just on the opposite side of the street. It’s a real miracle that all the children are safe and not hurt.Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldToday, October 22, Russia once again attacked Kharkiv. During the shelling, the building of the European Digital Innovation Hub (Eastern Ukraine EDIH) — the place where the Kharkiv IT Cluster team works — was damaged. Fortunately, all our colleagues managed to reach the shelter in time. No one was injured. And that’s what matters most. We proudly opened this Hub together with our partners just three months ago — on July 25, 2025. In that short time, it had already become a place of strength: a space where projects were born and brought to life — shaping the future of the region’s tech ecosystem. Today, Russia destroyed walls, but did not break us. We are not putting any project on pause. We keep working — for recovery, for the city, for Ukraine. Since 2020, IT4Life, the charitable foundation operating within Kharkiv IT Cluster, has been coordinating humanitarian support for civilians, helping evacuate people from combat zones, and strengthening Kharkiv region’s safety infrastructure. Konstantin Boyko heeft dit gedeeldYesterday I had a rare experience of giving a guest lecture at the University of Amsterdam. Unlike online events and webinars, it felt much more fun, and I really enjoyed being there. Despite building digital products myself, I've recently grown truly appreciative of live communication and interaction. I hope the students have also learnt a thing or two about #crowdfunding, which will help them in their journey (whether in academia or in entrepreneurship). Thank you very much, Angelo Tomaselli, for the invitation!

Konstantin Boyko vond dit interessantKonstantin Boyko vond dit interessantOne thought stayed with me after visiting Café Kyiv 2026 in Berlin last month. It has grown into a major event and an important platform for conversations around Ukraine. But although the focus is Ukraine, it increasingly feels like a space where Europe comes together to reflect on itself. Many conversations begin with Ukraine’s experience - war, resilience, reconstruction - and gradually shift toward broader questions about democratic institutions, security, governance, and how societies respond under pressure. Ukraine is living through extraordinary circumstances. Yet what struck me is how often its experience is discussed as a source of very important and painful lessons. Lessons about resilience. About mobilizing institutions quickly. About rebuilding systems while they are still under stress. In that sense, Café Kyiv feels less like a conference about a single country, and more like a space where Europeans together with many international partners quietly ask themselves difficult questions: What should we learn? What should we change? What should we be preparing for? For me as a Ukrainian living in Berlin, this shift feels particularly striking. Ukraine’s experience is deeply painful, but it has also become a mirror for Europe, prompting reflection on how prepared European societies and institutions truly are to defend their values and sustain independence. Properties of lush spaces and applications to Banach spaces with numerical index 1
Studia Mathematica 190(2):117 – 133
The concept of lushness was introduced recently as a Banach space property, which ensures that the space has numerical index 1. We prove that for Asplund spaces lushness is actually equivalent to numerical index 1. We prove that every separable Banach space containing an isomorphic copy of c 0 can be renormed equivalently to be lush, and thus to have numerical index 1. We prove that for Asplund spaces lushness is actually equivalent to numerical index 1. We prove that every separable Banach space containing an isomorphic copy of c 0 can be renormed equivalently to be lush, and thus to have numerical index 1. The rest of the paper is devoted to the study of lushness just as a property of Banach spaces. We prove that lushness is separably determined, is stable under ultraproducts, and we characterize those spaces of the form X = (R n , ·) with absolute norm such that X-sum preserves lushness of summands, showing that this property is equivalent to lushness of X.

Numerical index and duality
Math. Proc. Cambridge Philos. Soc. 142, no.1, 93-102 (2007)
We present an example of a Banach space whose numerical index is strictly greater than the numerical index of its dual, giving a negative answer to a question which has been latent since the beginning of the seventies. We also show a particular case in which the numerical index of the space and the one of its dual coincide.

AI Agents. The hype is everywhere - but most people still don’t know where to start. Two weeks ago, Revaz Ghambarashvili spoke at the Laravel Meetup in Groningen and built an AI agent live in ~20 minutes using LarAgent - our open-source Laravel package. The core message was simple: AI agents aren’t magic. They’re just instructions + tools + an LLM. Once you see it that way, building agents stops feeling mystical and starts feeling like… well, software design - something Laravel teams are already great at. 5 Key Takeaways: 1. Start with fundamentals, not frameworks. Understand how prompts, instructions, context, structured output and tool calls work together. 2. You only need 3 parts: LLM API, instructions, and tools. Everything else is orchestration. 3. Laravel devs already think in agent architecture. Traits, models, modular design - it maps perfectly. 4. That’s why we built LarAgent. Define agents like Eloquent models. Tools as traits. Instructions in Blade. php artisan make:agent - and you’re already most of the way there. 5. Don’t rely on prompts alone. LLMs hallucinate without context. Use Retrieval Agents, Guard Agents, and keep clean human-handoff paths. Laravel already gives you all the batteries. LarAgent provides the agent building blocks. Together - the most productive stack for AI agents, full stop. Laravel-native. Open-source. Evolving fast. Curious? Try it: 👉 https://docs.laragent.ai/

Last month I rebuilt our entire company website in 7 hours. No agencies. No developers. No code. Just me, Loveable, Supabase, and £16 in credits. The result? A fully functional website with content management, user authentication, and database integration. Not perfect, but remarkably good for less than a day's work. This experience reinforced my perspective on what's possible for UK SMEs. According to the SME Digital Adoption Taskforce (July 2025), 43% of UK SMEs have no plans to use AI. We rank 25th globally for digital readiness. 43%?! Yet here I am, someone who's never written a line of code, building front and back end systems in hours. Sure, vibe coding is not suitable in every situation. Security is, I think, improving, as is the ability to handle increasingly complex applications. Building MVPs and POCs, and then handing over to engineering teams to build production ready systems enabled by Claude code or similar is likely a better model for businesses, but that is beside the point. Your competitors are already using AI to automate workflows, personalise marketing at scale and transform customer service, and the gap between businesses embracing AI and those hesitating is growing daily. But here's the opportunity: you can still catch and overtake the competition stuck sitting on their hands if you start to experiment with conviction. Pick one repetitive task in your business this week. Try automating it. Record the success (and learning). Share it with your team. Create a vision for the art of the possible and encourage curious and interested members of your team to test, learn and iterate. At Fair Aim Capital, we're not just talking about AI transformation. We're doing it ourselves, learning what works, and bringing that experience to every business we partner with. Will you lead this change in your sector, or get left behind? The tools exist. They're affordable. The only thing stopping you is starting. https://lnkd.in/eaQXx-Je #UKBusiness #DigitalTransformation #AI #SME

A redesign isn't about making things prettier. It's about making the store work better. Too often, though, it turns into a portfolio piece instead of a revenue-driving upgrade. Especially with bigger builds – like on Magento – we keep seeing the same mistakes: ❌ focusing on colors, fonts and banners, without analyzing actual user behavior ❌ making decisions without data – no heatmaps, no A/B tests, no real feedback ❌ tweaking the checkout without checking how it impacts conversions – every click there matters ❌ cleaning up the interface at the cost of navigation people were already used to ❌ switching to a new layout overnight – no heads-up, no test version, no way to go back ❌ treating UX as visual decoration instead of a tool to solve user problems What to do instead? ✅ start with data – heatmaps, session recordings, cart abandonment, click tracking ✅ separate what’s purely visual from what influences behavior ✅ roll out in stages – test on a limited group, observe, adjust, then scale ✅ run simple user interviews – even 5 conversations with actual customers can shift your perspective ✅ bring UX, devs, sales and customer support together – every team sees a different part of the picture Guesswork in redesign usually costs more than sticking with the old version. It’s not a slide deck for management – it’s a business decision that affects revenue. Treat it like one. #ecommerceredesign #uxdesignforecommerce #cro #magentoagency

Revenue is the result. Process is the variable⚙️ You can’t optimize based on the outcome alone; you need metrics describing the process itself. The Problem: Measuring only eCPM (The Finish Line)🏁 The Solution: Measuring auction mechanics - bid responses and latency⏱️ To stop revenue leakage, you must monitor timeouts for both Prebid Client and Prebid Server. If you aren't tracking bid drop-offs, you're just guessing. Find your "revenue sweetspot" 🎯 Read more: https://lnkd.in/diVzgA7T #AdOps #Programmatic #HeaderBidding #Setupad

📅 Building Booking Systems for Projects with Drupal Recently, we’ve been building booking systems for client projects using the Webform Booking module — and so far, it’s been a really solid solution. It integrates easily with Webform, and setting up booking slots has been straightforward and flexible. Some features we really like: Flexible Time Slot Setup: You can define available slots however you need — per day, per hour, or even specific times. Custom Schedules: It’s easy to align booking availability with a client’s business hours or service periods. Calendar Integration: With the integrated calendar view, users can easily see and select available slots. On top of that, we paired it with Webform Content Creator module, so every booking submission automatically creates an entity (node). This helps clients manage bookings just like any other Drupal content — and you can even map form fields directly to node fields for a smooth workflow. Why we like this approach: 🎯 It’s straightforward to set up without needing custom coding for a basic setup. 🎯It’s flexible enough for different types of client needs. 🎯It’s fully Drupal-native, making it easy to extend later if needed. 🎯You can leverage views to filter and query your bookings. If you’re looking for a light and effective booking tool for Drupal, definitely give these modules a look: Webform Booking: https://lnkd.in/dPwx7gXy Webform Content Creator: https://lnkd.in/dAX3ehNH 💸 Pro tip: With a custom Webform Submission Handler you can combine the booking submission with Drupal Commerce to get a complete checkout flow so your users are able to pay for the selected bookings. Want to build a booking system for yourself? Try it out. Need a hand? We are here to support you! #Drupal #Webform #Booking #ClientProjects #Opensource

𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬? Here’s what you really need to know about the 𝐃𝐁𝐀 𝐀𝐜𝐭. If you’re an international company working with Dutch freelancers, chances are you’ve heard of the “Wet DBA” (DBA Act). And chances are… it left you confused. Or worse, cautious to the point of avoidance. As a (freelance) recruitment advisor, advising companies on compliance and proces, here’s what I can tell you: 👉 It’s not as complex as many think. 👉 And yes, you can safely work with Dutch freelancers. 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐁𝐀 𝐀𝐜𝐭: To prevent false self-employment. In other words: if someone works like an employee, they shouldn’t be disguised as a freelancer. But if a professional is truly independent, you’re in the clear. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞? The freelancer decides how the work is done, no employer-style supervision. The role is clearly defined and temporary, not an ongoing internal function. The freelancer operates alongside your team, not as an embedded part of it. 3 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬: 1. Use an approved model agreement as your foundation, and tailor it to the assignment. 2. Focus on deliverables, not on hours or presence. 3. Make sure your internal team understands the boundaries of the collaboration. 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞? With the right setup and mindset, working with Dutch freelancers is not just possible, it’s a smart move in today’s market. Are you working with freelancers in the Netherlands or planning to? 👇 Drop your questions or experiences below, happy to share insights. #freelancers #Netherlands #DBA #independentcontractors #internationalhiring #recruitment #compliance #futureofwork

When off the shelf solutions simply will not suffice. The web application development market reached £89.3 billion globally in 2026. Yet most agencies are still building basic websites whilst the real innovation is happening in custom application development. At Web Choice we engineer solutions for complex technical challenges that standard platforms cannot solve. Three recent builds showcase what is possible: 1Min Web (https://1minweb.com/) generates fully functional websites in under 60 seconds using AI integrated questionnaires. Speed meets genuine customisation. Built by our talented team. The Informed Patient (https://lnkd.in/efHuEDMk) have instructed us to build a new system which combines AI with medical reporting to help patients understand complex diagnoses. Personalised healthcare intelligence that meets strict compliance standards. Sowena Group Portal (https://lnkd.in/eXZGgwFX) have instructed us to build a complex portal that integrates questionnaires and generates sophisticated reports with dynamic charts. Business intelligence that drives real decisions. The distinction matters. Progressive web applications are growing at 13.45% annually because they deliver native performance without platform limitations. Healthcare portals specifically post 14.05% growth as AI diagnostics demand secure, compliant systems. We build custom solutions using modern frameworks, implement proper API integrations, ensure genuine scalability and maintain security protocols that meet regulatory requirements. The application development market is projected to exceed £2.22 trillion by 2035. This growth is driven by businesses understanding that competitive advantage comes from custom systems, not generic platforms. Are you forcing your unique requirements into generic software, or building systems designed for how your organisation actually operates? Have an idea that needs launching? #build #successfulsoftware

Right now, publishers are asking: “How do we monetize AI access without giving away the store?” And AI platforms are asking: “How do we scale partnerships without cutting dozens of bespoke deals?” At IBC 2025 (Amsterdam), I’ll be sharing how 0hop bridges those two worlds: 👉 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 → 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 → 𝗨𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 → 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 → 𝗗𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: AI usage becomes traceable, payable, and rights-aware — with some early pilots showing new revenue within ~90 days. 25 KB. That’s the size of our entire site (without images). We didn’t just want a fast website — we wanted to prove a point. The next wave of products won’t be heavy. They’ll be lean systems with real impact: less code, less friction, less waste. In WeSafeLocal we apply the same principle to commerce — turning chat chaos into a safe, AI-powered trust layer for communities. Light code, strong impact.
