👋 Jeff F. reposted this👋 Jeff F. reposted thisFriends in UX, product, creative, marketing, strategy, ops, and leadership: I need 7 minutes of your time. I'll repay you in survey karma. PROMISE! We're getting a read on how AI is changing work. Are people using tools their companies don't know about? Are new roles showing up? Is anyone measuring whether any of this works? Does anyone feel prepared for what's next? Anonymous, 7 minutes, and the results become a benchmark report we'll share. And I KNOW everyone is tired of being asked to take surveys, so here's my promise: finish mine, tag me in yours, and I'll return the favor. Survey karma is real, friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you! https://lnkd.in/g32WSN_mCella survey: The state of AI in creative and marketing workCella survey: The state of AI in creative and marketing work

👋 Jeff F. reposted this👋 Jeff F. reposted thisThe Built to Flex speaker lineup for PM Waterloo's Annual Conference is final — and I am so excited about to share the talk track! When we opened the call for talks, I expected a pile of AI tool demos. That's not what came in. Almost every submission was about what got HARDER — not what got faster. This is going to be a day of straight talk and real conversations about the how the last year has been in product management. JOIN US! Early bird code is still active until Monday. 👋 Jeff F. shared thisReally looking forward to this, it’s going to be a fun talk. I’m really interested in how other Product Managers are navigating decision making when they’re not working in the idyllic empowered teams model.👋 Jeff F. shared thisSales is solving for the deal. Engineering for the system. The CEO for the board. Everyone assumes their problem is the whole problem — and the meeting stalls. 👋 Jeff F. has sat in every one of those seats — the PM handed a feature sales already promised, the CEO doing the promising, the founder who knew exactly which numbers were there to keep everyone calm. At Built to Flex - PM Waterloo Annual Conference, he's giving a talk called Put the whole problem in the room — how PMs surface the real problem under the argument and improve the decision even when they don't own the roadmap. He's bringing live polling, so come ready to weigh in. 📍 Catalyst Commons, Waterloo 🗓 Saturday, September 12 · Waterloo Tech Week 2026 #ProductManagement #WaterlooTechWeek #PMWaterloo Tickets → https://luma.com/pm-fx26

👋 Jeff F. reposted this👋 Jeff F. reposted thisPer the USFIA benchmarking study, 31.6% of 30 leading US fashion companies sourced apparel from Mexico this year. Last year, it was 52.9%. Reported in Vogue Business: https://lnkd.in/gjUWkFBG The same respondents ranked Mexico first on speed to market. So the problem isn’t Mexico. It’s whether the rules hold long enough to justify the investment. Move a program to another country and the fabric may no longer qualify. The right factory may have a different MOQ. Testing and compliance may need to happen again. Lead time changes, and margin goes with it. Under USMCA, a garment can be cut and sewn in Mexico and still miss preferential treatment because the yarn or fabric came from outside North America. I’m not sure a reliably “safe” sourcing country exists anymore. The rules can change halfway through a planning cycle. This is the kind of chaos we’re building Factory Twelve around. A rule changes. First find the styles it touches. Then work out whether the margin still holds, what happens to delivery and which alternatives are actually possible. Once someone makes the call, that decision needs to reach the line plan, the PO and the supplier. #FashionSupplyChain #Sourcing #TradePolicyNorth American Trade Pact Review Unsettles Fashion Sourcing PlansNorth American Trade Pact Review Unsettles Fashion Sourcing Plans

👋 Jeff F. liked thisMeta is not a good company. Get off every thing you can. If you can’t get off, try not to go on it. (I get it, some things like what’s app are near impossible to get off if you live certain places. Reduce use, cost Meta as much as possible while providing as little value as possible.) While you’re at it, get off X also. LinkedIn sucks, but as far as I can tell they aren’t child pornographers.👋 Jeff F. liked thisMeta just bought full-page ads calling itself a leader on child safety. Days after agreeing to pay up to $17.1bn to settle a child safety case. The largest settlement in Meta's history. The ad's message: "We want to ensure teens benefit from this new industry standard, but we cannot do it alone." Translation: TikTok and YouTube need to match us. 47 states, DC, and US territories accused Meta of two things. Knowingly letting under-13s onto its platforms without parental consent. And deliberately engineering addiction: push notifications, engagement algorithms, no real time limits. Meta settled just before Zuckerberg was due to testify. The letter wasn't really for TikTok and YouTube. Meta has been lobbying Congress since June for industry-wide legal immunity under the Kids Online Safety Act. The open letter reads like a public exhibit. Built for lawmakers, not rivals. And Congress responded. Within hours, Senators Blackburn and Blumenthal called the settlement a first step. They demanded protections apply to every platform. And a vote by year end. TikTok and YouTube said nothing. Facebook and Instagram need the next generation of teenagers to build habits early. If regulation slows that down everywhere equally, Meta protects its pipeline. If it slows down only for Meta, competitors win. This isn't leadership. Nothing like it. It's a company trying to survive. And it's got nothing to do with child safety. #Meta #ChildSafety #TechPolicy #KOSA #Instagram #CorporateStrategyMark Zuckerberg's Response To Meta's $17bn Settlement In A Child Safety Case is Breathtakingly CynicalMark Zuckerberg's Response To Meta's $17bn Settlement In A Child Safety Case is Breathtakingly CynicalAndy Pemberton

👋 Jeff F. liked this👋 Jeff F. liked thisNimble Gravity is hiring for a ton of roles right now! One of the coolest ones on the list in my opinion is this one: AI Enablement & Adoption Manager at Nimble Gravity (US, remote) The bar: you can walk into a room with a skeptical CTO at a bank or insurer, with no engineer backing you up, and hold your own on how the system actually works. Retrieval, grounding, failure modes, why a workflow needs human review. Not just change management slides. We're also not interested in "I used Copilot to draft emails." We want a specific thing you built or configured: an agent workflow, a guardrail, a triage process. Something with your fingerprints on the architecture, not just the prompt. If you've got 5-10 years in enablement or consulting, real fluency across Claude/ChatGPT/Copilot (not brand loyalty to one), and numbers to back up adoption results, this is worth a look. Financial services or insurance background is a plus, not a requirement, if the technical depth is there. Link in comments. Happy to answer questions directly.

👋 Jeff F. liked this👋 Jeff F. liked thisProduct is a confidence game. Almost everything we do is about getting evidence to de-risk against uncertainty. - Discovery is about de-risking. It's research to gather evidence. - Strategy and business reviews de-risk by constantly revisiting the data and your hypotheses. - Experimentation is de-risking by allowing the data to speak. - Alpha/Beta and scaling up releases is de-risking by getting feedback in a smaller group early. etc... For me, this is a first principle. A good thing to be thinking about constantly. It's why we test assumptions and everything. Full video: https://lnkd.in/gQeT6Rth

👋 Jeff F. reacted on this👋 Jeff F. reacted on thisAnother VC rejection email, but at least I’m not being ghosted 😅 All these flashy posts saying “we have $500K to invest, we just want to back great founders” only for the fund to later celebrate “500+ applications received”. Have you ever thought that the Founder is spending 100+ hours a week just to make this startup work? VCs don’t owe founders a yes, but if you ask us to apply, you owe us the basic respect of acknowledging the time it took to tell you our story. How about we start putting the investment thesis out there and avoid wasting hundreds of hours from our time?

👋 Jeff F. liked this👋 Jeff F. liked thisI’ll be MCing at this year’s Hatch Conference! In-person tickets are gone but online passes are still available so you can watch me stumble on words and fight my fear of public speaking in real time as I introduce better and more accomplished designers. The talks I’m most looking forward to? Bob Baxley’s “The Courage to Design” - such a needed topic right now with the rapid changes in design culture, tooling, and processes. I’ve been trying to host Bob for a talk in NYC for a while now after reading his 'NotesToMyself' series so I'm delighted we’re finally doing it in Berlin. Bob's a phenomenal speaker and we're incredibly lucky to have Bob open up this year's conference. Kyle Alexander’s “Build Fast, Abandon Faster” - Kyle’s a sharp mind, and given the scale of the output enabled by AI tooling, maintenance and stewardship will be vital in the days ahead. Paz Perez’s “The Model is the Experience” and “Shaping AI Product Behavior” on AI model experiences. Paz is absolutely killing it these days as one of the top AI model designers in the world. She'll be hosting both a workshop and a keynote. Absolutely worth it if there are still spots available. Sara Vienna’s “The Trust Gap” - Sara's worked on some of the biggest brands and products where trust is paramount. Given how much trust has fallen in tech in the past few years, both from employees and users, this couldn't be more timely. As well as roundtables with Thijs “T-ICE” Kraan (“Building Authority Through Content”) and Nata Suu ("I wish I had asked that”) on design content creation and framing good questions. If you’re in Berlin, let’s hang out! I’ll be there from Wednesday morning to Saturday night (Sept 16-19). And if you’re in Dublin on the 20th, I’ll have a ~10 hour layover so LMK if you want to grab a quick lunch or a pint. I was last at Hatch 2 years ago and my most memorable activity was obsessing over the Laser Maze at the Spy Museum with Ryan Scott. We must each have tried to beat the hardest level a dozen times or more. We should definitely try hosting a designer laser maze challenge while there.

I know this isn't what we are meant to take from this Shopify article, but interesting to see traffic from AI search onto Shopify sites only grew 3x YoY from Q2 2025 to Q2 2026. Sounds like huge growth until you consider that Anthropic's revenue grew c.15x over the same period. Even if OpenAI had successfully deployed an ad model for their AI search this shows the revenue growth is B2B not B2C at the moment - and hence why that is all anyone talks about. To be clear, I don't believe that means AI isn't a huge consumer opportunity, it is just going to show up in a very different way.. Some other interesting stats in here on conversion being better from AI search. https://lnkd.in/e8QeMK2U

Dependency is the drug. Your software is the needle. Founders spend two years perfecting the needle and zero hours on the drug. No drug, no habit. Amazing technology is everywhere now. Every investor's inbox holds forty decks of it and not one reason for the client to stay. Salesforce has one. Nobody quits it. The cost of leaving is the product. If you vanished tomorrow, would your biggest client shrug or panic? A shrug means you built a science project. Panic means you built a business. Engineer the drug first. The needle is the easy part.

Shopify’s Winter '26 Editions release marks a significant paradigm shift for e-commerce infrastructure. The new developer tools introduced at Shopify.dev 2026 not only lower the barrier to entry for complex storefronts but fundamentally increase conversion capabilities for enterprise merchants. For agencies and CTOs, adapting to these new APIs is the top priority this quarter. How is your team leveraging the new stack? 📈🛍️
