Scaling the intense landscapes in a co-op group or solo? You won’t make it far in PEAK if you don’t have the best equipment. There are a multitude of ways you can perish from the elements to running out of stamina at the worst moment.
So, before you set out on your journey of crash-landing and escaping a remote island, give your surroundings a thorough check. Finding the items listed here will give you the best survival odds to help you conquer PEAK.
Backpack
Type: Item
-
Attributes
-
None
The ultimate go-to item in PEAK, the Backpack ensures you don’t have to just rely on your pockets to carry things. There’s less sacrifice needed in this case, so you can carry a variety of items from those that can help you climb, to simple food and healing items.
Of course, you need to be mindful of the weight. Too much will sap your stamina bar and ruin you. As long as you keep an eye on your stamina bar, load up what you can.
Airline Food
Type: Packaged Food
-
Attributes
-
- -40 Hunger
- 40 Bonus Stamina
You crash-landed from a plane, so why not have some Airline Food along the way? It’s the perfect pick-me-up meal too. Not only do you see a reduction in hunger, but you’ll get extra stamina.
There’s no downside, and it hardly weighs anything either, so you can stuff it in a Backpack with no worry. Check both Regular and Big Luggage. Both types have a chance of carrying Airline Food. With the massive hunger it removes, perhaps save it for emergencies.
First Aid Kit
Type: Equipment
-
Attributes
-
- -100 Poison
- -100 Injury
Any gamer will attest that finding a medkit is like finding gold. In PEAK, the same is true. The First Aid Kit is a viable item to keep in your backpack for emergencies. And trust us: you will have an emergency situation at some point.
When a friend takes a big fall and winds up unconscious on the brink of death, this kit will yank them back from that dark tunnel. It is an epic rarity item though, so it’s not a guarantee you’ll always find it.
Energy Drink
Type: Packaged Food
-
Attributes
-
- -30 Heat
- -100 Drowsy
- +25 Drowsy
An Energy Drink is the kick you need to scale those tricky spots. And PEAK is loaded with tricky climbing areas. If you don’t feel like you have the stamina to make it, chug an Energy Drink and see yourself get a brief, yet effective, speed and climb boost.
Besides the boost, it does help combat a bit of heat and drowsiness. One thing to note is that after you receive the benefit, you’ll be hit with a bit of drowsiness (just like in real life when you suck down an energy drink). It’s minor, however, so it’s worth the risk.
Anti-Rope Cannon
Type: Mystical Item
-
Attributes
-
None
Ever wished you had some extra help when climbing? The Anti-Rope Cannon is a wonderful climbing buddy. It helps you reach places you don’t think you (or your team) have the stamina to climb alone. When you shoot it out, the rope extends upwards a good distance.
Be aware that it is weightless, so it can float away if you drop it. Also, it’s one of the few items that will break if you cook it. You can only snag this from Ancient Statues and Ancient Luggage.
Scout Effigy
Type: Mystical Item
-
Attributes
-
None
Yet another item only obtainable from Ancient Luggage and Statues, the Scout Effigy is one of the best items in PEAK for the whole group. When placed down, it can revive a dead player. It’s perfect for when you want to bring a teammate back ASAP.
Plus, you can use the Scout Effigy on Ascent 7 where reviving normally isn’t possible. Don’t place it when there are no ghosts, however, as it will simply be used up with no impact.
This only spawns when you play co-op, not on solo runs.
Cursed Skull
Type: Mystical Item
-
Attributes
-
None
If you feel close enough to your fellow climbers that you’re willing to die for them, then it’s time to pick up the Cursed Skull. In PEAK, this mystical item only comes from Ancient Luggage. When you use it, you will immediately die.
But nearby players will have all status effects except for Curse removed. They’ll all gain 50 bonus stamina too. It’s best used if you feel like you won’t make it, but you want to ensure everyone else will.
Likewise with Scout Effigy, Cursed Skull won’t spawn on solo runs.
Remedy Fungus
Type: Equipment
-
Attributes
-
- -30 Poison
- -17.5 Injury
- -27.5 Injury over the course of 11 seconds
When playing with a group in PEAK, it can be tempting to watch your friends struggle. But if you want to truly be team players, then it helps to get an item like Remedy Fungus. This is the best group item that keeps everyone safe.
When you drop the Fungus, it releases an explosive cloud. Stay in the area and you will reap the benefits of its healing capabilities. It’s almost like a MacGuffin for the game when things get tough for everyone at the same time.
Chain Launcher
Type: Equipment
-
Attributes
-
None
Anything that can make your ascent easier is a great tool, and the Chain Launcher will give you the safety net you need. While you’re grounded, aim and it will launch a chain to connect your location with the targeted wall.
It’s great for scaling across areas you’d otherwise not make with a jump. Using it will consume it, so it’s another item that requires some strategic thinking. It will help out in a pinch though, especially for those of you lacking in stamina and needing a quicker route.
Faerie Lantern
Type: Mystical Item
-
Attributes
-
- -75 Heat
- -150 Cold
- -75 Poison
- -150 Drowsy
- -75 Injury
The Faerie Lantern is, all puns aside, a peak item. Light it up to reduce heat, cold, poison, and even heal yourself or save yourself from drowsiness. Other players close to you will also see the benefits of the Lantern.
It only heals or removes little portions at a time, and the Lantern itself only lights for 30 total seconds. You can turn it on and off to get small heals here and there. It’s one of the best items for long-term use as long as you’re careful with it.
