I would like to see official support for the Linux platform in the firebase_auth FlutterFire plugin.
Is there a missing a feature that is supported on an underlying SDK?
Yes, the Firebase Authentication SDK is available for C++ and REST, which makes it technically possible to support Linux. However, the FlutterFire plugin currently does not support the Linux platform.
Why would this be useful?
Adding Linux support would allow developers targeting Linux desktop environments to leverage Firebase Authentication in their applications, just as they currently can on Android, iOS, web, macOS, and Windows. This would greatly improve cross-platform consistency and enable more robust desktop app development with Flutter.
