It has been over a month since Lost Ark players have received a content update. While Amazon merged the west servers into the east region last week, the major October update has been held back by a couple of weeks because of it. Thankfully, players won't have to wait much longer because tomorrow Amazon will be rolling out some new content for players to dig their teeth into while they wait for the huge upcoming two-part raid next month. This is a more calm month, something that will likely be echoed in the December update, but it's a calm before the storm.

Kazeros Prep

Lost Ark World Red Moon

The first thing players will need to know about this update is that it includes a prelude to the upcoming raid. Similar to similar past updates, this will be a short prologue that will set up the events for the upcoming raid next month.

In order to access the prologue, the player will need to meet specific requirements:

  • Item Level 1660
  • Where the Volcanic Ash Has Settled (Act 1 Quest)
  • Paving the Way to Victory (Act 2 Quest)
  • As One Again (Act 3 Quest)
  • Connected Duty (Rimeria World Quest)
  • The Divine Will Lives On (Hyper Awakening Quest)

If this is anything like previous prologues, this will be a quick quest that will likely take less than twenty minutes. It will lead into the Kazeros Act 4 raid along with Denouement, which is likely to be released on November 19. If you’re a big fan of Lost Ark’s story and lore, this small story segment is crucial to complete, as this will be the beginning of the end for the Kazeros story arc. On top of that, this will be required before stepping into the raids themselves.

Lucky Box Event

Lost Ark Lucky Box Guardian Raid

Tied into the annual Arktober event, we will be getting the Lucky Box event that has been anticipated for quite some time. This originally hit Korea quite some time ago, and features some great rewards, such as Relic Engraving Selector Chests, Legendary Card Packs, and Chaos Stones that have a guarantee to increase a piece of gear by at least 1 point. Those are the high-end rewards, with likely a very low drop rate, as the rest of the Lucky Box pool has honing materials such as Silver, Shards and Leaps, just to name a few.

This comes as players were concerned that Amazon would adopt the Chinese version of the Lucky Box event. In that region, it became a pay-to-win feature where you would invest money in essentially a slot machine in hopes of it churning out something good, and even featured a pity system after many hundreds of dollars are spent.

If you’re a big fan of Lost Ark’s story and lore, this small story segment is crucial to complete...

Thankfully, that isn’t the case here as we will be getting something that is more active, requiring the player to simply interact with the various daily and weekly content for the Lucky Boxes to drop. For example, players are able to do Guardian raids and there will be a chance for these boxes to appear at the end.

Like everything in Lost Ark, though, this is an RNG system, so while it rewards players with some goodies for simply playing, there’s only a chance of these boxes to drop, and most of the exciting items will likely be hard to come by.

Ark Pass

Along with the Lucky Box Event, we will also be getting a new Ark Pass. Titled Mist Knight Ark Pass, this is essentially a new battle pass that players will have three different models to interact with. There is the free model that will get you base materials as you participate in the various activities every week. Then there’s a 1,500 Royal Crystal stream that features significantly more materials that’s more than worth it for the price.

Finally, a 3,000 Royal Crystal Premium pass includes everything in the previous models, but also includes the unique skin (which can be purchased with Blue Crystals), the mount, the pet and whatever extra goodies are included, be it a wallpaper or legendary card packs. Whether players find this to be a good deal is up to how much they desire to push their characters. With the current in-game economy being heavily inflated, the Premium 1,500 Royal Crystal pack is generally very good value for the amount of materials and extras you get.

Balance Update

LostArk-WildsoulsHyper

Last but not least, we have the balance update. This is a highly anticipated update that players have been begging Amazon to get out as quickly as possible. Thankfully, the studio listed and included it within the October patch prior to the upcoming raid. This will give players time to fiddle around with any major changes that may have occurred with their class before hopping into the hardest raid Smilegate has ever conceived.

For the most part, most of the classes have only gotten minor adjustments, be it buffs or nerfs.

  • Buffs: Destroyer, Paladin (DPS), Slayer, Scrapper, Glaivier, Striker, Sharpshooter, Machinist, Arcana, Summoner, Sorceress, Deathblade, Shadowhunter, Reaper (Hunger), Souleater, Artist (DPS), Aeromancer (Windfury)
  • Nerfs: Berserker, Soulfist, Artillerist, Reaper (Lunar), Wildsoul
  • Neutral: Gunslinger

The standout improvements include Windfury, Shadowhunter and Sorceress, while the nerfs are pretty small, all things considered. Sadly, while players were hoping we’d be getting the latest balance patch that was just introduced into Korea a couple of weeks ago, that looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer before it hits the western shores.

Miscellaneous Updates

  • Proving Ground Season 7 kicks off
  • A Halloween Bat Hat and Candy Trail Effect have been added
  • Various Quality of Life Improvements

The October 2025 update of Lost Ark will go live on October 29 after a six-hour maintenance.
