Where Winds Meet includes extra challenges that you can try to beat for bonus rewards, but they tend to be rather difficult boss fights. However, some of these challenges are incredibly easy to stumble upon, to the point that you might end up accidentally entering the arena for a fight that you aren't ready to beat. The Wolf Maiden is among the challenges that you might find without meaning to, but you could just as easily pass the entrance without noticing it as it's rather unexpected.
While the game recommends being around Level 50 to fight the Wolf Maiden, you can find her much earlier than that. This is because the easiest method for entering her arena is found in Harvestfall Village, where you can go during the first chapter's main quests as you explore the region and level up through side quests and extra activities.
Finding the Wolf Maiden
The easiest way to get to the Wolf Maiden is by unlocking the entrance during the Feast before the Beasts side quest, but you have to complete it before the main quest For Whom Does He Return, as it becomes unavailable after the events of that quest. If you've already completed this quest, then you'll have to find the arena manually at Desperation Ridge, which is to the east of the Granary of Plenty in Kaifeng. Additionally, you can only face her at night, so you have to do the side quest or head to the ridge when it's nighttime if you plan on fighting her. If it's daytime, she won't appear.
Unlocking the Wolf Maiden through Feast before the Beasts is done by simply heading to Harvestfall Village, finding the table where a group of men is gathered. The table has a set of drinks on it, but none of the men are drinking. Head over and speak with them. You'll end up with a prompt that lets you take a drink, which you want to accept. Then, you'll also accept the second drink. Finally, you get the prompt to have a third drink, and you accept that as well. After the third drink, you will pass out.
When you wake up, you'll be in the Wolf Maiden's arena. From here, you can try facing her, use the option to practice her fight, or you can leave the arena. If you leave the arena, you can return at night by going to the same table in Harvestfall Village and drinking the cups that have been left behind. The group of men is gone at this point, but since you unlocked the arena with this method, you can continue using it. Otherwise, you might find it easier to travel directly to the arena in Kaifeng once you start unlocking teleportation locations, as you'll be doing quests in Kaifeng anyway.
Facing the Wolf Maiden
The Wolf Maiden is a rather annoying fight, especially because she has wolves helping her attack you, and she'll sit in a tree then dive at you. Like many bosses, parrying and dodging attacks are essential. The wolves will lunge at you and do howl attacks, so you need to parry the lunges and dodge the howls to take the least amount of damage. Then, the Wolf Maiden joins the fight from the tree by dropping on you with an attack that you can't parry. As a result, you need to keep an eye on her and be ready to dodge it when she decides to join the fight.
If you find yourself struggling, you can always leave the arena and return after leveling up and improving your gear. Otherwise, you'll find a lot of assist markers at the arena's entrance, so you can likely find another player who's willing to jump in and help you beat the Wolf Maiden in Where Winds Meet.
