Abbreviated Name

[edit]

Why is the page simply titled "GameCube"? Shouldn't we put "Nintendo GameCube" on the title? Because that is what the logo says. 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:90B6:1DE7:B1D3:FB0B (talk) 21:59, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I made an account to agree with this, the GameCube is a nickname for it's full name, Nintendo GameCube. For example the Wii is simply known and the Wii, not the Nintendo Wii. This is also seen in the Wii's memory card settings, it displays the names of each console side by side. Displaying itself as the 'Wii' and displaying the GameCube as it's full product name "Nintendo GameCube". okay that's it :) Yummerswhat (talk) 22:40, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody calls it "Nintendo GameCube" outside of marketing. We don't call it the Sony PlayStation 2 or the Microsoft Xbox. WP:COMMONNAME applies. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:37, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with your reply because it's exactly what it says on the tin. Gorilli09 (talk) 16:13, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
