As the title of this review states, I have tried many apps (many with paid membership) for the past two years or so. There are so many options to choose from that I stopped looking for apps and just started trying them as I saw an ad or the app store was highlighting one for whatever reason that day. So when I saw the reviews for Craft, I was like, "here we go again." But I will tell you, the designers at Craft figured out that sweet spot of making the product complex at the same time, still easy and intuitive to use. One example that sold me was when I was writing a draft for a blog post; I could insert an image without issue (something you cannot do in many editors) and then share it as a web page without doing anything other than clicking one or two places. I then sent it to a friend in another state, who commented on how it looked terrific. Also, Creating templates made so much sense that it encouraged me to make more and brainstorm other things for which I could use templates. Oh, and the mobile app is fantastic. Bravo Craft. I'll be around for a bit. One example that sold me was when I was writing a draft for a blog post, I was able to inset the image without issue and then I was able to share it, as a webpager to a freiend of mine in another state, and it looked amazing. I discovered Craft via a YouTuber as I was diving into finding a way to keep track of all my projects, and I have a lot of them. I didn’t want to use a project management software like Monday, Trello or Airtable - I wanted to think about this from a different way that is creative, intuitive and meticulously designed. When I saw it in action I quickly jumped in and instantly knew this was the right program for me. You have to understand how important it is to have a central hub for all your information, projects, tasks, sharing, seamless integration on IOS, presenting mode (that’s new) and with the latest update V3, they have taken it to the absolute next level. I feel like the listened to my feedback as well as others and now also have Collections (essentially a database, but where you can create your own pages within, designed how you like. V3 also brought so many more stylings, and integrated with Chat GPT 4O - which I use all the time for translating. With the new scheduling of tasks, I can centralize everything from Reminders, Calendar, Journaling. And it’s all beautiful, so you spend your time working with something that makes you feel good. Thank you so much guys.

Alas, A couple years ago they abrubtly shifted focus to business/team as opposed to PKM or note-taking, so I reluctantly left. I was thrilled to realize recently they’d returned to their roots, and promptly shelled out for the pro account. I am … shocked by how awful it is on Mac. The iPad experiece is still great, but Mac has been downright unusable through MULTIPLE updates (so don’t tell me to update to the latest). It crashes at least once a day, despite my Mac being kept diliegently up to date with an M3 chip, and with me ALWAYS updating to the latest Craft version the day they’re released. At least 50% of the time I paste in content from anotehr app, I get an error, so I have to “double paste” everything. It’s also quite slow and glitchy. Often when converting to a “card,” I have to do it multiple times. I’m really puzzled. Their focus has always been to be built natively, and these are some BIG bugs. I’m sure I’ll get the copy/paste form “Developer response” saying to contact customer service. Which I have done, but it’s honestly getting old. If I contacted customer service for every glitch I encounterd, that would be half my day. Suggestion: Stop adding new features, and … fix your stuff. (Again, this is for the Mac version. IPad has been fine. iPHone app crashes occasionally, but not terrible.

This update brings a powerful new way to view Collections, major performance improvements, and a range of refinements across the Mac experience.
Collections
- Collections now include a new Gallery view, a grid based card layout as an alternative to table view. Cards display preview images, titles, and property fields as colored pills. You can choose between Small and Large card sizes, configure which fields and previews to show, and use the same filtering, sorting, grouping, and drag and drop features available in table view.
- Collections are now noticeably faster. Importing large CSV files no longer freezes the app, scrolling through tables is smoother, and collections with many items open and respond faster.
Improvements
Document Editing
- You can now middle click links, block references, or sidebar items to open them in a new tab, just like Cmd click.
Document Editing and Styling
- Table block decorations now clip properly at rounded corners instead of peeking through. Opening the Share panel or Assistant now automatically closes unpinned style, info, and format panels.
Home, Sidebar and Navigation
- Selecting Settings from the sidebar now opens Space Settings directly instead of the Templates tab.
Tags
- Tag suggestions now show the correct lowercase version, and typing a tag with different casing no longer prompts you to create a duplicate.
Bug Fixes
Home, Sidebar and Navigation
- Windows no longer appear empty when restoring tabs on launch if Settings was selected when closing the app. Manual reordering in the Favorites section now works reliably. Windows are draggable immediately after opening, and double clicking the title bar zooms the window correctly.
Offline Mode
- Drawings can now be re edited offline after saving.
Copy and Paste
- Pasting formatted content from other apps is now much more reliable.
Backups
- The Restore Version button now works correctly in the Backups viewer.

Repeatable Tasks & Smarter Reminders
Tasks just got more powerful. You can now set tasks to repeat, so once you complete one, the next occurrence is scheduled automatically, perfect for tracking recurring to-dos.
Reminders have also been improved:
- The notifications are now marked as time-sensitive, ensuring you never miss an important task, even when your device is in Focus Mode.
- Your reminders remain private on the lock screen until you unlock your device.
A More Immersive Document Style Experience
Your chosen document style now extends across the entire app, creating a more unified and polished experience. Every detail has been refined to enhance focus and clarity.
We’ve also added eight new subtle styles and a new search bar in the Style Gallery, making it easier than ever to find the perfect look for your documents.
A Fresh Look for Templates
The template gallery has been completely refreshed to match the new Style Gallery, and we have updated all existing templates to ensure a smoother start to any project.
