I started using WorkWhile for over a week now. I’ve worked three shifts. Two at Aurora, IL and one at Burr Ridge, IL. I’m grateful for the opportunity to start earning money easily. Overall the experience working in Aurora was much better. Everything on the app worked well except for the payout feature. There was an issue getting paid out. I used the help option on the app (text message only). I reached out two days before the holiday weekend and it didn’t get resolved until three days after the holiday weekend. I kept asking what was going on with my account. The people were nice, but I never got an explanation as to what the issue was. I’m glad it’s resolved and I finally got paid. Hopefully other users don’t run into this same issue.
Was Great until update

I was finally cleared for W-2 on boarding and passed my background check and was able to get more opportunities for work because I don’t have a license; most of the jobs are only jobs for a drivers or people with a CDL. But I was able to find jobs for package handlers and in warehouses and at JFK but after I signed up for a standby shift and was supposed to be paid the $30 for being on call, but not being called into work they canceled my Account. Which they had done already the other time I signed up for a standby shift, but they reinstated my account both times and gave me the money both times but after the last time they reinstated my account I no longer see job opportunities for anything besides listings that require a drivers license or a personal vehicle, which was not the case before the last time they reinstated my account for closing it erroneously. I feel as though I am being punished for signing up for on-call shifts and taking advantage of the bonus pay, which is the incentive for staying on call for 12 hours, so of course when I see those shifts, I’m going to sign up for them and take advantage of it and every time I did my account got closed and I had to send an email to have it fixed and have my account reopened, but they did reopen it but this last time like I said it seems like I am being punished and not being shown jobs for what I am capable of doing. The only jobs are for driving, which was not the case before. I probably repeated myself over and over but you get the point. I feel like I’m being retaliated against because I don’t get job opportunities anymore.

The Control in this Experiment
This job stayed silent with job listings for the longest time but opened up when I took shifts on other apps first. 2nd shift committed retaliation ON the job for moving towards the supervisor to report someone instructing me who refused to work. Their ethics line was nice but the DoL still accepted the case easily for missed work trying to avoid the scene next time. For awhile I did well and had non stop 5 star reviews and met good people (some forget what minimum wage is), but then ran into ONE bad apple from 1 of 3 Worldpacs who does not belong in supervisor position due to faulting me for two bus driver errors and an accident on the way to work due to them. Messed up my rating, then corporate retaliated when I tried to follow their clearly posted “open door policy” on another location with GOOD people (props to Redwood City!). Since I stopped contacting them on 10-16 when they did that, WorkWhile falsely claims I’ve been still contacting them even though between two apps that monopolize my time with work, that’s impossible. They blocked my account after three instances of interrupting me on jobs in one week just to potentially harass me on behalf of corporate Worldpac personnel and now they have to join the DoL complaint process. All contracts with companies that don’t respect worker rights should be severed on the spot. Leave them high and dry with no workers and fire management if they treat temps like they don’t matter.
I’d like to see changes
lawsuit will be filed
I’ve been using this app for a bit over a year now. It has allowed me a great opportunities to pick up work. I can say within the last for months I’ve only worked with 3 different companies. One out of the three I only worked with them 1 time. The other two job sites have been dozens of times which is great. At times it can be really competitive to try and get work because this app offers very little company’s to work with in a orange/Los Angeles and riverside counties. So I deducted a star from that along with the fact that they are now paying less for the same job have been doing for over a year! Inflation is a real thing so the fact that our pay is being shortened and even been given more work in some instances I’ve found it’s now worth it. I’m taking another star off because of the fact that this app tracks your location 24/7. I’ve I’m not actively on a shift or using the app then my location should not be tracked. So I took another star off for that. I don’t like receiving notifications saying that the WorkWhile app has tracked my location 127 times in the last 2-3 days. Even when I didn’t have a shirt scheduled or was working
