6 Underrated Shonen Characters Who Could Defeat Goku

In the entire world of anime, Goku from Dragon Ball is one of the most powerful by far. Since he is part of an alien species known as the Saiyan, he already possesses impressive strength, and he has become increasingly more advanced in martial arts. His abilities are more than just superhuman; they are next-level.

However, despite Goku's impressive abilities, there are still some faces in the anime world that will likely be able to beat him in battle. Some of these characters are underrated, and many would not expect them to win in a battle against Goku. However, a lot of them have a trick up their sleeve in order to win.

Light Yagami

An Invincible Notebook

In Death Note, Light Yagami possesses one of the easiest methods to remove someone from Earth: the Death Note. In this notebook, all he has to do is simply write down a person's name, and they will die immediately. The automatic cause of death is a heart attack, but if Light Yagami writes down a specific method before 40 seconds are over, the person will die through the written means.

In the case of a battle between Light Yagami and Goku, Goku's strength and superhuman abilities would be completely useless if Light Yagami just wrote his name down in the Death Note. However, the only roadblock for Light Yagami is discovering Goku's name, but this would likely be easy to find.

Giorno Giovanna

Gold Experience

In Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Giorno Giovanna possesses a Stand known as Gold Experience. This allows him to turn inanimate objects into living beings, he can reflect damage, heal injuries, prevent enemies from being able to move, and much more. Eventually, his Stand transforms into the Gold Experience Requiem, which takes his abilities to a completely new level.

When up against Goku, Giorno Giovanna could win as long as he has Gold Experience Requiem, which will automatically nullify any actions that Goku uses. With this on Giorno's side, he could reduce Goku's health over time, and completely avoid taking any major damage.

Accelerator

Vector Control

In A Certain Magical Index, as well as A Certain Scientific Accelerator, Accelerator possesses a power known as Accelerator, which gives him the ability to manipulate any vector he comes into contact with. This includes force, momentum, velocity, electricity, heat, and energy blasts. So, if any enemy were to use attacks of these types, he would be able to automatically reflect them.

Since most of Goku's attacks fall under these vectors, Accelerator would be able to easily throw Goku's attacks back at him. Anything like ki blasts, shockwaves, or kamehameha would be useless against Accelerator. Accelerator would also be able to manipulate Goku's blood, essentially being able to stop his heart, or change his blood flow, giving him an easy win.

Saitama

No Limits

In One-Punch Man, Saitama is the epitome of the undefeatable: he has reached the point of power that no one can even come close to defeating him. When he is up against other opponents as well, his strength increases rapidly, and he has done impressive feats such as sneezing away part of Jupiter, defeating entire celestial structures, and more. He also completely removed his 'limiter', allowing him to continue to increase his strength.

Though Goku has trained for a long time and possesses superhuman abilities, he wouldn't be able to stand a chance against Saitama. As noted before, Saitama's abilities continue to increase rapidly, and he is able to destroy entire planets if he so wishes to. With just one punch, Goku would likely be defeated in battle immediately.

Misogi Kumagawa

All Fiction

In the anime Medaka Box, Misogi Kumagawa can harness one of the most broken abilities: All Fiction. Through this, he can completely erase things from reality, including physical items, injuries, events, and even his own death, should he be killed. With this on his side, he can essentially avoid taking any major damage from any opponent, and even if he was killed by them, he could simply just come back.

When up against Goku, not only could Misogi utilize All Fiction, but he could also harness Book Maker, which brings his opponent's level to match his own. Therefore, even if Goku's strength was higher than Misogi's, Book Maker would completely nullify this. Basically, Goku would have no chance against Misogi, as any attacks could just be completely reversed, retroactively making them useless.

Satoru Gojo

Strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Satoru Gojo has strength unlike any other, including impressive power, speed, and combat abilities. Along with this, he can also manipulate space, and he possesses the Limitless ability, Six Eyes, and Infinity. Infinity, in particular, is a defensive strategy that practically prevents anything from being able to touch him.

If Satoru Gojo were to battle Goku, he would be able to easily dodge any of Goku's attacks with Infinity. With Six Eyes, he can quickly react to any action from an opponent, and finally, he can use Hollow Purple to erase anything in his path. Overall, Gojo would be able to completely manipulate space and reality, thereby confusing Goku and giving Gojo the easy upper hand to defeat him.
