Gorou | Genshin Impact

Gorou is a Four-Star Character in Genshin Impact.

The great general of Watatsumi Island's forces. He is deeply trusted by his subordinates.

How to acquire Gorou

As Gorou is a Four-Star Character, there is a small chance of unlocking them through the normal banner, but if the following Banners are active, there is a higher chance of unlocking the character:

• Oni's Royale
• From Ashes Reborn
• Of Silken Clouds Woven

Talents

Talents are the special abilities and attacks your character possesses. They can be combat orientated, or benefit other areas like expeditions, cooking and more.

• Ripping Fang Fletching
• Attack
  • Normal Attack - Performs up to 4 shots with a bow.
  • Charged Attack - Perform an Aimed Shot with increased damage. A fully charged crystalline arrow will deal Geo damage.
  • Plunging Attack - Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing area of effect damage upon impact.

• Inuzaka All-Round Defense
• Elemental Skill
  • Deals area of effect Geo damage and sets up a General's War Banner.
  • General's War Banner - Provides up to 3 buffs to characters within the skill's area of effect based on the number of Geo characters in the party at the time of casting:
    • 1 Geo character: Adds "Standing Firm" - provides a defence bonus.
    • 2 Geo characters: Adds "Impregnable" - Increased resistance to interruption.
    • 3 Geo characters: Adds "Crunch" - Geo damage Bonus.

  • Gorou can deploy only 1 General's War Banner on the field at any one time.
  • Characters can only benefit from 1 General's War Banner at a time.
  • When a party member leaves the field, the active buff will last for 2s.
  • Hold - Adjust the location of the skill.

• Juuga: Forward Unto Victory
• Elemental Burst
  • Displaying his valor as a general, Gorou deals area of effect Geo damage and creates a General's Glory field.
  • General's Glory - This field has the following properties:
    • Like the General's War Banner created by Inuzaka All-Round Defense, provides buffs to characters within the skill's area of effect based on the number of Geo characters in the party.
    • Also, moves with your active character.
    • Generates 1 Crystal Collapse every 1.5s that deals area of effect Geo damage to 1 opponent within the skill's area of effect.
    • Pulls 1 elemental shard in the skill's area of effect to your active character's position every 1.5s.

  • If a General's War Banner created by Gorou currently exists on the field when his ability is used, it will be destroyed.
  • In addition, for the duration of General's Glory, Gorou's Elemental Skill "Inuzaka All-Round Defense" will not create the General's War Banner.
  • If Gorou falls, the effects of General's Glory will be cleared.

• Heedless of the Wind and Weather
• Passive (1st Ascension)
  • After using Juuga: Forward Unto Victory, all nearby party members' DEF is increased by 25% for 12s.

• A Favor Repaid
• Passive (4th Ascension)
  • Gorou receives the following damage Bonuses to his attacks based on his DEF:
  • Inuzaka All-Round Defense: Skill damage increased by 156% of DEF
  • Juuga: Forward Unto Victory: Skill damage and Crystal Collapse damage increased by 15.6% of DEF

• Seeker of Shinies
• Passive (Utility)
  • Shows the location of nearby Inazuma resources on the mini-map.

Constellations

Constellations are passive upgrades to characters that increase the effectiveness of their abilities. You must spend a character specific Stella Fortuna to activate a constellation, which will be obtained by collecting a duplicate of the character.

• Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind
• Constellation 1
  • When characters (other than Gorou) within the area of effect of Gorou's General's War Banner or General's Glory deal Geo damage to opponents, the cooldown of Gorou's Inuzaka All-Round Defense is decreased by 2s. This effect can occur once every 10s.

• Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock
• Constellation 2
  • While General's Glory is in effect, its duration is extended by 1s when a nearby active character obtains an Elemental Shard from a Crystallize reaction. This effect can occur once every 0.1s. Max extension is 3s.

• Mauling Hound: Fierce as Fire
• Constellation 3
  • Increase the level of Inuzaka All-Round Defense by 3 to a maximum of 15.

• Lapping Hound: Warm as Water
• Constellation 4
  • When General's Glory is in the "Impregnable" or "Crunch" states, it will also heal active characters within its area of effect by 50% of Gorou's own DEF every 1.5s.

• Striking Hound: Thunderous Force
• Constellation 5
  • Increase the level of Juuga: Forward Unto Victory by 3 to a maximum of 15.

• Valiant Hound: Mountainous Fealty
• Constellation 6
  • For 12s after using Inuzaka All-Round Defense or Juuga: Forward Unto Victory, increases the critical damage of all nearby party members' Geo damage based on the buff level of the skill's field at the time of use:
    • Standing Firm: +10%
    • Impregnable: +20%
    • Crunch: +40%

  • This effect cannot stack and will take reference from the last instance of the effect that is triggered.

Ascension Costs

Characters can be ascended when they reach maximum level, and you have a high enough adventure rank. To do so, open the character page and click the ascend button, which will show required materials.
