When you start up the game and click on "DLC INFO", does it show the voiced name DLC as "Installed"? If so, then when you start up character creation, you should see a big "VOICED NAME" button below your MC doll. When you click on it, at first it will only show "Jamie", but if you click on the letter groupings, like "ABCDEF", more names should appear. If you need more help, just let us know. Thanks for playing!

Actually, if you have access to the files, they are still cross compatible with the Mac version! The file you're looking for should be called "derek_dlc.rpa" and is found in the "game" folder inside of the Our Life directory on Steam. You can find this by right clicking on the game in your Steam library and going to "Browse local files". You can get the .rpa file and put it directly into the "game" folder of the Mac version downloaded for free on itch.io, and it should work. If you have any other issues setting it up, just let us know. Thanks for playing!

The main download file is compatible with Mac and PC, but it doesn't support iOS devices. Unfortunately none of our DLCs were able to be made compatible with that platform. Hope that helps, and thanks for being here!

We're so sorry to hear about your computer! While it might not be possible to recover your original save files, unless you can somehow access your old computer's hard drive, all of the DLCs you purchased will still be here on itch.io in your library, and can be downloaded again as many times as you want. Hopefully you can enjoy making new memories with another visit to Sunset Bird, and thank you so much for playing!

The next update will be when Steps 1 and 2 are released this November. We hope you're looking forward to it, and thanks for following!

You can find our comprehensive roadmap here on itch.io, but Steps 1 and 2 are going to be released in November of this year. Then the full release with Step 4 and the Epilogue will be late 2027. Thanks for following!

Console ports are definitely something we've thought about, but haven't quite been able to make happen. Maybe someday, though nothing concrete as of yet. Thanks for following!

Yes, this will still work for the base game even if you don't have any DLC. We hope you have fun playing, and thanks for being here!

Yeah sorry! Are you on Windows or Linux or Mac? And let us know if the reinstall works or not.

What operating system are you using? And have you already tried a fresh reinstall?

Sorry about that! What DLC did you install when this happened? And does all of the sound echo, or does it only occur at certain times? Hopefully we can figure out a fix.

You can see our roadmap here on itch.io, but you can also find more frequent updates posted on our other social media accounts. Thanks so much for following!

An IOS version of the game is something we have often considered, but it isn't as straightforward, and thus we haven't been able to make it happen yet. It's still possible someday. Thanks so much for following, and you can look forward to the early access release later this year!

(1 edit)

OK, thank you for that. We'll pass that along to our lead programmer and see if we can't figure something out.

Edit: OK they got back to me very quickly with a couple of suggestions. Firstly, they wanted to know what kind of device and Android version you're using. They also suggested trying to free up some storage space to see if that helps.

Just to confirm, yes it is on Steam. Thanks for playing!

Sorry to hear that! One thing you might try first is turning off animations. This can be found in the game's "Config" menu at the title screen. If that doesn't help, then do you receive any error messages when this happens? Is it at a specific point?

Hello! We're so grateful for all our players. Unfortunately, we are unable to do any kind of translations/localizations for the game, as it is too long and complicated. But we hope everyone can enjoy the game as much as possible. Have a wonderful day.

Hello! Which tutorials do you mean, exactly? Some can be viewed by simply starting a new game, and some by skipping through the Prologue. Hopefully that helps, or if you need more info, let us know. Thanks for playing!

Just to give official confirmation, yes, the early access release is this year (2026), but the full release with all of the Steps will be 2027, and then the wedding DLC later still in 2028. Thanks for following!

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll pass it to the team for consideration. Thank you so much for playing, and have a great day!

Yes, Now & Forever will be quite a bit longer than Beginnings & Always. In fact, even the early access release will be about as many words as the entirety of Beginnings & Always, DLC included. Thanks so much for following, and hope you're looking forward to it!

Hello, we'd like to provide some context here. We aren't able to gift a key to the game on one platform if it was purchased on another platform. This is a standard practice across the industry and would complicate our relationship with Steam if we acted against it. Players can download the game on PC and mobile from itch.io if they'd like to play on both platforms. Thanks for your understanding!

Hello! So what might be happening is that some dates are locked until the guy is officially your boyfriend. There are also some dates for the free guys that are locked if you don't own the DLC. Hopefully that helps, and thanks for playing!

Hello! While we are grateful for your offer, we are unable to accept any translation work, especially ones for free.  Translations are one of those things we are unable to do, given the size and complexity of the game. But we deeply appreciate your kind words, and hope you can enjoy the game as much as you can. Thank you for following!

Hurray! Hope you enjoy.

Perfect. Once you're in Steam, right click on Our Life, and go to "Manage", and then "Browse local files". That will open up the game's directory. In there you'll see a folder called "game". Click in there, and look for the .rpa files (they'll be called dlc_step_1.rpa", for example). Take all of those RPA files out, and put them in the "game" folder of the Mac version. That is a bit trickier to find, as it's very deep, so here is the file path:

OurLife.app > Contents > Resources > autorun > game

Hope that helps, and thank you for playing!

Hello! Is there any way you can access your Steam account some other way? Because if you can, you can actually extract the individual DLC files from the Steam version and transfer them to the Mac version, as they are cross compatible. They're found in the "game" folder of the game's main directory; I can give you detailed instructions on how to find them if you need help.

Hello! Sorry you here you're having issues. Hopefully I can help. Are you able to see the game's title screen at all, or is it on the initial loading screen where it fails?

Hello! We're so glad you enjoy the game. While we love your ideas for additional kinds of representation for the the MC, unfortunately things like that are beyond the scope of what we can do. There are so many possibilities not just for how the MC could be, but also when they happen (Step 1 versus Step 2 versus Step 3, etc.), and each would require multiple different kinds of variations. It's simply too large for us to be able to include even a portion, so we're just trying the best we can. We encourage players to head canon beyond what we can show ourselves, of course! Thank you so much for playing.

No problem! Here's a link for you: https://www.patreon.com/cw/gbpatch?vanity=gbpatch

Thanks again for your interest!

While the exact release date isn't set quite yet, it will be in November of this year (2026). Thanks so much for following!

Sorry you're having trouble. What exactly is happening? Are you unable to see the DLC in itch.io account under "My library"? Or does it not work when you try to download it from there?

Yes, I can help! If you still have access to the Steam version, you want to navigate to the game's directory and find a folder labeled "game". This can be reached by right clicking on the game in your Steam library, going to "Manage", and then "Browse local files". That will take you to the main folder. Inside of the "game" folder, you should see the DLCs as .rpa files, like "dlc.step_1.rpa". Take all of those files from the Steam version, and put them in the "game" folder of the itch.io version, and it should work. If you need any more help, just let me know, and thank you for playing!

It's no trouble at all. We're happy you're here.

That's very kind! The simplest thing to do would be to buy the paid DLC for our other games, like Our Life: Beginnings & Always. Or you could become a member on our Patreon. But regardless of that, we're just so glad to have supporters like you sharing their enthusiasm for our games. Thank you for being here!

We're so glad you like her so much! We do too. Unfortunately, that DLC won't be able to happen give the scope of the game, but thank you for being there for Ren <3

Of course! We don't control refunds directly on itch.io. Instead, contact itch.io using their support page, and they will forward that request to us, which will approve. Thank so much for playing!
