There are more than 120 cards in Clash Royale right now, and all the Heroes and Evolutions have made deck building quite complicated. Every balance update also changes the meta, which means a deck that was amazing last month might not be the best choice anymore.
Hero Valkyrie, Hero Berserker, and Evo Elite Barbarians have just been introduced in Clash Royale, and they are sure to shake up the meta. If you are looking to climb the ladder, using a strong meta deck is always the safer option. Here are some of the best-performing decks in Clash Royale's current meta, including the new Heroes!

I'll be honest, this deck looks a little weird at first. It's not something I would've expected to become a meta deck, but after playing it, I can see why it's doing so well.
The defense is built around Hero Wizard and Zappies. Together they can stop a surprising number of pushes. Once you have defended, it's easy to turn that into a counterpush by placing a Giant Skeleton in front of your surviving troops. I also like sending the Battle Ram down the other lane at the same time. It forces your opponent to split their elixir.
I did experiment with a few cheaper replacements for Zappies, but none of them felt nearly as good. I'd recommend keeping every card exactly as it is.
Vines is another card that really shines here. I usually save it for Battle Ram. If your opponent uses the Hunter, Mini Pekka, or another defender, freezing it for a second is usually all the Battle Ram needs to get through.
The only matchup I don't really enjoy is against decks with Poison. It gets way too much value by eliminating Hero Wizard, Zappies, and Mother Witch. Other than that, this deck has felt incredibly solid.
For spells, this deck uses Vines and Barbarian Barrel. For your Evo and Hero slots, you can use Hero Wizard, Evo Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram.
Evo Mortar Rascals Deck

Evo Skeleton Barrel |

Hero Goblins |

Cannon Cart |

This deck has two win conditions in Evo Mortar and Evo Skeleton Barrel, so your opponent will be under constant pressure. Most players use their small spell on the Skeleton Barrel or the Rascals, which usually leaves your Minions free to get plenty of value.
The biggest tip I'd give with this deck is not to waste your Mortar. Try to place it at the bridge when you have enough elixir to protect it with other troops. If it gets a few shots on the tower, you have already done your job. After that, you can switch to using Mortar as a defensive building. The rest of the deck is straightforward.
For spells, this deck uses the Fireball and Barb Barrel. And for your Hero and Evolution slots, you should choose the Evo Mortar, Hero Goblins, and Evo Skeleton Barrel.

LavaLoon has been around for years, and no matter how much the meta changes, it always seems to find its way. This version is still one of the strongest if you enjoy Beatdown decks.
For most of the match, your job is simply to defend and avoid overspending. Hero Valkyrie, Guards, Skeleton Dragons, and Hero Mega Minion can deal with a lot of pushes on their own. Hero Valkyrie is one of the best defensive cards in the game right now, as her ability can counter many ground pushes!
This meta deck comes alive once the double elixir round starts. Your goal is to build a big push with Lava Hound in front and Balloon behind it. Evo Inferno Dragon and Skeleton Dragons are also there to support the push.
Fireball and Zap give you reliable answers against swarm cards and defensive troops. For your Hero and Evolution slots, Hero Mega Minion, Evo Inferno Dragon, and Hero Valkyrie are the best choices.

This deck is a great choice if you like fast cycle decks. Its biggest strength is how quickly you can get back to the Hog Rider. With cheap cards like Skeletons, Electro Spirit, and Barbarian Barrel, you never have to wait long.
Hog Rider and Evo Firecracker are what make this deck so annoying to play against. Firecracker gives your Hog great support, and if your opponent ignores her, she can get a surprising amount of chip damage. If they try to stop your Hog with a building, you can always use the Earthquake.
On defense, Mighty Miner does a lot of the heavy lifting. It can easily counter pretty much every tank, and its ability can also kill low-HP troops. Some players run Cannon in this deck, but I prefer Evo Tesla.
For spells, you have the Barbarian Barrel and the Earthquake. For the Hero and Evolution Slots, you should choose the Evo Firecracker and Evo Tesla.
RG Hunter Fisherman Deck

I remember trying this deck when Evo Hunter first came out, and it's still one of the strongest Royal Giant decks you can play. Even after all the balance changes, I still see it a lot in the top ladder and even competitive play.
The whole deck revolves around the Royal Giant, Hunter, and Fisherman combo. The idea is simple:
- Place your Royal Giant, and keep Hunter and Fisherman ready behind it.
- If your opponent tries to stop the Royal Giant with cards like Mini PEKKA or Evo Mega Knight, Fisherman pulls them right in front of Hunter, and Hunter melts them at close range.
Timing is the biggest thing with this deck. If your Hunter or Fisherman get eliminated too early, your push usually doesn't get very far. I use Skeletons and Electro Spirit to keep both of them alive for a little longer and make it harder for my opponent to defend.
Fireball is your answer to defensive buildings and support troops. You won't break through every single push, but Royal Giant only needs a few connections to put you well ahead.
For spells, this Clash Royale deck uses the Fireball and Hero Barbarian Barrel. For your Evo and Hero slots, you can go with Evo Royal Giant, Evo Royal Ghost, and Hero Barbarian Barrel.
Miner Balloon Inferno Dragon Deck

Hero Mega Minion |

|
Inferno Dragon |

Evo Goblin Cage |

Zap |

|
Balloon |
Five |
|
Hero Knight |

Miner Balloon has been frustrating to play against for years, and it's still one of the strongest combinations in Clash Royale. You just have to place the Miner on your opponent's tower, then play the Balloon. Most players will use a troop to stop the Balloon, but the Miner keeps that troop occupied. This gives the Balloon enough time to reach the tower and get some damage.
Hero Knight is another important card in this deck. I mostly use it on defense, but it also works well with the Balloon whenever I need a stronger push. Evo Inferno Dragon is there to deal with tanks. Cards like Giant, Golem, and Mega Knight don't usually last long once it locks onto them.
Evo Goblin Cage is your defensive building. Even after it breaks, the Goblin Brawler keeps applying pressure and often forces your opponent to spend more elixir than they'd like.
For spells, this deck uses Zap and Fireball. And for the Evo and Hero slots, you can choose Hero Knight, Evo Goblin Cage, and Hero Mega Minion.
Evo Furnace Graveyard Deck

Evo Furnace |

Hero Knight |

Hero Berserker |

This is the only Graveyard deck on this list. Graveyard took a small nerf recently, but it hasn't changed much for this deck.
The original version uses Evo Knight, but I switched to Hero Knight and had much better results. Its ability pulls nearby troops toward itself, which can keep your Furnace alive for longer and also gives your Graveyard Skeletons a better chance to connect to the tower. Goblin Hut is another card I really like here. Goblin Hut also continues to perform well in this CR meta deck despite the recent nerf.
Poison ties the whole deck together. I usually save it for my Graveyard pushes since it clears out defending troops while also chipping away at the tower. Against decks with defensive buildings, it has incredible value because it can damage both the building and the tower. Hero Berserker is another reason I like this deck so much. Her ability keeps her alive long enough to tank for the Graveyard, which usually means more Skeletons reach the tower.
For spells, this deck uses Poison and Hero Barbarian Barrel. For your Hero and Evo slots, I recommend choosing Evo Furnace, Hero Knight, and Hero Berserker.
Hero Valkyrie Bait

The Log |

Electro Spirit |

Goblin Barrel |

I hate playing against this deck. Every time you think you have dealt with one threat, another one is already on the way.
Most bait decks use Knight, but Hero Valkyrie feels much stronger right now. The idea is to force out your opponent's small spell with Goblin Barrel. Once that's out of the way, Wall Breakers and Dart Goblin become much harder to stop. Even if they don't connect to the tower every time, they force your opponent to keep spending elixir on defense.
You also have Guards to counter heavy hitters like Prince and PEKKA. If you want a faster cycle, you can use Tesla instead of the Inferno Tower. The Log is your only spell, so don't waste it unless you really need to.
The Log is the only spell in the deck. For Evolutions and the Hero, I'd go with Evo Dart Goblin, Evo Wall Breakers, and Hero Valkyrie.
What's the Best Clash Royale Meta Deck?
If I had to pick just one deck from this list, I'd say the Giant Skeleton Hero Wizard Battle Ram deck is the best. What I like most about it is that it's very forgiving. You don't need perfect timing or complicated plays to win. Most of the time, you defend with Hero Wizard and Zappies, then turn that defense into a counterpush with Giant Skeleton and Battle Ram.
This meta deck is also a great choice if you're an F2P player. Evo Battle Ram is nice to have, but I don't think it's mandatory. The regular Battle Ram still does a good job. You do need Hero Wizard, though, but don’t worry because Clash Royale gives you one Hero for free.
