We’re excited to welcome Jose J. Perez Aguinaga as Head of Solutions Engineering at Dfns 🤝 José brings something rare in this industry: experience not just building digital asset systems, but running them in production inside regulated institutions, at scale. Over the past 15+ years, he’s worked across Plaid, Numbrs, FLYNT Bank AG, AMINA Bank, The Hashgraph Association, and Zodia Custody 🌍 Most recently, he co-founded Tungsten, a Zodia Custody company, the first sovereign-backed crypto custodian in Abu Dhabi under ADGM and FSRA. Before that, he led Digital Custody Services at AMINA Bank in Switzerland under FINMA supervision, overseeing billions in digital assets. This is the layer that matters 👇 ✔️ Systems that pass audits ✔️ Governance that maps to real approval flows ✔️ Infrastructure that holds under operational stress ✔️ Custody that works beyond the whitepaper José is deeply hands-on across cryptographic key management, MPC/HSM, infrastructure security, and DevOps. But more importantly, he knows how to turn components into systems that actually work in prod. At Dfns, that’s exactly the challenge. As we work with banks and fintechs, the problem is no longer how to build crypto infrastructure. It’s how to operate it reliably within the constraints of finance. José will help design and deploy: 🧱 Custody and wallet architectures for regulated environments 🔗 MPC + HSM + TEE hybrid key management deployments 🛡️ Governance models aligned with real-world risk and compliance 💱 Secure transaction lifecycle and workflow orchestration tools 🔌 Integrations with core banking, trading venues, compliance data and more The industry is moving from experimentation to production. This is where things get real. Welcome aboard José 🤝 📖 Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/eQJKjmvq 🚀 We’re hiring: https://lnkd.in/eUNBjNqb

A quick reminder: we're doing a live walkthrough of Dfns Payouts tomorrow at 11:00am EST. We introduced Dfns Payouts: stablecoin-to-fiat off-ramps built directly into Dfns infrastructure. For those who haven't had a chance to look yet: USDC, USDT, and EURC across EVM networks and Solana, settling into bank accounts in 90+ countries and 60+ currencies. Policy enforcement, MPC-based signing, and best-execution routing at every step. If you're building payout flows on top of digital asset rails, or evaluating whether you should be, this is worth 20 minutes. We’re open-sourcing something we’ve been working on for a while ✨ Dfns Labs is launching 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘥𝘩, a threshold elliptic-curve Diffie-Hellman library for fast, secure key exchange. No single party ever holds the full key. Built from years of work on MPC and threshold signatures, tecdh is designed as a simple building block for distributed systems that need strong security without compromising performance. A few things worth knowing: ⚡ Fast, optimized multi-round protocol 🔐 Threshold-based (no full key exposure) 🔌 Modular design (works across curves and key share systems) 🛠 Built on top of our existing stack (generic-ec, round-based, key-share) We’re also releasing it under Lockness, within the LF Decentralized Trust, to make it a shared foundation for the ecosystem. This is a small but important step toward better, more practical distributed cryptography. If you’re building anything involving key exchange, MPC, or secure infra, this is for you. 📑 Read the full blog post: https://lnkd.in/eN5n99b8 📖 Explore the docs: https://docs.rs/tecdh

Sanctions are no longer something to offload to your compliance team. They’re an end-to-end execution problem… Last week, the French Treasury (Direction générale du Trésor) and Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR) published new guidelines on asset freezing. At first glance, it looks like another regulatory update. It’s not. It’s a clear shift in how financial systems are expected to behave: 🔍 Enforcement must be immediate 🔍 It’s an obligation of result, not effort 🔍 And it must happen inside the transaction flow For years, most firms treated sanctions as screening: onboarding checks, periodic reviews, transaction monitoring after the fact. That model doesn’t work anymore ❌ If you can’t stop a transaction before it is executed, you’re already too late. This is especially true for digital assets. Wallet infrastructure is becoming the place where compliance is enforced in real time. The questions you need to ask yourselves: - Can you block a transfer before it’s signed? - Can you prevent funds from reaching a sanctioned entity indirectly? - Can you prove when and how enforcement happened? If not, the issue isn’t compliance. It’s architecture. What the French regulator made explicit is what the rest of the world is moving toward 🌐 🟢 Compliance must be embedded in the execution layer 🟢 Wallets are becoming the new control surface 📑 Read our deep dive on what this means for fintechs and banks: https://lnkd.in/efnhA5cd 🧰 If you’re building or operating digital asset infrastructure today, get started today: https://lnkd.in/dhdvikj3

We welcome Zoran Cvetkov to Dfns as our new Staff Core Systems Engineer 👋 Zoran brings 20+ years of experience in software engineering, spanning low-level C++ systems, cryptography, and modern distributed infrastructure. He has spent his career working on performance-critical systems where precision, efficiency, and reliability are non-negotiable. From advanced algorithm design to secure blockchain infrastructure, he has consistently operated close to the core of systems that need to work, every time. His background includes nearly a decade building complex geometry engines, followed by work on distributed storage, and later deep involvement in blockchain systems at Securosys, DFINITY Foundation, and Edge & Node. At Dfns, we are building the orchestration layer for digital asset operations used by banks and fintechs. This means designing systems that are secure, predictable, and resilient under real-world constraints. From transaction processing to system reliability and core infrastructure, his experience in cryptographic systems and distributed architectures directly contributes to how we build at Dfns. We’re very happy to have him on board 🤝 📑 Read the full blog post: https://lnkd.in/ezCf8Xuh We’re hiring! 👉 https://lnkd.in/eUNBjNqb
