Witch Hat Atelier may be running towards its conclusion later this month, but fans are far from disappointed. Not a single episode of the Bug Films adaptation has managed to alienate or frustrate its fanbase, and there's little reason to believe that the few left to come will be any different. Its high-quality animation has remained consistent, its characters have remained fascinating, and its world has remained just as whimsical as it appears in Kamome Shirahama's original manga series. While Witch Hat Atelier has impressed both fans of the manga and newcomers alike and surpassed all expectations, many wonder if it really will be able to stick the landing, but thankfully (or not, for those not ready to say goodbye to Coco and friends), the finale is approaching in late June. Before that, though, there's a tad more enjoyment to be had.
In Witch Hat Atelier Episode 10, viewers were treated to more insight into Tartah's character. Initially appearing on the fringes of the series, the young boy stricken with Silverwash Syndrome took center stage, with his desire for greatness and his frustration with his physical limitations resonating with large swaths of the viewer base. Coco, as she often does with those around her, inspired the young boy to seek his strengths instead of his weaknesses, even in the midst of her own illness. Now healed and on her way back to Qifrey's atelier, Tartah has promised to make Coco a pen, and there's no doubt it will be a masterpiece. While proving that the boy was more capable than he believed himself to be, Coco also realized something that may be the key to rescuing her mother from the forbidden magic she unknowingly cast.

When Does Witch Hat Atelier Episode 11 Come Out?
Coco May Know How to Get Her Mother Back
While traveling alongside Qifrey at the climax of Episode 10, Coco takes note of something that she hadn't realized before: if drawing a spell in reverse could cause pulverized plants to resume their previous shape, then finding the forbidden spell that turned her home and mother to crystal and drawing the inverse could reverse the damage she had done. It remains to be seen if this is the case, and her teacher has not yet been made aware of her plans, but Qifrey may have already considered this, for better or worse. Witch Hat Atelier Episode 11, "The Test in Serpentback Cave," will be available to stream both in Japanese with English Subtitles and in English via Crunchyroll on June 8, 2026, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET.

As the end of the Spring 2026 anime season fast approaches, Witch Hat Atelier has yet to lose any of its steam with audiences, with positive reviews continuing to flood in week after week from critics and fans alike. Currently, on MAL, the series boasts an overall score of 8.72, with over 55,000 users giving feedback. Results are similar on IMDb, with the fantasy series currently clocking in with a rating of 8.8. This is particularly remarkable, as the current anime king, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, boasts an 8.9 on the popular platform.
As Tartah Finds Inner Strength, Can Coco Channel Her Own?
And Will Qifrey's Secrets Be Revealed?
While a second season of Witch Hat Atelier has yet to be officially confirmed, fans are gearing up for an announcement from Bug Films after the finale airs on June 22, given its wild popularity and the amount of content that has not yet been adapted for the small screen. Qifrey's secrets, of which there are many, have yet to be properly revealed, and many of Coco's trials await further down the line. In a recent interview, series director Ayumu Watanabe confirmed that Season 1 took over 3.5 years to make, which has cast a shadow over a proposed second season. Unless it is already in the works, fans may be waiting a while to see Coco and the other apprentices again.
