Children's data is the fastest-moving enforcement area in US privacy right now 👀 COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, has been around for years, but the landscape has shifted dramatically. The California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Connecticut, Utah, and a growing list of states are tightening rules around how businesses collect and process data from minors. And regulators are not waiting around. The challenge for most businesses is not intent. It is infrastructure. How do you actually know who you are collecting consent from? That is exactly what age verification in a consent flow solves. Usercentrics Web CMP now includes a fully integrated age verification gate for the US market. Here is what it does: ✅ Verify user age before the consent flow begins. A simple age check is presented to visitors before the consent banner loads, ensuring no data is collected until eligibility is confirmed. ✅ Redirect underage users to a page you configure. If a visitor declares they are under the minimum age, they are automatically redirected to a designated page set up on your side, such as a children's privacy policy or a restricted access screen. ✅ Configure age thresholds and policy rules directly in the Admin Interface. CMP admins can set the age bracket. ✅ Maintain compliance records available for export upon request to our team. Every age verification event is tracked, timestamped, and securely stored for regulatory documentation. And the best part? It is easy to activate directly from the CMP. No siloed data, no extra effort 💡 Ready to try it out? https://lnkd.in/eHu_7amJ

Microsoft Advertising's article on Advanced Consent Mode reinforces a clear industry shift. Accurate measurement and user privacy need to work together 🤝 Advanced Consent Mode adapts measurement based on a user's consent choice. When consent is given, full tracking runs. When it is declined, modeling helps recover insights using aggregated data instead of personal identifiers. Proper setup makes the difference 💡 This is where Usercentrics and Cookiebot Web CMP by Usercentrics come in. Businesses can collect and manage consent, align categories with advertising purposes, and pass consent signals directly to Microsoft's UET tag. This allows Advanced Consent Mode to adjust measurement in real time. As third party signals continue to decline, consent signals are becoming essential for reliable reporting and optimization. Our partnership with Microsoft reflects a shared commitment to privacy-first advertising 👏 Learn more about sending consistent, compliant signals to Microsoft with Usercentrics 👉 https://lnkd.in/et6NeeZ7 Full article by Dr. Paul Farrow in the comments.

Most app developers know they need a consent prompt. Far fewer know how much it actually affects their bottom line 📱 Here is a number worth sitting with: ads served without data processing restrictions have on average 167% higher eCPM than those served with restrictions. And the match rate is 136% higher when an ad request comes in without restrictions. That is not a small difference. That is the difference between two entirely different revenue trajectories. Here are 5 tips to make sure you land on the right side of that gap, but there is a lot more where these came from 👀 The App Compliance and Monetization course, in collaboration with GameBiz Consulting, goes all the way in. Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking 🌸 Our garden is looking a little different this season. Last week we received a fresh batch of G2 badges, and honestly, they look amazing. These did not come from us. They came from the people using our product suite every day. Every badge represents hundreds of reviews. Every review is someone who trusted us with their consent management. Thank you for making this garden grow 💙 Oh, and this is only the Usercentrics side. Head over to Cookiebot Web CMP by Usercentrics to see the other garden in bloom 🤩 Want to see what grows when you get consent right? We left the gate open: https://lnkd.in/edTj2viE

If you have not read this yet, add it to your list for today 👀 Our CEO Donna Dror 🇮🇱 just published an article on Forbes Technology Council and the timing could not be more relevant. AI agents are no longer a future conversation, and the governance gap is already closing faster than most leadership teams realize. MCP is the shift from AI as a smart assistant to AI as an operator inside your business. And that changes the questions every CEO should be asking right now 👇

AI agents are moving from assistants to decision-makers and operators, faster than most leadership teams have accounted for. In my latest Forbes Technology Council article, I break down why Model Context Protocol (MCP) deserves attention from CEOs now, not once the risks have already materialized. MCP enables AI to act directly inside core business systems: modifying data, triggering workflows, executing transactions. That capability demands a new layer of governance. Without clear guardrails, the exposure is operational, legal, and reputational. CEOs who treat this as an operating model shift (and align tech, legal, and operations teams early) will be far better positioned than those retrofitting controls after an incident. If MCP still feels abstract to you, that's precisely the problem. The gap between "I haven't heard of this" and "this is already running inside our stack" is closing quickly. California dreamin'. Except this dream comes with fines, opt-out requirements, and a $2.75M wake-up call ☀️ State legislation keeps growing. Penalties keep climbing. And somewhere in between, Disney ended up with a huge bill for consent gaps that many companies still have today. This issue of The Opt-In Society breaks down what's actually happening across U.S. privacy law, what it means for your business, and the practical checklist to close your consent gaps before regulators do it for you ✔️ Because believing you're compliant is no longer a defense. And the happiest place on earth just proved it. So, the dream is over. Issue 3 is waiting for you and we can't wait to hear what you think. We read every comment 😏

Three states. Three laws. All in effect 🇺🇸 Montana, Florida and Texas each added their own rules to the US privacy patchwork in 2024. Same core principles, different thresholds, different penalties, different requirements. 👉 Montana gives residents the right to access, correct, delete and port their data, and requires businesses to honor opt-out signals like the Global Privacy Control. 👉 Florida focuses heavily on child protection and sensitive data, with fines reaching $50,000 per violation. 👉 Texas casts the widest net of the three, applying to most businesses serving Texas residents with no revenue threshold to hide behind. A lot to take in, we know. That is exactly why we built this carousel and why both Cookiebot Web CMP by Usercentrics and Usercentrics come with out-of-the-box legislation presets 💡 See what is already covered for your market: https://lnkd.in/eQMjupX9

Every good story starts somewhere. Ours this week started in London 🇬🇧 We gathered with our partners for the first partner event of the year, and the energy in the room was exactly what you want when you are talking about what comes next. Ana Pinto and Julian A. took the chance to share first hand what we are building at Usercentrics. From our privacy-first product suite to server-side tagging, and a few chapters we are not ready to reveal to our LinkedIn audience yet. Let's just say the people in that room got a special preview 🤫 And of course, we brought the hamster to our meetup 🐹 If you have not seen our hamster wheel campaign yet, that is your homework for today. Huge thank you to our partners ivantage, DWC CONSULT GmbH, Conversationware Ltd, Kim Does Marketing, Adwise - Your Digital Brain, Kudos Narratives, Press AI, Privacy Experience Agency, MikeWorldWide, MeasureMinds Group, and The Drum for making it such a great start to the week. You set the bar high for everything that follows. But the week doesn't end here. If you, yes you, reading this, are at Advertising Week, come find us. We'll be there. (The hamster might be too 😉) See you 👋

In the Old West, no sheriff let a wanted man walk free just because he ran a big operation 🤠 CalPrivacy has the same reputation. They just pinned a $2.75M bounty on one of the most powerful entertainment companies in the world to prove they mean it. CalPrivacy doesn't wait for complaints. They actively scan public-facing websites for non-compliance: broken opt-outs, dark patterns, consent banner behavior. No warning. No heads up. The investigation is already open before you know it exists 😳 In September 2025, CalPrivacy ran a joint sweep with Connecticut and Colorado targeting businesses failing to honor Global Privacy Control signals. Every single target was identified through automated detection. Not one complaint was filed. The question is no longer whether your legal team reviewed your privacy policy. It is whether your actual setup holds up under scrutiny. CalPrivacy is not waiting. They are building cases right now. 👉 Find out if your website is ready for CalPrivacy enforcement: https://lnkd.in/edTj2viE
