Bug Meat is a loot item, mainly used for fishing.

How to acquire Bug Meat

Bug meat is dropped from any type of insect enemy. It can also be acquired from various other sources, as below;

  • A Dorado , Lingcod or Pike Fish Pond may produce 20x Bug Meat when the population hits 9.
  • Vincent Sells Bug Meat at the Desert Festival for 1x Calico Egg.

Other Uses for Bug Meat

Bug Meat can also be used to fulfill requests, and create other items/effects;

  • Bug Meat can be used with Cloth in the Sewing Machine to create the Pink Striped Shirt at Emily's House. It can also be used as a Purple Dye in the same location.
  • 10x Bug Meat can be required for several Fish pond quests.
  • Willy will request 100x Bug Meat in his Juicy Bugs Wanted! special order.
  • 20x Bug Meat may be requested by the Raccoon at the Giant Stump.

Special Order: Juicy Bugs Wanted!

Special orders become available when a special orders board is installed in front of the Mayor's Manor. This can happen any time beginning Fall 2, Year 1. This board typically has large requests that would not be found on the normal help wanted board outside the shop.

Willy will put a request on this board to collect 100x Bug Meat over the next 7 days. Note that these items must be collected when the quest is active, and they must be deposited in the bin next to the fish shop.

As a reward for this quest Willy will give you 3,000g and the recipe for the Quality Bobber.
