I first registered this account - my first - April 20, 2007. Since then, I've gotten involved pretty deeply in AfD work. I see it as a chance to triage articles that are flawed, but may yet have potential. If you need access to a Wikipedia article that has been deleted, ask me. If it's not a copyright violation, libel, or personal information, and has not been deleted as a suspected biographies of living persons violation, I will userfy the article for you.

Note that using the text to recreate any deleted article may automatically qualify them for speedy deletion, and copies of previously deleted content that are being used solely for long-term archival purposes may be subject to deletion because Wikipedia is not a free web host. We have a list of alternative sites which may be used to host your content.

I maintain a sock account AVPW primarily for use on public networks. In the event of a compromised account, I specifically request any administrator to honor a request from AVPW to block this account, and absolve you in advance of any repercussions.

Current requests for increase in protection level

    [edit]
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Daily unproductive editing from TAs which resumed almost immediately following the expiration of a month-long block imposed in late February. A repeated pattern is the unexplained removal of article content—one of the most common forms of vandalism—and the addition of unsourced/undue information. Realistically, I can't imagine a future where this page ceases being a target for childish trolls, given the sensitive subject matter at hand. The fact that no tin-foil hat has yet tried to insert their own agenda is a miracle, since as most of you reading this may know, Sandy Hook theories are unfortunately prominent in conspiracy spaces. Semi-protected indefinitely. Yue🌙 (talk) 01:22, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism IP Always Change The Article Without Sources. Masare012 (talk) 10:33, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Warned the user who made disruptive edits today. Yue🌙 (talk) 01:35, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Reason: I request semi-protection for Apsara because there has been repeated removal of significant content by new users over the past month. Despite multiple reverts, the disruptive behavior continues.

    Diffs of recent vandalism:

Semi-protection is requested to prevent further vandalism and preserve the integrity of the article. RaSriAiem (talk) 13:17, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Declined – All edits coming from one user, who has been warned. Yue🌙 (talk) 01:36, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Reason: The page 2026 Pakistan Super League has been targeted by frequent IP vandalism and occasionally receives unverified edits. Applying semi-protection will help maintain reliability and prevent disruptive changes. Elison Pokhrel (talk) 14:59, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Repeated additions of unsourced statements (that belong on another article if at all) by non-autoconfirmed editors. The Bushranger One ping only 20:26, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Temporary full protection: Death rumors across multiple articles and sources will cause confusion, also can cause poor or unsourced edits. xxᴄʀᴏꜱꜱxx (talk) 22:11, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Declined – No changes to the current protection level are required at this point in time. No such rumors have been added to the article. - The Bushranger One ping only 22:16, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
And do note that we don't proactively protect pages. Pages are protected in response to unsourced content and vandalism. Not out of speculation that it will happen. Servite et contribuere (talk) 00:21, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Reason: High level of temporary account vandalism: a specific user, on multiple temporary accounts, has repeatedly been adding a detail in this article without engaging in talk page discussions (even though I have) and is giving no reason for their edits/reverts whatsoever. I propose semi-protection or extended-confirmed protection since this individual is extremely persistent (you can see the page history). Even another user, Ajheindel, has taken issue with this and has reverted the temp account's edits, but the account has reverted their revision as well. It doesn't seem like this individual is going to give up hence my protection request. Thank you for your attention to this matter. HarvardJock (talk) 01:17, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 2 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Yue🌙 (talk) 01:32, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

    [edit]
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

    • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
      • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
      • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
    • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
    • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
    • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

    • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
    • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
    • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
    • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    [edit]
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, if you are unable to add a request to the article's talk page, you may use this page to propose a specific edit to be performed. Vague requests that don't propose a specific edit will be declined. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

@Kowal2701: Thank you for your work on improving our coverage of African topics! I spot-checked a few of your creations and found no major issues. My only question was related to Zimbabwean Plateau, where I was able to verify all of the statements against the sources... except for the article title. None of the books cited seemed to use the name Zimbabwean Plateau, so I was wondering how you chose that title. (Non-administrator comment) TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:44, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
@TechnoSquirrel69 I can find sources (some dating back to 1994) that mentions this name as is, although the P in Plateau should be p, methinks. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 06:20, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for the kind words. You're right the sources in the article don't use that name, Beach calls it the "Plateau", Mudenge "plateau", and Pikirayi "Zimbabwe plateau", though Beach and Pikirayi call it "Zimbabwean plateau" elsewhere [5][6]. There are 729 hits on Google Scholar for "Zimbabwean Plateau", and 902 for "Zimbabwe Plateau", I think I found the former more natural. VWF is right that the amount of capitalisation doesn't reach the threshold for WP:NCCAPS though Kowal2701 (talk, contribs) 06:44, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Hi everyone, I've created 55 articles dating back to 2010. In that time, five have been deleted, but only one since 2017. Another one was recreated, so only four deletions overall. One of my fairly recent articles, Hymns from the Rig Veda, was selected a few months ago for the Main Page 'Did You Know' column. Rollback

    [edit]

Hello! I am Phlogiston Enthusiast. I would like a moment of your time to request rollback rights. I believe that I could use rollback permissions to assist in anti-vandalism in the recent changes tab. There are multiple reasons for this. For one, it would streamline reverts on articles that need them, and be a useful tool against vandalism. This is because if a user is making edits of a vandalistic nature, they are likely to have made multiple. Rollback would assist with these issues and prevent long and drawn-out revert wars by vandals. Second, I believe that I meet the qualifications for the role. I possess experience patrolling the recent changes section, and have reverted many vandalous edits. If need be, I can attempt to provide a comprehensive list of the articles on which I have combatted vandalism. Finally, I understand that it looks bad to have had two arguments over vandalism-related subjects in the past. However, I would argue that this is almost the opposite, as having a clean record with no mistakes would mean that I had no mistakes to learn from, and as well I have apologized to all parties involved in both. In summary, I believe that I should possess rollback rights as to better combat vandalism, and if need be there can be elaboration. If not, I completely understand.

Ammending: this was written roughly a month ago. I was told that I would need one month's experience more before I should re-apply. I have since aqquired more than this. I have been the cause for scores of blocks and have better since de-vandalized the Wiki. Following my embarrasing mishap recently reguarding confusion over the tool, I have better researched it and now believe I would be more fit to utilize this. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 20:22, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

After doing both again today I'm up to 1093. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 16:25, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) That isn't really relevant to rollback though; admins will check your edits when they review this, and reverts and counter-vandalism is what matters for rollback. HurricaneZetaC 16:40, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. Just trying to say I understand to an extent what does and does not break syntax. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 16:51, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Also worth ammending is that it would provide access to interceptor, which is a useful tool I believe I could do a great deal of antivandalism with in a way that is more efficient than the typical recent changes page. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 18:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Also of note: I am now a Pending Changes Reviewer. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 14:49, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) Phlogiston Enthusiast, an admin will review the needed information. I don't see how a lot of these notes are relevant to rollback; pending changes requires some overlapping skills with rollback (such as the ability to effectively determine what is vandalism), but it is an entirely different right for good reason, and does require different skills. Rollback's primary purpose is to assist with recent changes patrolling. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 21:53, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
Okay, sorry. Just trying to put everything on the table here. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 02:25, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Not to sound picky, just wanted to make sure two weeks of inactivity and lack of approval/denial wouldn't make this stagnate and die. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 19:21, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Adding another comment, since it has now been 22 without this being responded too and I don't want this to get archived. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 18:03, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
It has been twenty-seven days and there has been no administrator response, or even so much as a comment. In the most respectful way possible, I would like to know why, as other people have recieved responses in that time. (Talk) PHLOGISTON ENTHUSIAST 13:12, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
Not an admin, but happy to answer this. There is no specific set amount of time from requesting a permission to being granted it. Administrators review these boards in their own time and at their own discretion. There is nothing personal, don't worry. An administrator will respond eventually! 11WB (talk) 02:22, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
I'm a little disappointed by this interaction, which is a clear failure to deny recognition, and to a lesser extent this edit summary [9]. However, I'm not sure what the norms are for granting rollback, so I'll leave this for another admin to decide. Toadspike [Talk] 21:00, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

Done for a 3-month trial period. Toadspike [Talk] 15:12, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Rollback permissions would be incredibly useful for what i do, which is mostly patrolling recent changes. I have a history of making good edits and while redwarn rollback is useful, actual rollback rights would be much more useful since i could actually use proper tools. Kadermonkey (She/Her) (talk) 19:58, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

@Kadermonkey I've deleted the revision you reverted at Darin Burns as a serious BLP violation (WP:RD2). Next time you see something like that, you can ask an admin for revdel. You should also familiarize yourself with the other revdel criteria as you get more involved with recent changes patrolling. Toadspike [Talk] 00:00, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

@BlueStaticHorse This edit [10] is not necessarily vandalism. It looks like it changed old spelling or transliteration variants to modern ones. While in contravention of WP:KYIV and related guidance, this was likely done in good faith. Toadspike [Talk] 00:33, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting rollback because I would like to use tools like WikiShield and try other anti-vandalism tools. I understand that I don't yet have a month of experience but I am hoping that my contributions speak for themselves. Thank you for considering. I have recently returned to Wikipedia after not editing for a while and have been patrolling recent changes as well as pending changes. I have been consistently using Twinkle and have given warnings to notify users of potential problematic editing. Therefore I feel rollbacking would allow me to better combat vandalism. Thank you! (Non-administrator comment) This user has not done 1 month of recent changes patrolling. It was about 2 weeks total (the earliest I see is from march 27). Dafootballguy (talk) Dafootballguy (talk) 01:48, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Hi, I am Elison Pokhrel and I am writing this to request rollback rights. I have been an active editor on Wikipedia for 11 months and have contributed more than 3,000 times to improve articles. I regularly patrol new pages, review recent changes, and revert vandalism when needed. I understand the responsibilities of rollback access and will use it responsibly according to Wikipedia’s policies.

Thank you ! Elison Pokhrel (talk) 10:33, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

I work on combating vandalism via WikiMonitor, but sometimes a user has multiple edits on a page, and I need to revert them all at once. I believe the rollback permission would help me. Regards-- Gerges (Talk) 16:44, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

Not done. @Gerges, I'd like to see you gain more experience first. I notice that this recent reversion, while correct, did not use an edit summary explaining the reversion, nor did you warn the user who made the edit. Please remember to always warn after reverting. Toadspike [Talk] 15:07, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

The user is trustworthy and compliant, so I'd like to suggest granting them the permission to give them more tools and make the experience more engaging. Thank you. Henrydat (talk) 08:08, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Not done. If this user would like to be granted rollback, they should request it themselves. The rationale you have provided here ("make the experience more engaging") is not convincing, as it has nothing to do with the purpose of the rollback tool. Toadspike [Talk] 15:10, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
What I mean is they'll love the editing because it'll be more convenient. I saw they were using Twinkle. Henrydat (talk) 16:52, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

I have experience with undoing, so perhaps I should ask for it myself. I use RedWarn to get a summary of reverting, the rollback tool will help me undo faster in clear cases (vandalism). Henrydat (talk) 18:55, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
