This update includes an important announcement regarding Photomator.

Photomator 3.4.6 fixes an issue with opening and saving sidecar files in iCloud. • Images with sidecar files saved to the Photomator folder in iCloud would not be opened with edits. Fixed. • When sidecar files were set to save to iCloud and a sidecar file on disk was required – for example, after using the Repair, Denoise, or Deband tools – these files would be saved to the Pixelmator Pro folder in iCloud. Fixed.

Photomator 3.4.5 adds a few fixes to keep the app running smoothly. • The RAW icon would be displayed for certain RAW photos in the toolbar and Info window even when the actual photo opened was not RAW (for example, when opening a RAW edited in another app). Fixed. • Sort options would not be restored in the Files browser for non-folder collections. Fixed. • The selected folder and sort options would not be restored more than one level deep in the Files browser. Fixed. • The search field would sometimes expand incorrectly when it had a compact appearance. Fixed. • In the batch editing view, when reopening a batch worfklow with HDDR JPEG as the saved export format, the JPEG option would be selected instead. Fixed.

Photomator 3.4.4 includes some fixes for a few different issues. • It was not possible to set flags or ratings for HEIF files in the Files browser. Fixed. • Sorting was not working in the Files browser's Utilities collections. Fixed. • When flagging or rating photos in Files browser's filmstrip, images would occasionally flicker. Fixed. • In the Files browser, the aspect ratio of certain thumbnails would be incorrect. Fixed. • Sometimes, albums in the Files browser would stop updating when switching/searching for items. • When scanning the Photos library for flags and ratings, memory usage would grow and Photomator would stop responding. Photomator 3.4.1 includes a few improvements and some important fixes. • For RAW+JPEG/RAW+HEIC paired photos, you can now choose to open either the RAW or paired photo right from the browser. • Exporting multiple items from the browser would not work. Fixed. • Photomator would quit unexpectedly when opening the Filter view on certain devices. Fixed. • The flagging/and rating controls were visible on thubmnails in shared albums, which don't allow flagging or rating. Fixed. • If any of Photomator's individual rating or flag albums were deleted in the Photos app, setting those flags or ratings would not work unless the entire Photomator folder was deleted. Photomator 3.4 introduces a whole new way to organize photos with flags, star ratings, and advanced filtering options, bringing powerful workflows for culling photos on Mac. Flags and Star Ratings • Easily organize photos by adding star ratings, flagging favorites, or rejecting unwanted shots. • Quickly mark a photo by clicking the flag icon inside a photo’s thumbnail or using the Flag and Reject buttons in the toolbar. • You can also add flags and set ratings by choosing them from the Info window, shortcut menu, the Image menu at the top, or by using keyboard shortcuts. • Instantly mark favorite shots by pressing Z, reject photos by pressing X, and remove flags by pressing U. • You can also add star ratings to photos by pressing numbers 1 through 5 on your keyboard and remove ratings by pressing 0. • When editing photos in the filmstrip, use the Shift key in combination with any of these shortcuts to set a flag or rating and select the next photo. • Easily find imported photos and photos with flags and star ratings in the all-new Utilities collection. • In View > Metadata, you can now customize the type of metadata shown on the thumbnail of each photo and change the type of star rating displayed. Enhanced Filtering and Search • Photomator now allows you to filter photos by file type, flag, star rating, file name, and include or exclude photos with edits. • On macOS Sequoia, you can also filter photos by date and location. • Quickly access the filtering options in the toolbar or on the right side of the filmstrip. • On the right side of the filmstrip, also find the new More menu with options for quickly sorting photos or hiding the filmstrip. Sync Ratings and Flags With Other Apps • Easily import photos with preserved ratings and flags into Photomator's Files browser from photo editing apps like Adobe Lightroom and others that store flags and ratings in image metadata or XMP files. • The changes made to flags and ratings in Photomator's Files browser will be visible in other editing apps that can open information stored in image metadata or XMP files. • Scan your entire photo library for flagged and rated photos by selecting Scan Photos for Ratings and Flags in the File menu. Other Improvements • When you Control-click a photo in the browser or filmstrip, the shortcut menu now displays keyboard shortcuts, making it easy to learn how to perform quick actions with your photos. • In the Photos browser, Other Albums has been renamed to Media Types, and the Hidden album has been moved to the Utilities collection. Photomator 3.3.23 adds optimizations to reduce the app size, along with a few other small improvements and fixes. • Photomator has been optimized to take up less space on your device by removing unused assets. • When importing a folder to the Files browser, if subfolders or individual images within that folder had previously been imported, they would not be removed as they should. Fixed. • In the Files browser, after using the Finder to delete a JPEG that was part of a JPEG+RAW pair, the original RAW would also be removed until the app was relaunched. Fixed. Photomator 3.3.22 introduces a 5x more precise Auto Straighten feature, along with several improvements and fixes for RAW file support. Auto Straighten • The Auto Straighten algorithm has been completely redesigned, now offering 5x more precision, particularly in images with unclear horizons and low-quality images. • Enjoy greater precision when auto-straightening photos one by one or by adding Auto Straighten to batch editing workflows. • Automatically straighten multiple photos at once by using the Command-Shift-R keyboard shortcut, selecting Auto Straighten from the Image menu at the top, or choosing Auto Straighten from the pinned workflows. • Find the Auto Straighten button directly in the Crop tool pane. Extended RAW Support • Thanks to extended RAW support, you can now open and edit RAW images from 28 new camera models. • Photomator now supports RAW files from the Canon Powershot G2, one of the earliest popular digital cameras with RAW support. • You can now open and edit RAW files from Fujifilm X-S1 and other Fujifilm cameras, including numerous FinePix models such as the XF1, X10, F550EXR, F600EXR, F770EXR, F900EXR, HS10, HS11, HS20EXR, HS30EXR, HS33EXR, HS50EXR, S1, and SL1000. • Photomator now supports RAW files from numerous Panasonic LUMIX camera models, including the DC-G9 II, DC-S9, DC-GX880, DMC-FZ45, DMC-FX150, DMC-FZ28, RAWs shot in High Resolution Mode on DC-G9 cameras, and all RAWs from the DC-GH5 II models. • Open and edit RAW files from Pentax KP and Pentax KF cameras, as well as all RAW files from Pentax K-1 Mark II and Pentax K-3 Mark III cameras, except those captured with the Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution mode. • Photomator now supports RAWs shot in High-Res Mode on the Olympus OM-1 Mark II, Olympus E-M5 Mark II, Olympus E-M5 Mark III, and Olympus PEN-F cameras. • RAW images from Samsung Galaxy NX and Sony ILCE-QX1 are now also fully supported. Other Improvements and Fixes • Clone and Repair tools will now use much less memory when retouching images. • In the Files browser, if editing with the Modify Original option turned on, the edits badge would disappear after saving an image. Fixed. • Sometimes, after closing an image, the thumbnail in the browser would be updated with the contents of the full-size edited image in situations when it shouldn't. Fixed. • When editing RAW files from certain Fujifilm cameras, the app would sometimes quit unexpectedly. Fixed. Extended RAW Support • Thanks to extended RAW support, you can now open and edit RAW images from more than 20 new camera models. • Enjoy full support for RAW photos captured with the newly released Nikon Z 6 III, as well as the Nikon Z 8 cameras. • High Efficiency (HE) and High Efficiency Star (HE*) RAW files from other Nikon cameras, such as Nikon Zf and Nikon Z9 are now also supported. • You can now also edit RAW photos captured using Olympus E-M1 Mark II, Olympus E-M1 Mark III, Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IIIs, Olympus TG-5, and Olympus TG-6 cameras. • Photomator now also supports RAW images from Fujifilm X-A20 and the newly released Fujifilm X-T50 cameras. • You can now open and edit RAW files from the highly-requested Sony A6700 cameras, not only on macOS Sonoma but also on older macOS versions. • Photomator now fully supports RAW files from the Sony A7C II and offers support for uncompressed, compressed, and lossless compressed L-size RAW files from the Sony 7CR and Sony A9 III cameras. • RAW images from OM System models OM-1 Mark II, OM-5, and TG-7 are now also fully supported. • Photomator now allows you to open and edit RAW files from Panasonic DC-G100D and GoPro HERO10 Black cameras. New Export Features • When adjusting the frame thickness, the image-to-border ratio is specifically designed to represent the Golden Ratio, ensuring the framed photos always look visually pleasing. • Effortlessly reset export settings with the new Reset button next to the Frame and Watermark features, or by double-clicking any individual slider in the export window. Photomator 3.3.18 adds a few improvements and fixes to keep the app running smoothly. • When viewing an album with certain types of RAW photos, incorrect thumbnails would flash after finishing a quick scroll. Fixed. • If a batch workflow contained both a Super Resolution action and either a Deband or Denoise action, the workflow would never finish processing. Fixed. • Batch workflows would not work on individual images imported to the Files browser if these had not been previously edited. Photomator 3.3.17 adds much faster files library loading and includes a few additional improvements and fixes. Files Browser • Library loading time has been improved significantly and you'll now be able to use the browser even while certain folders are still loading. • Attempting to open images in Photomator while the app was closed would not work. Fixed. • When batch editing photos with Preserve Edits off and Modify Originals on, an alert would be shown saying that the workflow failed even when it succeeded. Fixed. • When importing individual images rather than folders from mounted drives, ejecting the drive would result in those images not being removed from the browser. Fixed. Photos Browser • The incorrect file type badge was displayed in the Info window. Fixed. Other Fixes • Photomator would occasionally crash when using the 35mm frame in the Export view. Fixed. Photomator 3.3.14 contains a number of improvements and fixes for the Files browser and fixes an issue with saving changes in the Photos browser on Intel devices running macOS 14.5 or later. Files Browser • Thumbnail loading should now be even more responsive when quickly scrolling the browser. • When duplicating multiple items from different subfolders, these will appear slightly more quickly. • Occasionally, when editing images, the selected image would jump to a previously edited image. Fixed. • Nested folders would not be expanded or selected correctly between app launches. Fixed. • When renaming a folder, it would not be possible to include a slash in the name, even though the Finder allows this. Fixed. • When renaming a folder and changing the capitalization, this would not be handled correctly. Fixed. • If identically named RAW and DNG files were located in the same folder, only one would be visible. Fixed. • After resizing the app window, higher quality thumbnails would not be loaded unless the browser was scrolled. Fixed. • Thumbnails in the filmstrip would occasionally not be perfectly sharp. Fixed. • After editing an image multiple times during one app session, the thumbnail would sometimes not be updated. Fixed. • Sorting by modification date would not take into account the sidecar’s modification date. Fixed. • Renaming part of a RAW+JPEG pair in the Finder while Photomator was running would not be handled correctly. Fixed. General Fixes • The edits badge would be incorrectly hidden at thumbnail sizes where it would still fit comfortably. Fixed. • On Intel devices running macOS 14.5 or later, saving changes with HDR content to Photos with image quality set at 100% (and exporting HEIC images at 100% quality) would not work. Fixed. All-New Export • Use the new export preview to quickly see what your exported image will look like. • View full-size preview and even share images using the native Quick Look feature built right into the Export view. • Quickly view the images you want to export in Quick Look by pressing the Space bar. • Use the Command-E keyboard shortcut to export multiple images at once and instantly apply watermarks to a batch of images. • Easily remove a photo from a list of exported photos by selecting the image and clicking the trash icon. Watermarks • Protect your photos using the easy-to-use watermarking feature located in the Export settings. • Effortlessly create watermarks by adding custom text or images from your photo library or file browser. • Easily customize watermarks by adjusting their position, size, and opacity, or adding a shadow. • Turn on the Tile setting to apply watermarks repeatedly throughout the photo with adjustable angle and spacing. • When applying text watermarks, you can also customize the text color, font, and find additional options for applying bold, italic, and underlined text styles.
