I have used EVERY Single note app out there. Trust me. Goodnotes, Notability, Noteshelf, Zinnia, Nebo, Noteful… etc. Noteshelf isn’t perfect, but it is the closest thing to it. Best pencil and natural handwriting experience, (seriously, I don’t know how Goodnotes devs sleep at night with the chicken scratch their app produces no matter what) - and the most versatile options to add things. The only improvements I could ask for would be better consistent loading of many bookmarks (I sometimes have to reload which takes all of 5 seconds for them to all show up) and I personally would prefer the color choices for the pencil UI to be tucked away anywhere other than a floating window that annoys me. Oh, and the widget could use improvement both in selecting which notebook and the image showing up in said widget. That’s literally it. Those three minor issues are the only issues I have compared to my litany of frustrations with other apps that I won’t waste time listing here… (looking at YOU Notability with your inability to apply multiple templates per 1 note STILL??). But really. Thank you Noteshelf people. Your app is literally my second brain, my journals, all my notes, my diaries, and inseparable from my daily routine. Please keep being awesome.

It’s been a while, but Noteshelf 3 beats them all. I don’t know if I could get along without it. Unlimited files to keep every part of your life and business organized. Just wish it had unlimited emojis, and fun stuff. It's been sometime since Noteshelf 3 was developed. I just decided to write my review as I had to retrieve something from Noteshelf 2. I used Noteshelf almost from its origination, Noteshelf 1 and 2. I used it for everythinNoteselfeferred many customers and students to use it. However, when they went to Noteself 3, they cut me off. MyMacBook Pro 2016 is IOS version 12.6 Monterey. When they upgraded one must have version 13. Well I wasn't going to spend $1800 to be able to them when my computer is still great. Therefore I changed to a different program. As I use it, I'm finding it may be better than Noteshelf 3, or at least comparable. I rated it a one just to make you aware when they decide to upgrade again, which they do every few years, be aware you might be cut off, too. Suggestion, don't put everything into one app even if app meet all your current needs.

After purchasing my 13” iPad Pro, I tried out several note taking apps to use instead of Apple’s native app. I wanted something that would allow me to use the Apple Pencil in a way that was as close as possible to having a traditional writing notepad, would be able to be easily organized between Work and Home notes, with sub-organizations, allow customization with the notes and could be accessed easily from other devices - either within the Apple ecosystem or with non-Apple devices. After testing several, Noteshelf 3 checked the most boxes. It’s my Go-To app for all note taking. I use it for work to take notes for meetings, projects, my To Do lists, etc., and organize them. I also use if for my home notes, such as grocery list shopping, notes from our kids’ teacher presentations on Back-toSchool night, finances, etc. I honestly could not live without this app as it’s very easy to use and highly customizable. I highly recommend this to anyone who is considering a very robust and feature-filled note taking app.

I’ve tried a TON of journaling apps over the years and this one checks all the boxes. OK, like all of them, there’s one of two things … like I wish we could lock *any* kind of object or better yet have document layers we can lock. And I wish you could make any kind of object a link, not just a text box. But that’s outweighed by the snappy interface, the watch app for taking voice notes, the best sticker interface of any I’ve tried (and they’re all super similar so standing out on that front is big) and something about how the pen flows, I really feel like I’m writing on paper … which isn’t even a thing I care that much about (I don’t know why ‘it’s not the same as analog’ is supposed to be groundbreaking insight about digital tools in the first place, lol) but it resonates with the journaling experience and I like that. I try not to jump ship on an established tool in my setup at the first shiny object, but this one grabbed me immediately and I’m grateful for that. Thanks and looking forward to continued development!!
