Tracking the data is amazing! While it doesnt have ai and everything seems to be ai these days. I think i actually like that about this. It’s not overly complicated. Data is kind bros and gals. Track body measurements, fat% and progressive overload. When designing the workouts, the heat mapping on the body helps you select exercises you can see collectively where you have gaps. It’s educational and i love that! While doing workout, you have animation and sync across devices, including apple watch. Even the watch can show how to do the workout which is super cool. Great app! Thank you to the devs
Developer Response Hi camelReview – Thanks so much for the thoughtful review! Awesome to hear the focus on simplicity and useful tracking features is working well for you. Does what I need and the ability to export as as CSV is great for further analysis. Would be 5 stars if you could sync the app across multiple devices without having to re enter all my workouts.

I've tried a number of exercise apps. Those is by far and away the best I've tried. Definitely recommend.

Target region and equipment filters are now saved. When returning to the screen or reopening the app, your last selected filters are restored. To reset the filters, select 'Any region' or 'Any equipment' respectively.
⎯ 7.0.27
Editing workouts and exercises within a workout has been slightly adjusted. In particular, editing exercises now features a redesigned, minimizable heat map sheet in a full-width view showing front and back simultaneously, with the ability to toggle between strength, cardio, and stretching. Comparing muscle distribution while building a workout is now easier. The heat map sheet also introduces a subtle Liquid Glass look that aligns with iOS 26.
In addition, heat maps in workout detail screens now support all exercise types and allow toggling between them. The small heat map thumbnails show the heat map of the exercise type that contributes most to the workout, and if it is not strength (for example, cardio or stretching), a corresponding icon is shown accordingly.

The ‘Exercises’ screen has been simplified. You can now filter more easily by target region and even combine multiple regions if needed.
⎯ 6.2.50
You can now track your estimated 1RM directly in line graphs, making it easier to follow your strength progress.
Graph customization has also improved — you can now adjust lines directly within a line graph instead of going through 'Settings'. And each line can now be set independently based on exercise type (strength, cardio, or stretching) and data type, so you can, for example, combine average repetitions with total weight lifted.
Furthermore, a new period 'All' can be selected, in order to show all data depending on the period.
Finally, the workout completion screen now also shows the heat maps for stretching and cardio.

7.0.7 08/10/2025
⎯ In this release
Under-the-hood improvements and performance optimizations. Preparations for upcoming features and further enhancements.
⎯ 7.0.30
⎯ 7.0.26
Under-the-hood improvements and performance optimizations. Preparations for upcoming features and further enhancements.
⎯ 7.0.25
When opening line graphs from a screen with logs (for example via the 'History' tab), the end date is now dynamic, making it easier to review graphs where the most recent log is in the past.
A UI issue when changing the period has also been fixed.
⎯ 7.0.23
GymBook for Apple Watch now allows deleting logs from today.
Further performance and user interface improvements.
⎯ 7.0.21
Radar charts have been added, offering a new way to visualize how training is distributed across regions and muscle groups.
⎯ 7.0.19
Preparations for radar charts (coming soon). Doughnut chart groupings are now remembered, and data is displayed in a sorted order instead of the previous random order.
⎯ 7.0.17
Added 4 additional exercises, which are available with GymBook Pro:
- Smith Machine Hip Thrusts
- Sissy Squats
- Plate Sissy Squats
- Kneeling Sissy Squats
⎯ 7.0.13
When looking at logs (for example organized by workout, exercise, date, target, or all), skipped logs can now be hidden.
Furthermore, the "Workout Matrix" has been updated to align with Apple's Liquid Glass design language.
