In Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, playing solo is as terrifying as it is challenging, so if you don't intend to squad up with other players and instead want to rely on the AI teammates, then you're going to need a solid build. After all, your teammates can only do so much heavy lifting (and xenomorph shooting), which is why the best solo build in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will help you stay alive and claim victory on each mission.

Best Solo Class in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2

Medic is the best class for solo players. This is mostly due to the fact that you can stay alive longer by healing yourself. Also, you can help your AI allies to stay alive by healing them. As mentioned earlier, your teammates are pretty good at fighting, and they will carry you significantly, dealing damage to your opponents.

To succeed as a solo player, you should always keep an eye out for your allies. Make sure to heal them if they are low on health. Try to keep their Temporary Health full all the time.

When you get a break from the fight, which is usually during the transition from one area to another, stop next to your teammates and use your Trauma Station to fill their temporary health. If you equip the Overheal perk, the Trauma Station will start filling your permanent health and your teammates' permanent health once their temporary health is full. In this case, it's recommended to use Combat Stim first to fill temporary health, then deploy the Trauma Station to regenerate permanent health.

When it comes to perk combination, you need to strengthen your Trauma Station as much as possible, since it is the only device that will regenerate permanent health. You can suit the following perks if you have all the slots unlocked:

  • Combat Stims: Grants 25 temporary health to you and nearby allies.
  • Advanced Trauma Station: A medical station that restores temporary health to anyone in its radius.
  • Guardian: When defending an ally, you both gain 20 temporary health. The ally also gets 20% damage resistance for 3 seconds.
  • Neurotoxin Specialist: Dealing damage to an enemy weakens them, causing them to deal 20% less damage for 5 seconds. It doesn't stack.
  • Passive Charging: Increases the rate of your Trauma Station's passive energy regeneration by 50%.
  • Field Improvements 1 and 2: Each provides a 50% increase to your Trauma Station's energy recharged on kill.
  • Overheal: The Trauma Station will start to heal permanent health after temporary health is full, but it has half the max energy capacity.
  • Mechanic (attach to Combat Stim): Using Combat Stim refills +40 energy to your Trauma Station and half that amount for other nearby stations.
  • Defibrillation: Combat Stims revive downed allies within its radius.
  • Energy Reserves: Increases max energy capacity of Trauma Station by 25%.
  • Concentrated Formula: Increases the potency of the Trauma Station's aerosol, increasing the effect of healing by 50% and poison by 75%.
  • Anesthesiologist: After not taking damage for at least 10 seconds, heal 10% of your current health.
  • Keep 'em Motivated: Kills grant allies in your immediate vicinity 50% of the temporary health on kill.
  • Emergency Activation: When downed, immediately revive and trigger the attached ability. This can occur once every 5 minutes.
  • Weapon Move Speed (Shooting): Increases movement speed while shooting by 5%.
  • Weapon Maximum Ammo: Increases weapon max ammo by 4%.
  • Weapon Handling: Increases weapon handling by 5%.

This build will make sure that both you and your allies are always gaining health, even when you are not using an ability. On the other hand, when you do use an ability, its effect will be significantly higher than the base version of the ability.

The best thing about this build is that you will barely need healing yourself. Thanks to some of the passive abilities, you will regenerate health as you and your allies kill enemies. Also, the availability of Trauma Station is quite fascinating with this build. Since it recharges pretty fast, especially when you are in combat, you can resume using it quickly after it runs out of energy again.

Best Weapon Build for Medic in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2

For the primary slot, the M42A2 Scout Rifle is a superb option. It has a low fire rate, and the max ammo is also limited, but it packs a strong punch. Most of the entry-level xenomorphs die with two bullets, and even the high-level aliens can barely eat up more than a single magazine of the weapon. Being a scout rifle means the weapon has a long range, allowing you to stay away from the enemies but still deal a lot of damage, especially when fighting with Security Synthetics.

The secondary slot options are the exact opposite. A Type 21 Tactica Shotgun Mk 2 is what you need for this slot. Although you want to stay away from enemies, mostly it's not even possible as you are being attacked by hordes of aliens. In situations when you and your allies are surrounded by dozens of enemies and losing a lot of health, a shotgun can control the crowd pretty well. It's almost as powerful as the scout rifle, but it has a limited range.

The good news is that Type 21 comes with electrified rounds, which makes it even more powerful against enemies that are vulnerable to shock damage.

The last slot belongs to your sidearm, and you may think it's not even that important, but do not make that mistake. Even playing at the standard difficulty level, you will face multiple scenarios where both your primary and secondary weapons are out of ammo, and you have to rely on your pistol until the wave is over.

Leveling up your pistol is quite crucial for those scenarios. My first suggestion is to buy an automatic pistol from Wrench and level it up, as it will serve you a lot better. But if you have important expenses, then try to use your default pistol more during the missions to level it up and unlock its Augment slot.

Lastly, you have the Major and Minor equipment slots. For the major slot, make sure to buy a Sentry Gun. It's the best deployable equipment in the game that can easily change the outcome of intense battles. The enemies cannot destroy Sentry Guns, so it will always stay functional until it runs out of bullets. Just keep in mind that you cannot pick up a Sentry Gun after you deploy it. So, make sure to save it for the final waves of the mission.

For the minor slot, pick either grenades or mines. Make sure to check out the enemies you are about to encounter from the mission description before entering the battle.
