It will quietly redefine what “good” looks like inside them. When execution becomes cheaper, judgment becomes the constraint. You won’t be measured by hours. You’ll be measured by the quality of your decisions. That’s the shift. Some people are already operating this way. As an investor and board member across dozens of tech companies, Lotan sees AI not as a feature - but as a structural shift. AI won’t replace in-house counsel. It will reset the benchmark. When tasks that used to take hours now take minutes, activity and knowledge are no longer the metric. Decision #quality is. But what does “quality” actually mean? Not perfect drafting. Not more memos. Quality means: Better strategic decisions. Smarter risk management. Being embedded early, not reviewing at the end. System-level thinking. Owning accountability. And advantage comes from control. Control of data- playbooks, contracts, emails, internal knowledge. Control of context. Control of decision points. Control of trust. What remains an open question, especially for Legal, is how we truly measure #value and #quality in this new reality. Not by hours. Not by volume. But by impact. We may not have the right metrics yet. It may take years to define them properly, but we will. (And yes, for models still built around billable hours, the adjustment may be even sharper.) GPT 5.2 סייע בגזירת נוסחה חדשה בפיזיקה של שדות קוונטיים. משהו שנחשב עד כה לאפס בכל המקרים. הראשונה נוגעת ב engineering. השנייה נוגעת ב scientific breakthroughs. האחת מזיזה את השוק בטווח הקצר. השנייה משנה את גבולות האפשר. קל לנו להגיב לראשונה. קשה לפנות קשב לשנייה. ואנחנו בוחרים לבנות על האיזון ביניהן. כי חלק מהשכבות שמרגישות היום אסטרטגיות, יהפכו מהר יותר ממה שאנחנו חושבים לקומודיטי. אנחנו לא מחפשים רק impact מיידי, ולא עומק מחקרי תיאורטי. אנחנו מחפשים את האיזון ביניהם. חברות שמייצרות ערך מדיד עכשיו, תוך כדי בניית שכבת עומק אמיתית. Data שנצבר. Control point שמתהווה. AI הוא לא עוד תחום. הוא שכבת הפעלה חדשה. ואת זה קשה לאמץ באמת כשאתה עמוק בתוך ה-24/7. אנחנו רגילים ללמידה תוך כדי תנועה. אבל שינוי שכבת הפעלה דורש זמן ממוקד להתנסות. אולי דווקא יזם שלוקח תקופה משמעותית בין חברות ומשקיע אותה בטירונות אמיתית על איך בונים AI native חוזר עם יתרון מסוג אחר. לא רק קשרים. לא רק ידע תעשייתי. אלא AI Superpower אישי. כי ברגע שאתה שוב בתוך המרוץ, כמעט ואין פנאי לבנות עומק אמיתי. אולי הפאוזה היא לא עיכוב. אולי היא יתרון. סקרן איך יזמים שחזרו לזירה לאחרונה חושבים על התקופה שבין החברות.

Lotan Levkowitz פרסם/פרסמה את זהארבע שיחות שונות השבוע החזירו לי את אותה תובנה. לוקח זמן ללמוד איך לחסוך זמן. האנשים שאמורים לעצב את העתיד שבויים מדי בתחזוקת ההווה. שיחה ראשונה. יזם בפורטפוליו. החברה צומחת, האופרציה לוחצת. הוא לא מוצא זמן לשבת עם Claude Code ולבנות בעצמו. הוא אומר לי שזה כבר לא עניין של סקרנות. הוא חושש שבלי לעבוד עם הכלים בידיים, הוא יפספס לאן השוק זז. ושזה יפגע ביכולת שלו לנווט אסטרטגית. שיחה שנייה. עם מגייסת בכירה בסיליקון ואלי. גם בגיוסי C level בחברות היוקרתיות ביותר יש פתיחות למנהלים בעשור השלישי לחייהם. לא בגלל גיל. בגלל קצב. מי שפועל AI native כברירת מחדל עומד טוב יותר בקצב השינוי. שיחה שלישית. חבר שמכר סטארטאפ והקים מלון. הוא מתוסכל שהוא מרגיש מחוץ למהפכה. ברור לו שהחברה הבאה שלו תהיה AI native מהיסוד. העסק הנוכחי דווקא מאפשר לו לשבת כמה שעות ביום ולבנות עם הכלים החדשים. הפתעתי אותו. אמרתי לו שדווקא הוא בעמדת פתיחה מצוינת לבנות סטארטאפ AI משמעותי. כי יש לו גם ניסיון עמוק וגם זמן אמיתי להתנסות. רוב האנשים מחזיקים רק באחד מהם. שיחה רביעית. עם הצוות שלי. הבהרתי שמעכשיו אני חוסם ביומן יותר שעות קבועות לבנייה בידיים. לא קריאה. לא פגישות. בנייה. AI לא משנה רק פרודוקטיביות. הוא משנה תהליכים, תפקידים ואחריות. את זה אי אפשר להבין מרחוק. האתגר האמיתי הוא לא ידע. הוא הקצאת תשומת לב. אם משהו קריטי לעתיד, הוא צריך להפוך לסעיף קבוע ביומן. איך אתם מגנים על זמן עתיד בתוך עומס הווה?

Lotan Levkowitz שיתף את זהבימים האחרונים משקיעים בורחים ממניות ה-SaaS בשוק הציבורי. איום ה-AI הפך למוחשי, במיוחד אחרי שמשתמשים התחילו לשתף חוויות אמיתיות עם ה-coworker של Anthropic. מה שנראה עד לא מזמן עתידני, מרגיש פתאום כמו איום ישיר על חלק גדול ממודלי ה-SaaS הקיימים. התגובה של השוק מעניינת פחות מהשאלה מה בדיוק נשבר. לאורך השנים, חברות SaaS הצליחו לבנות הובלת שוק ופרמיה משמעותית כשהן החזיקו לפחות באחד משלושה יתרונות מרכזיים: 1) חברות שניצחו דרך adoption וצמיחה. מוצרים שקל להכניס לארגון, עם friction נמוך ואלמנטים שמגדילים שימוש ו-expansion. מודל ה-land & expand הוכיח את עצמו כמאוד סקיילבילי, והשוק תיגמל אותו בפרמיה. 2) חברות שבנו מוצרים שקשה ויקר להחליף. מרגע שנכנסו לארגון, אחוזי הנטישה היו נמוכים מאוד. עם הזמן הן הוסיפו יכולות, והלקוחות השבויים שילמו עוד ועוד. כאן הפרמיה נבעה מהתלות שהארגון פיתח. 3) חברות שיצרו הצעת ערך ייחודית ומבודלת. יתרון ברור על התחרות ומותג איכותי שאיפשרו גביית מחירים גבוהים ושולי רווח מרשימים. שלושת המודלים האלה מייצגים מקורות שונים ליתרון תחרותי. ואז נכנס AI ומערער את ההנחות שעליהן הם נבנו. אז איפה הפאניקה מוצדקת? הפאניקה מוצדקת בעיקר במקרים שבהם היתרון התחרותי נשען על מומנטום ולא על כוח מבני. בשלושה מקומות מרכזיים: 1) חברות שהיתרון שלהן נשען בעיקר על מוצר אפליקטיבי רזה ו-UX. שכבות כאלה הופכות עם הזמן לקלות יותר להעתקה ולקלות יותר להחלפה. 2) חברות שניצחו בעיקר דרך קצב צמיחה. כשכל החברות יכולות לצמוח מהר יותר בעזרת AI, יתרון שמבוסס על מהירות בלבד הופך לפגיע במיוחד. 3) חברות שהעלו מחירים בלי להעמיק ערך. המודל שמביא AI, תמחור על בסיס ערך ותוצאות ולא על בסיס מנוי והתקנות, מאיים ישירות על פרייסינג שנשען על אינרציה. בטווח הארוך, המודל הזה נשחק. אז איפה הפאניקה אולי מוגזמת? גם כאן, בשלושה מקומות מרכזיים: 1) חברות שהפכו ל-system of record. מקומות שבהם מאוחסן הידע הארגוני, נבנים ה-workflows ונשמר ה-tribal knowledge. ככל שהן מוטמעות עמוק יותר, כך הערך שלהן לארגון גדל. 2) חברות עם network effects שתלויים בקישוריות ובבסיס הלקוחות שלהן. 3) חברות שהצליחו לייצר דאטה ייחודי ולקשור אותו לערך משמעותי ללקוח לא רק דאטה בהיקף גדול, אלא דאטה שנוצר מתוך פעילות ייחודית, לאורך זמן, ובתנאים שקשה או בלתי אפשרי לשחזר. חלקן אפילו בעמדת זינוק לנצל את יכולות ה-AI על בסיס הדאטה שכבר נמצא אצלן. כדי להבין מי באמת פגיע ומי פחות, לא מספיק לשאול אם מוצר קל להחלפה. צריך לשאול מאיפה נובע היתרון התחרותי שלו. כאן בדיוק נכנס מודל ה-7 Powers של Hamilton Helmer, שכתבתי עליו בשבוע שעבר. הוא מתמקד בעקרונות הבסיס שמסבירים אילו כוחות תחרותיים מייצרים יתרון תחרותי בר-קיימא. בניגוד לעשור הקודם, אי אפשר לצמוח מהר קודם ורק לפצח moat אחר כך. הפאניקה לא פוגעת בכל החברות אותו דבר, כי לא כל היתרונות התחרותיים נבנו מאותו מקור. זו כבר לא שיחה תאורטית. צריך להתחיל לחשוב על זה מאוד מוקדם. החברות הקיימות שיפצחו את זה יפרחו, והיזמים החדשים שיגיעו עם השילוב הנכון בין אסטרטגיה ו-execution יצליחו להחליף חלק מעולם ה-SaaS הקיים. ולנו כמשקיעים, זו הזדמנות של פעם בדור לבנות עם יזמים את החברות שיגדירו את העשורים הקרובים.
