Mistfall Hunter features six different classes players can choose from, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses thanks to the different skills and talents available in each’s arsenal. In today’s guide, we’re going to be checking out the best starting build for one of the most unique classes, the Seer.

Key Takeaways

  • Reverent Seer: catalyst healer/buffer—use charged Psionic Orbs and runes for sustained support and ranged control.
  • Prioritize Rune Summon: Punishment for steady damage, Burst for AoE+stagger, Healing rune for team sustain.
  • Pick talents for charged-orb damage, deeper healing, Wind Surge mobility+stun. Use Seeker, Blessing, Aegis, Creation.

Reverent Seer Build Guide

Devout followers of the Goddess of Life, Seers channel divine magic through prayer and sacred arts. They skillfully guide the life essence bestowed upon the world to heal the wounded, dispel afflictions, and shelter their allies. In these times of chaos, most Seers hold unwavering faith in the return of the gods, while a few mad heretics harbor resentment toward divine silence, drawing chaotic power from blasphemous acts.

Weapons

The Seer class has access to two weapons but the way they function is a little different than the other classes. The weapon type relies on whether you Pledge Oath or Renounce Oath, and your choice switches your build between the Reverent and Blasphemer. The Reverent build relies on using the Catalyst weapon and focuses mainly on healing and providing buffs to players, which is more helpful when playing in a team. The Blasphemer build uses the Mace weapon and focuses on attacking and hindering enemies.

We will be focusing on the Reverent build of the Seer as it fills the role of the supporter class well with various buffing abilities and a decent ranged attack to stay out of the enemy's reach.

Skills and Combos

When playing the Seer, you can only use one type of weapon during a match. When you’re starting out or playing solo, the Reverent build using the Catalyst offers a ranged attack, but it is not the most powerful one and the strength comes from combining various buffs to take down your enemies.

Psionic Orb

Psionic Orb Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Fires a Psionic Orb that accelerates Psionic Energy Recharge on hit.

The Reverent Seer is a spell casting type that relies on putting down a runic construct with various effects. You will gain access to two basic skills. The first is Psionic Orb, which fires off a damaging orb of light. Both firing and hitting an enemy with the Psionic Orb will recharge Psionic Energy and you can hold the attack to shoot an enhanced orb with higher damage multiplier, impact, increased maximum range, and effective range.

Rune Summon

Rune Summon Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield You can summon a Rune at the cost of Psionic Energy.

The second basic skill is Rune Summon, which will put down a runic construct that will have different effects based on the specific rune you have equipped.

Punishment Rune

Punishment Rune Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield Punishment Runes consistently deal damage in an area.

First, the Punishment Rune will help increase your damage output through a rune that will continuously deal magic damage to an enemy within range. This rune fires off orbs at enemies, prioritizing enemy players or the one that has the lowest health, and it will help you deal consistent magic damage to your enemies. Although this acts as a turret that helps in a fight, it will only be effective when it has a clear line of sight against the enemy within range. It can also be destroyed with a few impacts.

Burst Rune

Burst Rune Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Deals magic damage to all enemies within range.

For the second rune, using the Burst Rune will give a burst damaging spell option. Putting down this rune will cause an impact on the area, dealing magic damage to all enemies within range and recovering Psionic Energy based on the number of enemies hit. The spell will also leave rune energy on the ground for a short duration and will mark any enemy that comes into contact with it.

The marked rune will burst after a brief delay, dealing magic damage while staggering them. Another effect the Burst Rune has is that it allows Psionic Orbs passing through the rune energy to carry a mark. This mark gets inflicted upon any enemy hit without them getting close to the area. This provides great utility to the Reverent Seer as it adds much more stagger to the attacks.

Healing Rune

Healing Rune Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Summons a Healing Rune at the target location.

For the third slot, using the Healing Rune will give the Reverent Seer a great sustain spell. While the number of uses is limited for each expedition, it can greatly help the Seer in a fight against another player as it will heal all allies within its range for a duration. Since the runic construct can be destroyed by the enemy, the placement is important and if the enemy decides to go after it first, you will have more chances to hit your target for free.

Wind Surge

Wind Surge Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Launches a high-pressure cyclone.

In addition to runic constructs, the Reverent Seer can also use two additional spells. For the first spell slot, Wind Surge is an amazing tool that is very useful. The spell will launch a high-pressure cyclone toward your aimed direction, dealing damage and knocking back enemies within range. Since the spell doesn’t have a long chanting time and comes out relatively quickly, it is a great defensive tool to push back enemy players who are trying to hit you with melee attacks while also dealing damage.

Healing Arts

Healing Art Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Performs Area Targeting.

Lastly, Healing Arts will provide the Reverent Seer with more options to regain health as you will be able to heal yourself or a targeted ally. While Healing Arts cannot be used on downed targets and has a limited number of uses, it provides opportunities to quickly regain you or your teammates' health during a fight, potentially turning the tide in your favor.

Talents

Next, we will be looking at talents to enhance the specific combination of spells and runes for our Reverent.

Potent Wounding

Potent Wounding Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Consumes Psionic Energy.

There are two different pathways available for the Art of Offense and Defense group and taking the right path will enable you to play more aggressively. This is because the Potent Wounding talent will upgrade your Psionic Orb’s damage multiplier when charged, allowing you to deal more damage with your attacks.

Enhanced Tracking

Enhanced Tracking Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Your third Enhanced Orb is enhanced.

The second talent in this pathway, Enhanced Tracking, will make it so that every third enhanced orb will have greatly increased flight speed and tracking ability, making it extremely difficult to dodge.

Sustain

Sustain Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
If an orb lands a critical hit, you absorb more Psionic Energy.

Next, taking upgrades from the Path of Asceticism group with the Sustain talent will allow you to recover more Pisonic Energy when your orb lands a critical hit. The amount recovered will increase when using a charged enhanced orb and will increase even more if it hits an enemy player. There is little chance for you to run out of Psionic Energy as long as your orbs are hitting an enemy.

Miraculous Healing

Miraculous Healing Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Increases healing bonus.

The Miraculous Healing talent will upgrade all of your healing spells by increasing the healing bonus of both the Healing Rune and Healing Arts. This helps ensure you won’t go down easily during a fight whether you’re playing solo or in a team.

Deep Healing

Deep Healing Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Recovers Health based on opponent's missing Health.

The Deep Healing talent from the Healing Art Enhancement group will upgrade the Healing Art spell by increasing the health recovered based on the missing health of the target. This will make sure you heal more the lower your health and will give a better chance of turning the tides of battle after healing.

Powerful Wind

Powerful Wind Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Increases knockback of Wind Surge.

Lastly, focusing on all the talents of the Wind Surge Enhancement group will make sure the Reverent has a decent defensive tool, regardless of the runes you are using. The Powerful Wind talent will increase the knockback distance of Wind Surge, making it harder for enemy players to catch you once hit by a well-placed Wind Surge.

Propel

Propel Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Wind Surge increases movement speed.

Next, the Propel talent will increase your movement speed for a short duration after successfully casting a Wind Surge. The extra speed will help you get away from your enemy and create more distance as you put down a runic construct or attack with your Psionic Orbs. Being a class that relies mostly on healing and defense, the extra speed is a necessity to help you triumph over your foes in a fight.

Opportunist Strike

Opportunist Strike Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Enemies hit by Wind Surge are stunned.

Finally, the Opportunist Strike talent will allow your Psionic Orbs to stun enemies that are hit by a Wind Surge. This can only occur if the orb hits an enemy within a short period after being hit with a Wind Surge, with the stun duration being longer if it's an Enhanced Orb. This gives the Reverent even more tools to win a fight, because being stunned will leave an enemy wide open for high-damaging attacks such as the Burst Rune.

Affixes

Another mechanic that affects how well you perform is affixes, and there are two sources from which you can obtain them. The first is from Sigrid, the Tavernwoman, who can prepare Victory Wine that you can take before each match or expedition to give various affixes of your choice. There are different tiers, with each providing a greater number of affixes you can gain. Only the basic one, the Mortal Tonic, can be received for free, though. The higher tiers require you to upgrade the Tavern and resources to brew them.

Being a support class that is not as sturdy as the melee classes, going for movement speed affixes gives you an edge in combat. This will help you stay out of reach of melee enemies and gives you the ability to quickly move around the arena for optimal positioning during a fight.

Seeker

Mistfall Hunter Seeker Skill
Hitting an enemy increases movement speed for three seconds with Seeker.

The first affix you can look for the bonus movement speed is Seeker, which will increase your movement speed for three seconds when you hit an enemy. The speed you gain depends on the level of the affix, and at higher levels, the bonus can stack twice, letting you become even faster as you strike your enemies.

Blessing

Mistfall Hunter Blessing
Increases duration of buffs.

Next, the Blessing affix will increase the duration of your buffs. This works great for the healing powers of the Reverent, allowing your spells to heal even more.

Another source of affixes is through gear. Gear comes with random affixes and gem slots. There are four different types of gems: Agate, Amethyst, Moonstone and Peridot, with each having one affix from their specific pools. You can forge the gear and gems yourself, which will grant four gems with random affixes, or look for one with the particular affix you want in the Auction House.

Aegis

Mistfall Hunter Aegis
Increases Defense.

Being a support class, the Reverent Seer is not as durable as other classes, and it can feel like you are taking a lot more damage. One of the Defense affixes that helps is Aegis, which will simply increase your Defense value with the amount provided going up as the affix level rises. If the affix reaches level five, it will also grant you physical resistance, increasing your survivability even further.

Creation

Creation Mistfall Hunter Mercenary Sword and Shield
Increases Construct duration.

A utility affix that is great for the Reverent Seer is Creation, as it will prolong the duration of Constricts. Since the class revolves around using various runic constructs to help the team during fights, Creation is an essential affix to have. Upon reaching level five, the affix will also increase the damage dealt by the constructs, increasing the Seer’s damage output even further.

Final Tips

With the Reverent Seer being a class centered around buffing and healing yourself and your team, it is the perfect option if you’re looking to become an irreplaceable supporter. The main gameplan when playing the Reverent Seer would be to make sure you’re out of the enemy’s reach and pepper them with Psionic Orbs. The main weakness is the range of your runic constructs and whether you are looking to damage enemies or heal yourself. Rune placement is key.

A well-placed Healing Rune can help you and your team tank a lot of incoming damage. Alternatively, a sneaky Punishment Rune at the back of an opponent will let you deal consistent damage against them while they are focusing on you. Instead of tackling enemies head-on, the Reverent Seer thrives through smart positioning and Rune placement to control the pace of the battle.
